Chapter 1

Brizee stood backstage watching her best friends onstage. She has known them for like ever since they got together, but she has known Nick longer than all of them. She and Nick have been best friends since birth. They have been through everything together. When Nick went on tour, Brizee went with him. They were never apart. Brian, Kevin, AJ, and Howie think of her
as a little sister. They also thought that Brizee and Nick would make a great couple. But Brizee and Nick told them that it would never work. Leighanne, Kristin, Amanda, and Sarah came up to her.

“Hey girl,” Leighanne said.

“Hey,” Brizee said.

“Hi girls,” Willa said as she came up to them.

“What do you want,” Kristin said.

“I got a backstage pass, I want to talk to Nick,” Willa said.

“Forget it,” Sarah said.

“Now, Sarah, being engaged to Howie, I thought his sweet side would rub off on you,” Willa said.

“I can be sweet, but what you did to Nick wasn’t sweet, it was bad, you hurt one of Howie’s friends, that’s unforgivable,” Sarah said. Willa shook her head.

“Look, I got a message from Nick asking me to come here, he sent me this backstage pass, okay,” Willa said.

“He didn’t say anything to us about it,” Brizee said.

“Probably because he was scared of how we would react,” Leighanne said.

“Girls, I’m a new person, okay,” Willa said.

“Yeah, but some of us can’t forget the past,” Sarah said.

The guys came backstage. Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin saw Willa.

“What are you doing here,” AJ said.

“Nick invited me,” Willa said. The guys looked at Nick.

“Nick, are you crazy,” Brian said.

“Come on, Willa,” Nick said. They went to his dressing room. Brizee turned away from everyone and closed her eyes. Brian came over to her.

“Hey, you okay,” Brian said.

“If he gets back together with her, he loses me as his friend,” Brizee said.

“Briz, don’t say that, you know he cares about you, he won’t want to let you go, never,” Brian said.

“I can’t be in his life if she is in it, too,” Brizee said.

“There is no way he will let you go, okay, get that through your head,” Brian said.

“I can’t stand Willa, she hurt him before, she’ll do it again,” Brizee said. Nick and Willa came out holding hands. Brizee turned and saw them.

“Willa and I are back together, she told me she has changed and is a different person,” Nick said. Brizee turned and ran out of the venue. She jumped into her car and drove off.

Chapter 2

Brizee arrived home and ran up to her room and collapsed on the bed and cried. She heard the door open and close and heard footsteps coming up the stairs and come into the room. She felt the bed dip.

“What’s wrong with you,” Nick said.

“Go away,” Brizee said crying.

“Briz, what’s wrong, you can tell me, I’m your best friend,” Nick said.

“No, you aren’t, not anymore,” Brizee said.

“What,” Nick said.

“Our friendship is over, get out and stay away from me,” Brizee said crying.

“No, our friendship is not over, my life will be over if our friendship is over, don’t do this, Briz, please, I need you in my life,” Nick said. She looked at him. He hugged her. He pulled back and looked at her. He kissed her softly. The kiss deepened. He laid on top of her. He pulled her clothes off and pulled his off and they made love. They went to sleep holding each other. Brizee woke up the next morning and saw him gone. She got up and got dressed and went downstairs. She fixed some breakfast and sat down and thought about the night before. She heard the front door open and close.

Leighanne and Kristin came in.

“Hey girl, you okay,” Leighanne said as they sat down.

“I don’t know,” Brizee asid.

“What happened, did you and Nick talk,” Leighanne said.

“Well, not exactly, we made love,” Brizee said.

“So where is he,” Kristin said.

“I don’t know, he was gone when I woke up,” Brizee said.

“He and the guys are at a meeting,” Leighanne said.

“Oh,” Brizee said. She got up and started to wash her dish. She heard the front door open and close. Nick, Brian, and Kevin came into the kitchen.

“Hey girls,” Kevin said.

“Willa got her own record deal, without any help from Nick, they don’t even know that she’s dating a Backstreet Boy,” Brian said. Brizee rinsed her dish and put it in the dish drainer and cleaned up the counter.

“That’s great, so are you taking her out to celebrate?” Kristin said looking at Nick.

“Yeah, I am,” Nick said looking at Brizee. Leighanne saw this.

“Brian, honey, we should go,” Leighanne said.

“Okay, hey Briz!” Brian said.

“Hi Brian,” Brizee said.

“Kevin, let’s go,” Kristin said. They left. Nick stood there. He came over to Brizee and wrapped his arms around her.

“Hey,” Nick said.

“Hi,” Brizee said.

“We need to talk,” Nick said.

“I think I know what is going to happen, you are going to stay with Willa and I’m just your best friend,” Brizee said.

“Briz,” Nick said.

“Nick, I understand, okay, it was just a one night thing, I get it, okay,” Brizee said.

