“Why doesn’t he just ask her out?” Brian asked.
AJ entered the room halfway through Brian’s comment. “Who’s asking who out?” he asked.
“AJ's asking Rachel out.” Kevin informed him.
“Oh.” He said, disappointed. "Wait! I’m AJ! And I’m not asking Rachel out.” He exclaimed.
We all laughed at his delayed reaction.
“I’m not gonna. I don’t even like her in that way.” He stated.
I gave him a look that said, ‘you're an ass so stop lying.’
“Okay. So I think that she is a little attractive. But I find a lot of women attractive.” He defended.
“One date.” Kevin pleaded.
“No.” AJ answered firmly.
“Come on. You know that you wanna go out with her.” Howie said.
“She’d say no. She just likes me as a friend.” AJ said.
“How would you know? Have you ever asked her?” I said.
“Well, no, but I can tell.” He stated.
I stood up and grabbed a copy of our schedule. “Look. Tomorrow’s the Grammy’s. Then the after party. Why don’t you ask her to go with you?” I asked.
“No.” AJ objected.
Brian sighed. AJ is not easily persuaded.
“Fine.” I said. I picked up the walkie-talkie that Rachel had told us to keep with us. “Rach?” I asked.
A few seconds later there was a reply, “What's up?”
“AJ's here and he wants to talk to you.” I gave him the walkie-talkie and lifted my right leg, so it was ready to swing where the sun-don’t-shine if ya know what I’m saying. “Unless you never plan to have kids, I would suggest you ask her.” I told him.
AJ gulped and took the walkie-talkie. “Uhhh…Rach?”
“Yea?” she asked.
“Ya know how there’s the after party tomorrow night for the Grammy’s? Well, I was uh...wondering if you wanna go with me.” he said.
“Okay.” She replied.
He turned off the walkie-talkie. He had a huge smile on his face.
