Chapter 1

Rosalyn and Jamie (her partner) was called on to the scene of a severe accident on 54th street. Rosalyn went to investigate the crushed Mercedes Benz finding the driver still alive, while Jamie walked over to the body of a young female that was thrown from the same vehicle.

“Hey stay with me,” Rosalyn said trying to keep him conscious, “look at my eyes stay with me.” she stated struggling to keep his attention.

“I need medics over here on 54th street,” Rosalyn said to the dispatcher on her radio.

“They will be there as soon as possible,” the dispatcher replied.

“Help is on the way.” Rosalyn explained , “ keep looking up at me,” she coaxed taking his hand “stay with me now,” she continued until the paramedics finally arrived.

One Year Later

“Did you have another bad date last night?” Jamie asked Rosalyn as they ate lunch at McDonalds.

“Yes it was terrible. I wish they would just stop asking so many questions. Everything has to be about me and what I do. Why can't it be about them sometimes and what they do for a living.” Rosalyn explained.

“Ro when you find the right person you will know,” Jamie stated convincingly.

“Yeah, Yeah you have said that to me a million times Jamie,” Ro replied irritated.

“What is it that you look for in a guy anyways?” he asked curiously.

“I don't know,” Rosalyn replied pondering, “I guess someone with a great personality who can dance and I think is attractive.” she explained.

“Oh really,” he grinned, “I think I might know someone who fits those descriptions.”

“Don't even think about playing Mr. Match make on me,” Rosalyn replied glaring at him, “Common we better get back to work.”

They both got up from the table without saying another work to each other about relationships. They then walked out to their cop car and got in policing the neighboring streets until they were called back to the station. They drove back to the police station were they met up with the police chief.

“The owner Tabu  has a suspicion of illegal action going on in his club and would like a couple of undercover cops to come in and put an end to it.” the Chief explained. “Now I need the two of you to go in and solve the problem.”

“Sure, I definitely can,” Rosalyn replied.

“I will go too. Someone has to keep Ro’s ass out of trouble,” Jamie joked with Rosalyn.

“all right, you will be carrying this,” the chief stated handing them each a necklace with a cross on it, “in the crosses of these necklaces there is a small camera and a microphone to record everything you both see and hear while you are in the club,” the chief explained toughly. “Here are your ID‘s” handing them their ID for the night.

“Ok, be at the club around seven o'clock Max and Jake will be in back monitoring everything,”

“Ok. We'll be there,” Rosalyn replied glad to have an assignment to keep her busy that night.

“You may go home to rest up and get ready for tonight,” The chief said dismissing them.

Rosalyn went home and tried to get in a little bit a of rest, but was unsuccessful. After trying helplessly to get some form of sleep she gave up, decided on taking a nice long shower instead. She then put on a black low-cut midriff shirt and tight black leather pants to match. She finished getting ready and drove to the club and met up with Jamie.

“Damn you look pretty fine tonight,” Jamie told Rosalyn.

“Save it for you wife,” she replied

“Don’t worry I will,“ he grinned as they began to walk towards the bouncer who let them in immediately.

Once inside the club they looked around for anything suspicious before splitting up. Jamie went to the bar while Rosalyn walked to the dance floor continuing to look for anything suspicious.

An hour passed before they noticed a two people walk into a small room in the back of the club. Rosalyn looked over to Jamie and both nodded agreeing that was what they are looking for. They both slowly made their way in the direction of the small assembly.

“Hey Howie, who is that?” Alex asked pointing at Rosalyn slowly making her way off the dance floor.

“I don’t know why?” Howie asked suspiciously.

“She looks familiar and she is very beautiful,” Alex replied.

“Why don’t you go talk to her.” Howie suggested.

“Nah, I think I am going to head home,” Alex replied.

“all right, talk to you later then man.” Howie replied before Alex began to head out of the busy club.

Jamie and Rosalyn broke through the open door and barged into the room pulling their guns out.

“Orlando Police Department, put your hands in the air were I can see them,” Jamie yelled taking his attention off them for a split second to pull out his set of hand cuffs as they scrambled out the back door.

“Dam it way to go Jamie,” Rosalyn yelled as they began to chase after them.

Jamie caught one of the guys, while Rosalyn continued to chase after the other.

“Stop police,” Rosalyn yelled still chasing after the other guy.

“Ro wait up,” Jamie yelled to his partner quickly handcuffing the one guy to a pole before he began to chase after her and the remaining criminal.

The guy began shooting missing as Rosalyn took cover behind a tree until he ran out of bullets. She then persisted to chase him, but he was out of sight. She looked around about to give up the chase and head back to the club, the guy then jumped out of the alley knocking her to the ground and taking her gun and began shooting in her direction missing every time except for one shot that skimmed her right arm. He then pinned her down and pointed the gun to her face.