“Yeah, okay, I gotta go, see ya,” Nick said. He left.

That night, the doorbell rang. Brizee opened the door and saw Brian and Leighanne.

“Okay, get dressed in a nice dress and come on,” Leighanne said. They came in.

“Why,” Brizee said.

“We are going to Bernhard’s, Nick invited us, and we said we would come and get you, now come on, you are his best friend and he wants you there, he was going to call you but we told him we would come and get you, so go get ready,” Brian said.

“I don’t feel like going anywhere,” Brizee said.

“Brizee, don’t make us use force, now go,” Leighanne said. Brizee went upstairs and got ready. She came down and they left.

Chapter 3

They arrived at Bernhard’s and went in and went to the private dining room. Nick, Willa, AJ, Amanda, Howie, Sarah, Kevin, and Kristin were there talking. They looked up and saw Brian and Leighanne come in with Brizee behind them.

“Hey, guys,” Nick said. They sat down. Brizee sat as far from Nick as she could get.

“Thanks for coming, all of you,” Willa said.

“We are here to celebrate Willa getting a record deal, and something else,” Nick said. Everyone looked at Nick.

“What do you mean, Nick?” AJ asked. Nick reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. Willa opened it and saw a diamond ring.

“Nick?” Willa asked.

“Will you marry me?” Nick asked.

“Yes, I will,” Willa said. He slid the ring on her finger. Brizee got up and ran out the door. Leighanne looked at Brian and went after her. She found Brizee in the bathroom.

“Brizee,” Leighanne said.

“I’ve lost him,” Brizee said crying.

“No, Brizee, don’t say that, you still have him, he’s your best friend, he cares about you,” Leighanne said.

“I can’t believe he’s marrying her, he knows how I feel, he doesn’t care about me,” Brizee said crying. There was a knock at the door.

“Leighanne, Briz?” Nick called. Leighanne opened the door and let Nick in. Leighanne went out and stood by the door.
Brizee sat on the couch. Nick sat beside her. She stared at her hands. Nick took her hands in his.

“Briz, talk to me,” Nick said.

“I can’t,” Brizee said softly. Nick pulled her into his lap.

“Briz, if you think you are going to lose me, think again, I would rather die than not have you in my life, you are one of the most important people in my life,” Nick said.

“Nick, I’m scared,” Brizee said.

“Sweetie, there is nothing to be scared about, you will never lose me, never, if you need me, I’ll be there, Willa knows that, she has changed, Briz, last time she and I were together, she used me to get a record deal, well it fell through, but this time, she got a record deal without my help, they didn’t even know she is with me, she got it by herself with her
talent,” Nick said.

“I just can’t get past the hurt she caused you,” Brizee said resting her head on his shoulder.

“It’s in the past, I have moved on from it, I want you to do the same,” Nick said stroking her head.

“What about last night?” Brizee asked.

“Last night was amazing,” Nick said.

“And unprotected,” Brizee said.

“Briz, if you become pregnant, I will be there for you,” Nick said. Brizee looked at him.

“What about Willa,” Brizee said.

“We will deal with it when it happens,” Nick said.

“I hate this, Nicky, the way things are, it’s a mess,” Brizee said. Nick kissed her cheek.

“It’ll be okay, sweetheart, everything will be fine,” Nick said.

“Is everything okay?” Willa said as she came in.

“Yeah, just calming her down,” Nick said. Willa sat down.

“Brizee, I don’t want to come between you and Nick, you aren’t going to lose him, and I’m not going to hurt him again,” Willa said.

“I would like to believe that but the past keeps getting in the way,” Brizee said.

“I have changed for the best, you’ll see, I don’t want to come between you and Nick’s friendship, it means the world to him, if he lost you, it would kill him,” Willa said. Brizee looked at Nick. She hugged him.

“Come on, let’s get back out there,” Nick said. They went out and back to the private dining room and sat down. Brizee sat next to Nick. They all talked.

Chapter 4

Three months later, Brizee sat there staring at the tiny stick in her hand. She threw it away. She was pregnant. She knew she couldn't tell Nick. It was his wedding day and he was very excited. Leighanne came in.

"Briz," Leighanne said.

"All positive," Brizee said.

"Oh Briz, you have to tell Nick," Leighanne said.

"I can't, he's so excited, I can't ruin his big day," Brizee said. They went to the church. Brian was waiting out front.

"Hey Briz," Brian said kissing her cheek.

"Watch it, Leigh might get jealous," Brizee said.

"Nah, I know he is my guy," Leighanne said.

"Forever," Brian said pulling her close. Brizee went in and saw Jane, Bob, and Aaron.

"Hey, where's the girls?" Brizee asked.

"BJ is bringing them," Jane said.

"Jane, can I talk to you?" Brizee said. They went to a private room and closed the door.

