That night I went and talked with Mr. and Mrs. Hanson, and told them everything. About what Zac did to me, and how I was starting to feel like a bother. They understood, and said that if I ever change my mind there will still be a room open for me. One thing that they did say is that since Jessica, Avery, and Mackie grew so close to me that they wanted me to tell them in a big family meeting. I aggreed that that would be the best thing to do, but I wasn’t sure if I was able to face Isaac and Taylor.
“Mommy, why are we all here? We haven’t had one of these since the time me and Avery took Zoey for a walk and left her in the middle of the road.” asked Mackie
“You’ll find out soon”
“I know what its about” whispered Taylor into Isaac’s ear, “Haley’s leaving, and its all our fault.”
“Yeah, she told me today, but she thinks that its her fault and thats she’s a burden to our family.”
“Thats not true” shouted Taylor and everyone turned and looked at him “Yeah you dumbie the Dolphins are going to win this weekend.”
“Boys and their sports” snorted Jessica.
“Thats enough, we just need to wait for Haley to come and will start.” said Walker looking down at his watch. Little did he know that I was standing in the kitchen trying to gather up the courage to go in there and face all of them.
“There she is” shouted Zac pointing at me as I walked into the room.
“Come and sit down.” said Mrs. Hanson patting the seat next to her on the big couch.
“I’m not sure how to say this, “ I started, staring down at my hands, “But I can’t stay here with you anymore...”
“Yes!” screamed Zac jumping up from is seat intruppting me and doing a victory dance. My plan worked, you’re out of here!” Isaac and Taylor gave him a death glare and looked to me like Zac was in for a good beating that night.
“Zachary Walker that was complety uncalled for, and Haley has told us everything. I hope you like your bedroom, because you will be spending the next month in there.” said Mrs. Hanson
“But mom!”
“Not another word! You can contiune now Haley.”
“As I was saying, Im leaving and probaly not coming back. I have a break coming up in school and I’m going to go visit my Aunt in Ohio, I’ll sit down and really think about things there.”
“You don’t have to leave Haley” said Taylor, he looked so sad, but I couldn’t go back on my decision.”
“Yes I do Taylor, I feel like I’m not wanted here, and don’t worry my house is right nextdoor.”
“But it won’t be the same.” said Talyor giving Zac another death glare.
“Can I go pack now?” I asked with tears forming in my eyes.
“Of couse, but I’d like the rest of you to stay, we still need to talk.” said Mrs. Hanson giving me a hug. I got up and walked to my old room. I had moved my whole bedroom over here, so it’ll take me awhile to move everyhting back over.
As I was backing my things up, I started to remember how sad Taylor looked, but I couldn’t stay there not for him. It bothered me, but I just didn’t seem to care what he thought. On the other hand I keep on seeing flashbacks of earlier in the day with Isaac on the swing. Wait I shouldn’t be thinking like this, and I do need to get backing. Just then I heard a knock on the door, it was Taylor.
“Hey, you need any help?”
“Yeah I could use some.” I said handing him a box. He looked so cute standing there, but I knew that I didn’t feel the same way as he felt for me. I had beening denying it for way to long, I had feelings for..
“Haley are you in there?” asked Talyor hittin gmy arm.
“Yeah, I guess that I just dazed off.”
Pretty soon, we had everything packed up and over at my house, and it was time to say goodbye.
“Bye Tay.” I said making sure that I didn’t make eye contact.
“Haley,” started Taylor as he grabbed me for one last hug. “I...I...love you”