Chapter 2

“Fucking bitch ,” he stated with an angry look in his eyes. “Have any last requests before I blow your fucking brains out,” he stated not noticing someone pulling over and getting out of their car to jump him.

“Fuck man,” the criminal yelled being knocked onto his back, by the stranger.

Rosalyn sat up immediately scared to death of what could happen before being brought back to reality when Jamie came out of the shadows yelling.

“Drop your weapon,”  Jamie yelled to the criminal as he complied. “Don’t either of you dare move a muscle,” Jamie stated pointed the gun from the stranger to the criminal. “Ro are you all right?” he yelled handcuffing the criminal.

“Yeah, I'm fine,” Rosalyn yelled before noticing the blood streaming down her arm.

The stranger started to move towards Rosalyn.

“Don’t move,” Jamie yelled to him pointing his gun in his direction maintain the hold of the criminal with his available hand.

“Don’t he’s ok.” Rosalyn yelled to Jamie getting up to help the unknown stranger up. “Are you all right?,” she asked him gazing into his eyes.

“Yeah I am fine.,” he stated gazing into her eyes recognizing her from the club.

“Ro, common we have to go,” Jamie yelled to her.

“all right hold on,” Rosalyn complained. “Could we meet up in about an hour at the bar over on Woodlawn and 35th street,” she asked the stranger.

“Yeah, sure, um I’ll be there,” he stuttered before Rosalyn walked off with Jamie and the handcuffed criminal.

“Damn I thought you said you were all right,” Jamie stated pointing to her bloody arm.

“I am the bullet just nicked me.” Rosalyn replied.

“Here put this on,” he stated handing her a handkerchief to tie around her arm.

Jamie and Rosalyn took both of the guys into the station before going back to their homes. Once Rosalyn was back in her apartment she began to clean her arm and bandaged it before it had a chance to get infected.  She then got back into her vehicle and drove to the bar where all the other cops hung out when they were off duty.

“Your looking good Ro,” Max whistles. “How about you help me brush up on my anatomy,” he joked.

“Here's two quarters go call your wife,” Rosalyn replied pulling two quarters from her pocket.

“Is it just me or do you guys think Ro needs to relieve a little sexual tension,” Jake asked Max and Tony.

“Jake I think you are mistaking that for your own sexual tension,” Rosalyn joked laughing before getting up.

“Do you want anything to drink?” Tony asked.

“No thank you not tonight,” she replied before walking off to the bathroom.

Rosalyn washed her face still hearing the gun shots go off in her head wondering what would of happened if that stranger didn't show up. She also wondered why he would of risked his own life for someone he didn't know. Especially knowing he could of risked his own life.  After the thoughts cleared out of her head she then make her way out of the bathroom. Rosalyn looked around the bar as she walked back to the table she left from looking for the handsome stranger spotting him sitting back in a corner booth. She then walked over to greet him.

“Hey, I am glad you could make it,” Rosalyn stated sitting down across from him. “My name is Rosalyn Garcia,” she introduced herself

“I'm Alex McLean,” the stranger replied.

“So why did you risk your life for me?” Rosalyn asked.

“Because you would of been killed,” he explained the best he could.

“You could of been killed just as easily.” Rosalyn stated before being interrupted.

“Hey Ro, are you going to introduced me to your friend here,” Jake suggested.

“Jake this is Alex McLean,” Rosalyn replied a little irritated.

“Nice to meet you man,” Jake replied.

“Nice to meet you too,” Alex replied somberly.

“Hey man the guys and I would like you two to join us so we could buy you dinner for saving Ro’s ass tonight,” Jake suggested looking back motioning to Max and Tony.

“Thanks man but I think I am going to back out, I think I am going to try to get some sleep tonight,” Rosalyn replied.

“Could I walk you to your car?” Alex quickly asked.

“Yeah sure,” she replied standing up.

Alex and Rosalyn walked out to her car together.

“Well it was nice meeting you,” Rosalyn stated.

“It was nice meeting you as well.” Alex replied shyly. “Um, could I get a ride home from you?” he asked hoping she would say yes.

“Yeah sure,” Rosalyn replied pausing for a moment, “I have a question for you though, How did you get here?” she asked.

“I had a friend drop me off.” he replied abruptly.

“Oh all right, hop in and buckle up,” she stated before getting in her vehicle and buckled her seat belt before starting the engine.

Rosalyn drove to her house forgetting that she had to take Alex home.

“Um, I don’t live here,” Alex stated.

“I am so sorry, I forgot,” Rosalyn replied. “Where do you live?” she asked.

“Could I just use your phone and I could just call a friend to come and pick me up,” he suggested wanting to spend a little more time with her anyways.