"What is it, sweetie," Jane said.

"I'm three months pregnant," Brizee said.

"Briz," Jane said.

"The baby is Nick's, it was after he got back together with Willa, I ran out and ran home, he came after me, we were hugging and one thing led to another and we were making love, he went back to Willa, I can't tell him, Jane, I don't want to ruin his big day, he's so excited," Brizee said.

"Tell him," Jane said.

"Jane, I can't," Brizee said.

"You have to, we don't want him to marry Willa," Jane said.

"She has became more friendly to me over the last couple of months, she has changed," Brizee said.

"Briz," Jane said.

"Jane, please, he's happy, don't ruin it," Brizee said.

An hour later, the ceremony began. Brizee sat there watching Nick and Willa exchange vows.

"Is there anyone who has a reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace," the minister asked. Jane looked at Brizee. Jane stood up.

"I object," Jane said.

"Jane," Bob said.

"Nick, you can't marry her," Jane said.

"Jane, please, sit down," Brizee said.

"No," Jane said looking at her.

"Mom," Nick said.

"Jane, sit down," Bob said.

"No, Bob, Nick deserves to know the truth," Jane said.

"Mom, what is going on," Nick said.

"We don't want you marrying Willa," Jane said.

"Mom, you can't control my life," Nick said.

"Jane, sit down," Bob said.

"We don't like you, Willa, you are totally wrong for him," Jane said.

"Mom, stop this, okay, I'm 23 years old, I'm not a little boy anymore, I have grown up," Nick said. Brizee got up and pulled Jane back in her seat.

"Let him go," Brizee said. The ceremony continued. Nick and Willa were pronounced husband and wife. They kissed.

"May I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Nickolas Gene Carter," the minister said. Nick and Willa walked up the aisle. Everyone went to the reception. Brizee sat there. Leighanne sat down beside her.

"Hey, you okay," Leighanne said.

"I'm fine," Brizee said.

"Are you going to tell him?" Leighanne asked.

"Tell what," Nick said sitting down.

"Nothing," Leighanne said.

"Briz, wanna dance," Nick said.

"After you and Willa dance," Brizee said.

"Okay," Nick said.

After Nick and Willa danced their first dance as husband and wife, Nick came over to Brizee. He led her on the dance floor. He pulled her close and hugged her close as they danced.

"Congratulations, Nick, I hope you two be happy," Brizee said. She rested her head on his shoulder.

"Thanks, Briz, and if you think because I got married that I would forget about you, think again, I don't want to lose you from my life," Nick said. She suddenly felt lightheaded. She pulled back and looked up at him.

"Nicky," Brizee said.

"Hey, you okay," Nick said. She collapsed in his arms. He fell to the floor with her in his arms. Everyone crowded around them. Leighanne knelt down beside them.

"Nick, what happened," Leighanne said.

"I think she fainted," Nick said. He noticed her stomach.

"Did she say anything?" Leighanne asked.

"Just my name, is she getting fat," Nick said.

"No, Nick, she's pregnant," Leighanne said.

"What," Nick said. Willa came through and knelt down.

"Nick, is she going to be okay or should I call for an ambulance?" Willa asked.

"She just fainted, Willa, she's pregnant," Nick said.

"Who's the father?" Willa asked.

“Me,” Nick said.

“What,” Willa said.

“The night you and I got back together, when I went after her, she and I slept together, it was unprotected, how far along is she,” Nick said.

“Three months,” Leighanne said.

“It is mine,” Nick said. He hung his head.

“Nick, you know what you have to do, I’ll go file for an annulment,” Willa said.

“Willa, are you sure,” Nick said.

“Brizee needs you, and I know how you feel about her, you are in love with her, I can see it, I want you to be happy,” Willa said. She left. Nick stroked Brizee’s forehead. She woke up and saw him.

“Hey beautiful,” Nick said.

“What happened?” Brizee asked.

“You fainted,” Nick said. She sat up.

“Oh,” Brizee said.

“And I know you are having my baby,” Nick said. Brizee looked at Leighanne.

“I didn’t want to tell you today, it was your big day and all,” Brizee said.

“You should have, Willa knows and went to file for an annulment,” Nick said.

“Nick, I’m sorry,” Brizee said.

“It’s okay,” Nick said.

“I ruined everything,” Brizee said. Nick smiled and shook his head. Brizee looked at him.

“No, you didn’t,” Nick said stroking her cheek.

“Willa dumped you on your wedding day,” Brizee said.

“She knows how I feel,” Nick said.

“What do you mean,” Brizee said.

“I’m in love with you, Briz, I have been ever since we were 18 and I didn’t know how to tell you,” Nick said. Brizee looked at him.

“Oh god, Nick, I feel the same way,” Brizee said. He smiled and kissed her tenderly. Everyone clapped.

