Chapter 11
***** Brussels national airport*****
"I'll miss you dad, I'll promise to call every week" I told my dad when we hugged.
"I'll miss you too Elka, be sure to behave and take care of Judith, ok?" "Yes dad, I will." we huged for one last time and then it was time for us to head to the check-in desk. We waved goodbye at our dad and turned around walking towards the desk.
"Man, I can't believe we'll be seeing them in about 10 hours, I've been waiting for this day ever since they left!" Judith said smiling, pinching me in the arm. "Yeah, I know, it's so exciting. Man, I can't wait to see their places and meet their families!"
I said as we moved up closer to the counter. "Could I see your tickets and an ID please?" The woman at the counter asked us with one of those forced smiles "sure, here they are" I said in the same forced way as she did and handed her the tickets and ID's. She looked over them, and I felt the urge to read it for her, I think she was kinda analfabetic.
"OK, you're all clear, you can board the plane, have a nice flight" she smiled at us again handing back the tickets and ID's "Thank you" I said and Jude looked at me with the same kinda look I must have given her, because we both started to laugh when we walked to the door. We got in the plane, and to our surprise we had buisness seats, that's so cool. I mean, you can actually strech your legs without hitting anyone in the heels.
The flight was so long and boring, we watched 'When Harry Met Sally' and 'Liar Liar' during the flight. I really hated 'Liar Liar' but I thought 'when Harry Met Sally' was ok. After the two videos we saw I took my discman and some cd's out. 'Let me see, the cardigans, Withney Houston, K's Choice, Backstreet Boys ... yeah, the Backstreet Boys would do.' I poped out the new cd 'Backstreet's Back' and put it into my diskman.
I liked the cd, especially as I got it as a present from Kevin. I remember making fun of him, giving me his own for my birthday. But it had some great songs on it. I liked "As Long As You Love Me" and "That's what she said" best. I never knew Brian could write.
I dozed off llistening to my boyfrined and his friends sing smooth harmonies into my ears and woke up two hours later to Judith calling my name. "huh?" I managed to get out, I was pretty far away "hey sleepyhead, we're about to land, you have to put your seat back up." she said "oh, ok" I got my seat back up and went to the bathroom one last time with a hairbrush, my hair was a real mess, I combed it and poored some water on my face. I must have slept for about 2 hours. I looked in the mirror and realized I was smiling like a todler. I got back to my seat and saw a videocamera lying in Judith's lap. I had never seen it before, we don't have one at home so I wondered where it came from "hey, whose is that?" I asked when I sat back in my seat.
"Oh, Jason, this guy in my economics class let me have it for the hollydays. You always say that it is nice that Kevin tapes stuff, just for later. Now I can tape you guys and we can watch it when we get back." she said smiling. "Oh, ok ... just don't tape embarassing moments would ya?" "Yeah right, that's the fun part!" Judith exclaimed "Haha, you're a real funny girl. Just remember that dad is gonna see this." I said.
The plane landed and we couldn't get off it soon enough, it took us a while to get all of our luggage together but we made it to the doors that give out to the arrival hall at the airport. We would meet Kevin there. We walked true the doors and there were about fifty people standing there waiting and looking for relatives or friends to come out. I scanned the place and emediatly saw Kevin standing there, although he was wearing a fishermans hat and sunglasses I recognised him right away.
I glanced at Judith and she told me to go to him and she would get the luggage. I dropped my bags and ran towards him. By the time I got to him, he saw me and spread his arms for me to run into. He lifted me from the ground and huged me so tight I thought he would never let me go. I drew back from the hug , removed his glasses and we kissed a kiss that was the culmination of months longing between the both of us.
Kevin ended the kiss reminding himself that we were in a public place. He looked at me and smiled the smile I knew so well. "I've missed you" Kevin said and gave me another sweet kiss. "I dreamed of this moment for weeks" I said burying my face in his shoulder, not wanting to let go.
In the meantime Judith was standing there with all of our luggage and she cleared her throat. Kevin looked at her and let go of me and huged her.
"Hey Judith, great to see you again, you look great." "Same to you, how have you guys been?" "Good, thanks." Now I was standing next to Kevin and slipped my arm around his waist, he looked at me, kissed my hair and slid his arm around my shoulder.
"Great, now that your sister and you are in town" Kevin said looking down at me. Kevin picked up the lugage and we started walking towards the car. We stopped at a shining green BMW convertable. I chuckeled and realized he was trying to impress me with his car, he was so sweet. It took us a while to get all of the lugage into the trunk. Judith had to put two bags next to her on the back seat, but we managed to get everything and everyone in the car.
While were driving trough the streets of Orlando I couldn't keep my eyes of off Kevin, it was so great to sit next to him driving his car in his hometown to his house. It was so different. I finaly snapped out of it when I noticed we stopped at a red light and Kevin was looking at me. "What are you thinking about?" he asked smiling. "oh, nothing" "yes you are, you were miles away." he said placing his hand on my thigh "I was thing about how wonderfull this is ... sitting here next to you in your home country driving to your place ..." I said while I picked up his hand and started fidling with his fingers, I looked up at him and said "do you realize I have never seen you drive a car before?"
"no way, you have seen me drive" he said laughing concentrating on the road again "no really, think about it ... over in Europe it's me or John driving ..." He looked deep in thought as I looked out of the window "I did drive once" he said looking at me "watch the road ... no you did not" "yes I did, remember our first date ... well it wasn't a real date, but ... it was the day after we met ... we went into town to look for Jude's birthday present ... it was the day we first kissed" Kevin said chuckeling "oh yeah ... I almost forgot about that. Ok, you win … but I haven't seen you drive since ... I just brought this up because you look really sexy driving a car ..." I grinned at him he looked sidewards and gave me a million dollar smile. I smiled back at him and just relaxed and sat back in the seat, enjoying the view.
