"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey it's Nick."
"Oh, hi. What's up?" she asked.
She was just starting to be able to talk him without crying.
"There is something really important I need to talk to you about." Nick said.
Leigh sighed, "If it's about what happened in New York, I-"
"It's not. But it's very important." he interrupted.
Leigh wondered what it could be.
"Okay, well want me to come over?" she asked.
"Yeah."
"Okay, bye Nick."
Leigh grabbed her bag and keys, and headed over to Nick's. She knocked on the door, and he let her in. They sat down on the couch, across from each other.
"So what do you need to talk about?" she asked.
"Your college."
"What?!" she asked confused.
"In Houston. The one you gave up."
Leigh felt like all the color drained from her face.
"Anna told you?" she asked.
Nick nodded and looked up at her.
"Why'd you do it?" he assked.
"Nick, I'm not going to lie. I love you. Too much to move away 6 or 7 states. What was I going to do? See you every vacation? And that's it? I loved you too much to leave. But it doesn't matter, it's a choice I made. And it's not like I hate the college I am going to." she said.
Nick shook his head, "It is a big deal. And I am not worth that much to give up that college. I called up the college and the new semester starts in two weeks. And they've re-accepted you."
"You did that for me?" she squeaked.
Nick nodded sullenly.
She smiled, "Thanks, I can't believe yo-"
"Leigh, I love you. And I just know your worth something more than this." he said.
Leigh ran her fingers through her hair and was quiet for a minute. She finally spoke after a few minutes.
"I'm not going."