Chapter 5

Nick carried Brizee into her house and locked the door. He carried her upstairs to her bedroom and closed the door. He laid her on the bed. He laid beside her. He leaned over her.

“I wanted to be with you for so long, I was scared to tell you because I didn’t want to be rejected,” Nick said stroking her cheek.

“Nick, like you said to me, you can tell me anything,” Brizee said. He kissed her lips.

“I know, but I was scared, I didn’t want our relationship to be different and uneasy,” Nick said. He put his hand on her stomach.

“I see,” Brizee said.

“But I like how it is now, you and me together and our baby, I can’t wait to be a father, Briz, you know how much I want to be a father,” Nick said.

“I know,” Brizee said.

The next day, Brizee was at Nick’s house. Willa was packing. Brizee sat there while Nick and Willa talked.

“I got the annulment, you are single and never married,” Willa said. Brizee looked at her hands.

“It’s my fault,” Brizee said. She went out.

“Briz, wait, it’s not your fault, it was meant to happen, now come on, you can come back,” Willa said grabbing her hand and pulled her. Brizee pulled her hand away and lost her balance and tumbled down the stairs.

“Brizee!” Willa cried. She ran downstairs. Nick came running downstairs.

“What happened,” Nick said.

“I took her hand to pull her back into the room and she pulled back and lost her balance and fell down the stairs, oh god, she’s not breathing!” Willa said.

“Call 911!” Nick said. She ran into the kitchen. Nick turned her over and held her in his arms.

“Don’t you leave me, Brizee, don’t you dare leave me!” Nick said. Willa
came running in.

“The ambulance is on its way, god, Nick, I didn’t mean for this to happen,” Willa said.

“Willa, it’s not your fault, it was an accident, what if she loses the baby, we were just talking about a family and being happy,” Nick said.

The ambulance arrived and loaded Brizee up and they went to the hospital. Nick and Willa followed. He called the guys. They arrived and went to find where Brizee was.

“Sir, you can’t go in there,” a nurse said. Nick walked in and saw them working on Brizee. He heard a machine with a flatline.

Two orderlies pulled him out. They brought him out to the waiting room and sat him down. Willa sat down.

“She flatlined, oh god,” Nick said burying his face in his hands.

“Nick, you have to pray,” Willa said. Brian, Leighanne, Kevin, Kristin, Howie, Sarah, AJ, and Amanda came in.

“What’s the news,” Brian said.

“She flatlined, they are working on her now,” Willa said. Leighanne sat down and hugged Nick. He cried on her shoulder.

“I can’t lose her!” Nick cried.

“I know, no one can,” Leighanne said.

An hour later, a doctor came out. Nick stood up. Brian came up behind him. He put his hand on Nick’s shoulder.

“Mr. Carter?” the doctor asked.

“Yes,” Nick said.

“Brizee is going to be fine, she has a broken ankle and a few broken ribs from the fall but they should heal,” the doctor said.

“What about the baby,” Nick said.

“I’m surprised to say that the baby is fine and healthy,” the doctor said.

“Thank god, can I see her,” Nick said.

“Doctor, how far along is Brizee?” Leighanne asked.

“Well, according to the tests, she is five months along,” the doctor said.

“What,” Nick said.

“Briz is five months pregnant,” the doctor said.

“I thought she was three months,” Nick said.

“Well, the tests say she’s five months along, we did an ultrasound, the baby is at the five months stage,” the doctor said.

“That means the baby isn’t mine,” Nick said.

“She’s in Room 325,” the doctor said walking down the hall. Nick sat down. Willa sat beside him.

“Nick, who did she sleep with?” Willa asked.

“I don’t know, she didn’t tell me,” Nick said.

“She told everyone she was three months pregnant,” Leighanne said.

“She told your mother that it’s your baby, Nick,” Kristin said. Kevin and Brian looked at each other. They went down the hall to Brizee’s room. They went in and saw her sitting there. She looked at them.

“Brizee, who did you sleep with?” Kevin said.

“Nick,” Brizee said.

“The doctor said you are five months pregnant,” Brian said.

“Think back to five months ago, Brian,” Brizee said. Brian looked at her.

“What are you talking about,” Brian said.

“I remember waking up with you in bed with me, but I didn’t think anything happened,” Brizee said.

“Shit!” Brian said sitting down.

“So it’s Brian’s baby,” Kevin said.

“It’s possible, he was naked, I was naked, but I don’t remember anything else, I just remember waking up,” Brizee said.

“Oh god,” Leighanne said. Brian turned and saw her. She ran out and he went after her. Brizee looked at Kevin.

“Go ahead and yell,” Brizee said.

“You two got drunk,” Kevin said.

“I just broke up with Adam and was upset and Brian and Leighanne had a fight and he came over and we got out the whiskey,” Brizee said.

