"Claire, make anything you want to. I know it will be great." he said.
She turned around and kissed his lips quickly, "Alright. Why don't you go watch Tv or something, just relax, and I will cook this."
He went back to the couch and flipped on the Tv before sitting down. Claire pulled out her recipe for chicken cordon bleu. She got to work and began cooking away.
Over at Angie's, she blasted the radio and cleaned her house furiously, all the time muttering negative things about Aj. Her phone rang and she grabbed it from the table.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, it's Claire. I was just cooking and I started thinking about the tape we made. When are we going to show it to the guys?" Claire asked.
"I don't know, me and Aj aren't on speaking terms right now." she said as she picked a few pieces of dirty laundry off her bedroom floor.
"Oh no ... why now?" Claire asked.
"He doesn't appreciate me." Angie said stubbornly.
"What, did you have a fight about him sleeping while you were delivering that package?" Claire asked.
"Bingo." Angie said angrily.
"Alright, well I am cooking dinner right now, but I will talk to you later, okay?" Claire said.
"Okay, bye girl."
Angie hung up the phone and put it back on the cradle. She saw one of Aj's favorite shirts on the floor so she picked it up and stuck it in the trash. A few minutes later, she went back, got it out and put it in the washer. Not matter how much her and Aj fought, they always apologized.
Back at Claire's, she stuck the chicken in the oven and turned it on. After setting the timer, she sat down next to Nick. He put his arm around her shoulder as she yawned.
"You know, even though I love it, you don't have to cook for me." he said feeling sympathetic at how tired she looked.
"I know, but it just seems like the right thing to do." she giggled.
She dozed off in his arms, and when the buzzer went off, Nick laid her head of the couch, and he went to go get the chicken out of the oven. He set the table, and served out the food onto the plates. He lit the candle in the middle of the table, dimmed the lights, and went back over to Claire.
He kissed her nose softly, and her eyes fluttered open. She sat right up, like she was panicked.
"Oh my god, the chicken!" she said going to jump up.
Nick laughed and grabbed her arm before she could, "Don't worry, I have it set."
She smiled and walked over with Nick to the kitchen. She looked at the low lights, candle lit and the food all served.
"Aww Nick! This is so sweet..." she cooed.
He laughed lightly, "Your the one who made the food."
They sat down and had a delicious dinner. Afterwards, Nick went home because he has a meeting tomorrow morning. Ten minutes after Nick left, Claire's doorbell rang.
She opened the door and Aj was standing there. Claire let him in and figured he was there to talk about Angie.
"Has she been here?" he asked, looking tired.
Claire shook her head no and offered Aj a drink. He accepted and she went to get him a soda. She came back and they sat down on the couch.
"So what happened?" Claire asked.
"Well she wacked me in the head to wake me up and so I woke up in not the best of moods. So she rambled on about her bad day and how all I did was sleep. Then I told her not to have a bad attitude, and she flipped out on me. And I told her she could have one of her fits, I didn't care. She said screw you, and left. I've called her about five times, and her cell phone a few times too. She won't answer." he said.
Claire nodded, "Well, maybe you should be more considerate of her feelings. True, you were tired and needed sleep from the week. But it's also true that she had been running errands all morning for you, and you didn't even say thanks."
Aj nodded and yawned, "Thanks Claire. I think I am gonna head over to her house to see her."
Claire nodded and stood up, "Well, good luck I guess."
He smiled weakly and headed towards the door. Before he closed it behind him, he stuck his head inside.
"Hey Claire?"
"Yeah?" she asked turning towards him.
"Thanks for always listening to me." he laughed.
Claire smiled and Aj closed the door, as he headed over to Angie's, to see if he could mend their relationship.