“Um yeah sure.” she replied shutting off her car engine.

They walked up stairs to her apartment.  Once inside she showed Alex where the phone was so he could make his phone call.

“Do you want anything to drink?” Rosalyn asked once he was off of the phone.

“No thank you,” Alex replied looking around the well organized room.

“So what do you do for a living?” Rosalyn asked trying to start up a conversation.

“I..I really don’t do much of anything at the moment,” he answered.

“Well what is it that you want to do?” Rosalyn stated trying  her hardest not to sound like she is interrogating him.

“I really don’t know,” Alex replied making his way closer before planting his lips on hers.

Rosalyn was shocked, but did not object to the kiss as it became more passionate. In a split second it was over with a knock at the door.

“I..I think that’s my ride. I..I better go,” Alex stuttered unable to believe that he just did that.

“Um yeah ok,” Rosalyn said still recovering form the amazing kiss as she watched him leave.

Chapter 3

Rosalyn stayed up all night laying in bed thinking about Alex and who he really was until she dozed off for the first time in a long time. Her sweet slumber was awaken by her alarm clock for her morning jog before work. She arose drowsily and put on a pair of sweats, her running shoes, socks, and put her hair up before heading out the door for her morning two mile run.

When Rosalyn arrived at her apartment Alex was standing outside her door waiting for her

“Hey!” Rosalyn said surprised to see him.

“Um Hi” he replied glad to see her.

“What brings you here?” Rosalyn asked opening the door inviting him inside.

“I wanted to know if you had any plans later today?” he asked walking inside.

“I won’t be doing much of nothing later. Would you like to go catch a movie after my shift?” she asked.

“Yeah I would love to,” He replied.

“all right I will see you tonight at six.” she stated before he left.

The day passed by quickly. Rosalyn and Alex went to the movies and spent the whole evening together. They continued to meet up together as much as they possibly could as they both feel madly in love with each other. One night changed everything when Rosalyn found out something about Alex’s past and tried to get him to face it. Alex ran away from Rosalyn and his feelings for her.

Rosalyn was so devastated that she threw herself into her work and took a dangerous undercover case doing much of the case by herself without her partner. Rosalyn was about to break the case finding who the leader was of the huge currency fraud case, but before she had the chance to find out who the leader was someone found out that she was an undercover cop. One evening on her way home she was brutally beaten, shot and left for dead in a dark ally. During her last few moments of consciousness she thought of all the wonderful times she had shared with Alex.

When Rosalyn awoke she was in a hospital room with all sorts of machines hooked up to her. She found that she was very sore and had difficulty breathing.  Rosalyn felt there was nothing to fight for and that it was her time to go knowing that her family didn’t care about her and had no one in her life to live for.

Alex realized that Rosalyn was right and faced his past in which he had embedded into the back of his mind. After an hour of visiting his wife’s grave he went to Rosalyn’s having no clue about what had happened to her until he was informed by her landlord.

“She isn’t home.” the Landlord told Alex.

“Do you know where I can find her?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I was just told that she probably isn’t coming back. I would go tot he police station and ask them.” the landlord explained.

“all right, thank you,” Alex replied before he hurried off to the police station and confronted one of the cops he had met the night he saved her life. “Could you please tell me where Rosalyn is?” he asked Jake.

“You haven’t heard?” Jake replied shocked that he didn’t know.

“Heard what? Is she all right.” Alex asked worriedly.

“Um, no she is at Memorial hospital. She was doing an undercover case. Somebody must of found out that she was undercover and they severely beat her and shot her several times.” Jake explained trying not to show that he was upset about it. “The doctors think that she could go anytime.”

Alex’s face was white as a ghost as he ran out of the station and caught the next cab to the hospital. He paid the cab driver and told him to keep the extra change and ran inside the hospital asking for Rosalyn’s room number. Once he found out he ran up the stairs not wanting to mess with the elevators to her room. Once inside he saw he hooked up to several various machines. He realized that Jake was right when he noticed her faint heartbeat on the monitor and that she could hardly breath on her own.

“What have I done?” Alex mumbled to himself taking her hand into his. “I am so sorry please don’t leave,” he begged.

Rosalyn slowly opened her eyes surprised to find anyone even there. She then slowly closed her eyes as he heartbeat began to fade until there it completely stop. Alex became frantic calling the doctors in there immediately to do anything in their power to save her. The doctors came and shocked her several times but was not able to revived her heart beat.

Alex broke down and cried when the doctors pronounced her dead. The hospital immediately notified her family even though they cut off any ties with her as well as the police station. Her friends in the police force and her family grieved over her death.

Rosalyn was laid to rest a couple of days later. Alex still couldn’t believe that any of this was true loosing the second love of his life. He constantly blamed himself for her death.