“And the next thing you know you wake up and see him next to you,” Kevin said.

“Yeah,” Brizee said.

“You do realize that this could be the end for them, right,” Kevin said.

“I know and I wish it didn’t happen,” Brizee said. Nick came in.

“So whose baby is it,” Nick said.

“Brian’s, she and Brian got drunk and slept together one night, it was after she broke up with Adam, Nick, she didn’t know exactly what happened, she thought it was your baby, man, she really did,” Kevin said. Brian came in.

“Brian?” Brizee asked.

“She wants a divorce,” Brian said.

“Oh god,” Brizee said.

“I guess it’s for the best,” Brian said.

“Don’t say that, man, you know you love her,” Nick said.

“She hates me now, I cheated on her,” Brian said.

“You were drunk,” Nick said.

“That’s no excuse, I still slept with someone else,” Brian said.A nurse came in.

“Excuse me, but visiting hours are over now, Mr. Carter, an orderly will be bringing in a cot for you,” the nurse said.

“Thank you,” Nick said.

“Nick, you’re staying with her?” Kevin asked.

“Yes, I’m not leaving until she does,” Nick said.

“Well, see ya,” Kevin said. He and Brian left. Nick sat on the bed and took her hand in his.

“I still want to be with you, no matter what, I want to be with you,” Nick said kissing her hand.

“I wish this baby was yours, Nicky,” Brizee said. He cupped her face in his hands. The doctor came in.

“Brizee, there was a mix-up, you are three months pregnant, I’m sorry for the mistake,” the doctor said. Brizee smiled and looked at Nick.

“Thanks for letting us know,” Nick said. The doctor left the room. Nick called Brian and told him the news. He called everyone else. He hung up and looked at Brizee.

“I got my wish,” Brizee said.

“You bet you did,” Nick said kissing her lips softly.

“Nick, I love you,” Brizee said. He smiled.

“And I love you, and I know now that I will love you until the end of time,” Nick said. She smiled. He kissed her tenderly.

“I feel like my dream came true,” Brizee said. Nick put his hand on her stomach.

“I know mine did,” Nick said. Brizee smiled. He laid in bed with her and she snuggled up to him the best she could without hurting her ribs. Leighanne came in and saw them.

“How could you,” Leighanne said.

“Leighanne, I don’t remember a thing and neither does he,” Brizee said.

“You are having his baby, Brizee, you should know what happened,” Leighanne said.

“I’m not, the baby is Nick’s and I’m only three months pregnant, the doctor mixed up the tests,” Brizee said.

“It’s true, Leighanne,” Nick said.

“Leighanne, Brian loves you more than anything, don’t let him go over something he doesn’t remember,” Brizee said.

“Where is he,” Leighanne said.

“Right here,” Brian said coming in. Leighanne turned and went to him and kissed him deeply.

“I’m so sorry, Brian, I love you so much,” Leighanne said.

“I’m sorry, too, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” Brian said.

“I know, I know, I want to go home and talk,” Leighanne said.

“Just one second, hey guys,” Brian said.

“Hey B,” Brizee said.

“Hey Frick,” Nick said.

“Briz, you doing okay?” Brian asked.

“Yeah, my ankle hurts and my ribs but I will live,” Brizee said.

“Well, you rest okay, and Nick, don’t be too hard on her, after all, she is having your baby,” Brian said.

“I will take it easy on her, man,” Nick said.

“Bye guys,” Brian said. He and Leighanne left.

“Ten bucks that they make a baby tonight,” Brizee said.

“You are evil,” Nick said.

“No, I saw the look in Leighanne’s eyes, she is taking him home to fuck him senseless,” Brizee said. Nick laughed.

“You’re on,” Nick said.

“And that’s what I want you to do,” Brizee said.

“When you heal, then ask me,” Nick said. Brizee slid her hand down his pants and wrapped her fingers around him.

“Hmm, how about now,” Brizee said.

“Briz, as much as I want you right now, oh god, we can’t, you fell down the stairs, I want you to be healthy and all better,” Nick said as Brizee stroked him.

“I know you want me,” Brizee said.

“Briz, I do, very much, but you need to rest, okay, I promise as soon as you are better, we will make love for as long as you want,” Nick said.

“Okay,” Brizee said. She removed her hand and they cuddled and went to sleep.

Chapter 6

The next day, Brizee was released and Nick took her home and carried her up the stairs to his bedroom and laid her on the bed. She pulled him down and kissed him hungrily. He laid beside her and they kissed.

“You rest, okay,” Nick said.

“Okay,” Brizee said.

Three months later, Brizee was six months along. They were over at Howie’s. They just found out that Sarah was pregnant and Howie was planning a surprise wedding. Brizee, Leighanne, Kristin, and Amanda sat back and watched as the guys hang around Sarah.

