Who is God and why should I care?
God is the one who created you and this entire universe that you exist in. He is the reason you live, the reason you can read this. He is the reason for everything. All of us guys in this band believe that God is real, and He has done things in all of our lives. You might be saying to yourself that you are too far away from Him to be saved. Romans 8:38,39 says, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angles nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any created thing, shall be able to seperate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord". Nothing you have done, nothing you are ever going to do will cause God to turn His back on you. All you have to do is come to Him with an open heart and He will embrace you. We are all sinners...we have all fallen short of what God wants us to be. But there is good news, He loves you more than anything. He sent His only Son to hang on a cross, to be crucified...the most horrible death sentence...so that we could be forgiven of our sins, and have eternal life and go to be with Him in Heaven forever. So how do you take part in this wonderful gift you might ask? Acts 4:12 says, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved". All you have to do is call out to the Lord. His name alone is all that we need to be saved. If you want to take part in this wonderful gift, then quietly just pray to Him. It doesnt have to be some huge formal prayer. He hears even the softest of voices. Talk to Him as a friend, He will hear you. And give your heart over to Him...confess that you have fallen short of the mark that we are to live up to. And He will come into your heart and He will make you a new person. And I encourage you who are already Christians. Spend more time with Him...He wants us to spend time with Him so badly. For so long I didnt spend any time with Him, in His Word. Pray that He will give you this desire in your heart...this hunger for more of Him. And if you have backslidden, please...get right with Him again...He loves us so much.
