Chapter 26
Nick
Jessie and I were talking on the way to the restaurant and I abruptly started laughing.

“What's so funny?” she asked.

“Nothing. Just thinking of you falling on your ass.” I replied.

“Its not funny. My butt hurts now. Thank you very much.” She said sarcastically.

“Actually, it is funny. Does your butt hurt when you walk?” I asked.

“Yes.” She replied with a pout.

“Alright. I’ll just have to carry you to the restaurant then.” I said.

“Oh no you don’t.” She warned.

I picked her up by her waist and put her over my shoulder.

“Stop! Put…me…down.” She said, pausing between words. (A.N.- She was in a position that she was staring directly at his ass, it was very hypnotizing. That is why she was pausing between words.)

“You turning into Kevin or something?” I teased.

“You might not want to say that.” Jessie warned in a sing-song voice.

“Oh? And why’s that?” I asked.

“I heard that!” a familiar voice said from behind me.

I turned around and saw Kevin starting to run after me.

“Shit.” I shouted. I turned around again and darted towards the elevator. Jessie still over my shoulder.

“He’s coming, he’s coming, he’s coming, he’s coming…” Jessie chanted the whole way down the hall.

Kevin got into the elevator with us.

“He’s here.” She finished.

Both Kevin and I looked at her questioningly.

“What?” she quipped.

“What the hell was that all about?” I asked.

“Haven’t you ever seen Full House?” she inquired.

“Some.” I answered.

“Well, in one of the episodes, Michelle says that in a situation similar to this.” She replied.

We all got out of the elevator once it stopped. Jessie and I walked into the restaurant while Kevin went in a separate direction. We got a table and started talking.

“Our little game last night was interesting.” I said.

“Yea. We should play that game more often.” Jessie agreed.

“Rachel was on crack or something. I’ve never seen, well heard her like that before.” I said.

“What do you mean? She was acting normal.” Jessie contradicted.

“Well, you must have been asleep or something. Rachel was EXTREMELY hyper.” I replied.

Jessie laughed. “She’s always hyper late at night when she is sleep deprived.”

“She kept saying something about a drink game. AJ wanted to play only because she mentioned the work drinking.” I said.

“Why do we hang out with these people?” Jessie said jokingly.

There was a weird tension between us. I don’t know why. Its just there. A few minutes later, Denise walked into the restaurant. She sat down at our table with us.

“Jessie, your hair looks so cute.” She complimented.

“Thanks. I needed a change and I always wanted to dye my hair purple. Ever since I was 14 in fact.” Jessie replied.

“I’m surprised AJ hasn’t died his hair yellow. Wait, or did he? He’s dyed it so many different colors I can’t remember what he has or hasn’t done anymore.” Denise said.

“Tell me about it.” I said.

“You know. Now that I’m thinking about it, you sort of remind me of him. Your personalities are quite similar, now you even sorta look like him, well you know what I mean.” Denise stated.

“I wouldn’t go that far.” Jessie replied.

Denise suddenly had a serious face, like she was thinking really hard about something.

“Is something wrong Denise?” I asked.

“No, I’m just thinking.” She replied.

“Hun, what is your birthday?” Denise asked.

“November 4th, why do you ask?” Jessie said.

“Have either of you seen AJ?” Denise asked hurriedly.

“Knowing him, he’s probably still sleeping.” I answered.

“Okay, I’ll talk to you guys later.” She said and left.

“What was that all about?” Jessie asked.

“I have no clue.” I replied.