“I wonder if they remember we are here,” Leighanne said.

“Let’s go,” Brizee said.

“Where,” Amanda said.

“Party,” Brizee said.

“Briz, you are pregnant,” Amanda said.

“So, Leighanne is pregnant too,” Brizee said. They left and went to Howie’s club. John greeted them.

“Hey girls,” John said.

“Hey, John,” Amanda said.

“So what brings you girls here,” John said.

“Well, the guys were hanging all over Sarah and acted like we didn’t exist so we decided to get out and have some fun, we have to keep an eye on Brizee and Leighanne since they are pregnant,” Kristin said.

“We aren’t going to drink,” Leighanne said.

“Yeah, we aren’t,” Brizee said.

“I’ll get you two some bottled water,” John said.

“Thanks, John,” Brizee and Leighanne said.

Meanwhile back at Howie’s……

“Nick, have you seen Kristin?” Kevin asked.

“No, Briz is gone, too,” Nick said.

“So is Leighanne and Amanda,” Brian said.

“Where could they have gone,” AJ said.

“They must have left while we were talking to Sarah,” Nick said. Kevin looked outside.

“They must have went somewhere together,” Kevin said.

“I hope they aren’t doing anything stupid,” AJ said.

Howie came out with Sarah behind him.

“Guys, John just called, he said that Brizee, Leighanne, Kristin, and Amanda are at the club, drunk,” Howie said.

“What, Brizee and Leighanne are drinking?” Nick said.

“He didn’t say who was drunk, all he said was they were there drunk,” Howie said. Kevin and Nick got into Nick’s Durango while Brian and AJ got into Brian’s Jeep and they went to the club. They walked in and saw Brizee and Leighanne sitting at a table while Amanda and Kristin were on the dance floor. Nick and Brian went over to Brizee and Leighanne.

“What’s going on,” Nick said.

“How did you know we were here,” Brizee said.

“John called us and told us you girls were drunk,” Brian said.

“Kristin and Amanda are drunk, me and Leighanne have been drinking water, John got me and Leighanne bottled water, we aren’t crazy, we are pregnant,” Brizee said.

“Why did you come here,” Nick said.

“Why do you care!” Brizee said.

“You are my girlfriend and you are having my baby!” Nick said.

“Yeah, so, you guys spend all your time fawning over Sarah because she just found out that she was pregnant, she ain’t the only one, I’m six months along, and Leighanne is three months, and it’s like we don’t exist when Sarah’s around,” Brizee said.

“Stop being jealous,” Nick said.

“Then stop hanging over Sarah, leave that to Howie, he’s her guy, not you, not Brian, not Kevin, not AJ, Howie is her guy, you are suppose to be my guy,” Brizee said.

“Sarah hasn’t been pregnant before,” Nick said.

“And we have, right, gee, Leighanne, where’s my baby at, I lost my baby,” Brizee said.

“Come on, let’s get out of here and away from them,” Leighanne said. They left and went to Brizee’s house.

“I can’t believe them,” Brizee said.

“I know,” Leighanne said.

“Let’s not talk to them,” Brizee said.

“Does Nick have a key to your house,” Leighanne said.

“Yeah, but he can’t get in, I bolted the door,” Brizee said.

“Good, let’s make them worry,” Leighanne said. They sat down and watched movies.

Chapter 7

The next few days were fun for the girls, bad for the guys. Brian and Nick couldn’t get Brizee and Leighanne to speak or see them. Leighanne and Brizee were sitting in Brizee’s house while Brian and Nick were pounding on the door.

“How much longer should we do this,” Leighanne said.

“We have to see how desperate they are for us,” Brizee said.

“Well, it keeps them from hanging over Sarah,” Leighanne said. Brizee nodded.

“Yeah, I have an idea, how about a road trip, just you and me,” Brizee said.

“We can see if Kristin and Amanda want to go,” Leighanne said. She called Amanda and Kristin.

“Well?” Brizee said.

“They are all for it, they will be packed and over here in an hour,” Leighanne said. They heard the back door open and close.

“Oh boy,” Brizee said.

“Oops, forgot to lock that door when I went out to the pool,” Leighanne said. Brian and Nick came in and looked at them.

“What is going on!” Nick said.

“Like you care!” Brizee said. Nick came over to Brizee and pulled her upstairs to her bedroom and closed the door.

“You are so jealous, you know I love you, you know I want to be with you!” Nick said.

“But you aren’t with me, you and the guys are always fawning over Sarah and it’s like no one else exists!” Brizee said.

“Stop it, okay, you know me better than anyone, okay, you know how I feel about you, I love you!” Nick said.

“You sure don’t show it!” Brizee said. He pulled her close and kissed her hungrily. She pushed him away.

“It’s too late, Nick,” Brizee said. She turned away from him.

“Fine, be that way,” Nick said. He walked out. Brizee started packing. She heard Leighanne yelling and she heard the front door slam. Leighanne came into the bedroom.

“The sooner we leave the better, I’m sick of him,” Leighanne said. Brizee nodded. They got their stuff and went downstairs and put it in Brizee’s car.

Kristin and Amanda came and put their stuff in the car. Brizee closed the trunk. They got into the car and left.

“Brian and Nick came over and got in the house to talk to us, it didn’t go well,” Leighanne said.

“Nick walked out,” Brizee said.

“So did Brian,” Leighanne said.

“Briz, Leigh, this is a road trip, they will miss us,” Amanda said.

“Briz, you are having Nick’s baby, Leighanne, you are having Brian’s baby, there is no way they will be out of your lives,” Kristin said. Brizee nodded. They headed north.

Chapter 8

Nick sat in his house. Kevin, Brian, and AJ came in. Nick looked at them and looked back at the blank TV.

“Nick, Briz, Leighanne, Kristin, and Amanda left town,” AJ said.

“What!” Nick said.

“They packed Brizee’s car and left town, we don’t know where and they aren’t answering their cell phones,” Kevin said.

“We have to find them,” Nick said.

“Nick, we don’t know where they are going, okay,” Kevin said.

“So you guys are just going to sit here and do nothing,” Nick said. Brian shrugged.

“What can we do, Nick, we can’t go find them when we don’t know where they are going,” Brian said.

“Dammit!” Nick said.

“Nick, what happened between you and Briz?” Kevin asked.

“I think we broke up or something, I don’t know, I kissed her and she pushed me away and said it was too late, too late for what,” Nick said.

“Well, we have been spending a lot of time with Sarah and less time with our girls, they felt like we didn’t think they were important,” Kevin said.

“Brizee is jealous,” Nick said.

“Jealousy has nothing to do with it, they are feeling left out,” Kevin said.

“And they are right, we are spending too much time fawning over Sarah, she’s Howie’s girl, not ours,” AJ said.

“I don’t care, she knows how I feel about her, she has no reason to be jealous!” Nick said.

Two months later, the girls returned to town. They went to Brizee’s house and showered.

“That was a fun trip, now it’s time to talk to the guys,” Kristin said. Amanda nodded.

“Yeah, we know they love us,” Amanda said.

Brizee went to Nick’s house. She got out of her car and stood there and saw the front door open and Nick came out with Willa. They were hanging all over each other. Willa looked up and saw Brizee. She stopped. Nick looked and saw Brizee. He stopped and they looked at each other. Brizee turned and got into her car and drove off. She went to Howie’s house. She went up and knocked on the door. Sarah opened the door and saw her.

“Brizee, you’re back,” Sarah said pulling her in. She closed the door and hugged Brizee.

“I lost Nick, didn’t I,” Brizee said.

“What do you mean,” Sarah said as Howie came into the living room. Sarah sat Brizee down.

“I went to his house and was going to go up to the door, he came out with Willa and they were hanging all over each other,” Brizee said.

“That jerk,” Howie said.

“Brizee, just move on with your life,” Sarah said.

“Yeah, Briz, you are having a baby, if he wants to be with Willa, let him, start over with your baby,” Howie said. Brizee hugged them and went home and found Nick sitting on her doorstep. She got out of her car and walked up to where he was.

“I thought you weren’t coming back,” Nick said.

“Then you didn’t know me as well as you thought you did,” Brizee said. She unlocked her door and went in. Nick followed her.

“How’s the baby doing,” Nick said.

“Fine,” Brizee said.

“Briz, we need to talk,” Nick said.

“Why don’t you just go find your girlfriend,” Brizee said.

“I am with my girlfriend, I’m looking at her right now, and I was wondering if she would consider becoming my wife,” Nick said. She turned and saw him down on one knee, holding up a ring.

“Why do you want to marry me if you are back with Willa,” Brizee said.

“Willa and I aren’t back together, she and I are friends and we hung out, and she helped me pick this out for you,” Nick said holding up the ring. She walked over and stood in front of him.

“Are you serious about this,” Brizee said.

“Will you marry me?” Nick asked. Brizee’s eyes filled with tears. She looked at him and nodded.

“Yes, yes I will,” Brizee said. Nick smiled and slid the ring on her hand. He got it halfway on and it got stuck.

“I knew your size,” Nick said.

“It has to be the pregnancy, I guess,” Brizee said.

“Oh, right,” Nick said. He put his hands on her stomach and felt the baby moving.

“I haven’t been sleeping because he or she is moving,” Brizee said. Nick leaned down and kissed her tenderly.

“I love you, so much,” Nick said.

“I love you, too,” Brizee said. He hugged her the best way he could with her stomach. He pulled back and cupped her face in his hands and kissed her deeply.

The next day, everyone was over. Kevin, Howie, AJ, and Brian got after Nick for being with Willa but after he explained why, they backed down.
“Me and Briz are engaged to be married and we want to get it done before she has the baby, we need your help,” Nick said.

Three days later, they were at the church. Nick’s family and Brizee’s family were there, along with Brian’s parents, Howie’s family, Kevin’s mother, and Denise. Brizee’s mother and Leighanne were in the bride’s room with Brizee.

“I look like a whale,” Brizee said.

“Briz, you are having a baby,” Laura said.

“It’s amazing to find a dress that fits,” Brizee said.

“Brizee, Nick will think you are beautiful,” Leighanne said.

“I am a whale, fat,” Brizee said.

“Nick loves you, he said you are beautiful, you are carrying his child, you aren’t fat, you are pregnant, okay, just focus on what is going to happen, you are marrying the man you love,” Laura said.

“I know,” Brizee said. There was a knock on the door. Leighanne opened the door and saw Bob standing there.

“It’s time,” Bob said. They went out and stood at the closed doors.

Leighanne walked down the aisle. Then Brizee and Bob. She looked at Nick and smiled. They stood in front of Tim. They exchanged vows and rings. Nick sang Heaven. The guys sang Drowning. Nick went back to where Brizee was.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride, Nick,” Tim said. Nick cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly. Everyone clapped.

Chapter 9

Everyone was at the reception. Brizee sat down at the table and watched Nick dance with Jane. Leighanne sat down next to her.

"Hey, watching your honey," Leighanne said.

"Yeah, he's all mine, Leighanne, all mine, god, I love him so much,"Brizee said.

"I know you do," Leighanne said. They heard a shriek and saw Sarah doubled over. Nick, Brian, Kevin, and AJ ran over to her. Howie held Sarah.

They all took her out to Howie's car. Brizee looked at Leighanne. Amanda came over with Kristin.

"Here we go again," Amanda said. Kristin went outside and saw the guys getting into their cars and following Howie.

"Come on, let's go home," Leighanne said. They went to Brizee's house. Most
of her stuff was at Nick's house.

"I can't believe them, Nick would rather be at the hospital with Sarah than with his new wife, and it's your wedding night!" Leighanne said. Brizee nodded.

"I thought we were past this," Brizee said.

"They could've at least took us with them," Kristin said.

"Leighanne, Amanda, can you two go get my stuff from Nick's," Brizee said handing Leighanne the keys. They left. Kristin looked at Brizee.

"Briz," Kristin said.

"Barely married, and it's over," Brizee said.

"Nick loves you, I know that," Kristin said.

"If he loved me, he would have stayed with me," Brizee said.

An hour later, Leighanne and Amanda came back with her stuff.

"Brizee, you just married Nick and now you are saying it's over, are you sure about this," Kristin said.

"I would do this, Nick obviously cares more about Sarah than Brizee, I mean, he should have came to get her and take her with him but he didn't, he jumped into his car and took off without her," Leighanne said.

"Brizee, just talk to him about it, tell him how you feel," Kristin said.

Brizee looked at her.

"He should know how I feel," Brizee said.

"Nick knows her better than anyone," Amanda said.

Someone pounded on the door. Leighanne looked out and saw Nick. She looked at Brizee.

"It's Nick," Leighanne said.

"Tell him I can't see him, tell him it's over, for good," Brizee said. She went upstairs. She went into her room and locked the door. She heard Nick yelling downstairs. She heard footsteps.

"Nick, she doesn't want to see you anymore," Leighanne said.

"She's my wife!" Nick yelled.

"Nick, you hurt her," Leighanne said.

"I was just being supportive of my friends, okay, I was coming back once I knew what was wrong!" Nick said.

"You should have took her with you!" Leighanne said.

"Look, I wasn't thinking, okay, I love Brizee, I love her with everything in me and I will die without her!" Nick said. Brizee opened the door.

Nick looked at her. She saw tears in his eyes. She smiled and walked to him and hugged him. He held her as close as he could without hurting her.

Epilogue

A month later, Brizee was in the delivery room. Nick was by her side as she gave birth to a baby boy. She held the baby in her arms and smiled. She looked at Nick. He kissed her and they looked at their son. They named him Nickolas Robert Carter. From that moment on, Brizee knew that Nick would never leave her for anything.

Brian and Leighanne gave birth a couple months later to a baby boy they named Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell.

Kevin and Kristin found out that Kristin was pregnant and they were happy getting ready to be parents.

AJ and Amanda got married and enjoying married life. Amanda knew that AJ would never leave her.

Sarah got pregnant again and Howie was thrilled. They aren’t letting anything keep them from having a family.

Nick, Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin were true to their word, they were never breaking up. They continued to make music and tour and took their families on the road with them.
