Two weeks later everyone was at Kevin’s place, it was the day that MTV would show the interview where Kevin and Brian would say that they have girlfriends. Howie was in the kitchen, making tea for everyone who liked some. A.J. was comenting on Britney Spears’ video which made everyone laugh. Brian, Leigh Anne, Kevin and I were sitting in the sofa, nervous of what was to come. Nick and Judith seemed to have disappeared somewhere, but they always turn up so nobody payed attention.
“So, you think we’ll be able to get out of the house without girls yelling at us?” Leig Anne asked in general. “Yeah, we have nice fans, they’ll be upset at first, so be sure to not get in the public eye everyday from now on, but they’ll be cool.” Brian said squeezing Leigh Anne’s hand for asurance. I looked at them and smiled... I knew the fans wouldn’t be that mad at them, they’re only together for 3 months, and the fans probably will understand that they have kept it secret a little while to get to know each other and be sure of each others love before telling the world. But what about Kevin and me, I mean, it’s been almost 3 years, I think they’ll be a little less understanding of us keeping it a secret that long ... I’m still not very sure this will work out perfect and the fans just accept me as his girlfriend ...
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Kevin whispered in my ear. “Huh ... oh ... nothing really ... just thinking ...” I stuttered “bout what?” he smiled “Just ... stuff ... we’ll talk about it later ok? I don’t wanna ruin this moment” I smiled back at him and kissed him softly “Ok” he smiled and drew me closer to him, I put my head on his shoulder and laid my hand on his knee.
“Yo Howie, hurry up, the news is gonna begin, you’re gonna miss it.” A.J. yelled towards the kitchen. Howie walked in with 3 cups of tea and gave them to Brian and Leigh Anne. A minute later Nick and Judith came walking in the room hand in hand. “Hey guys ... we missed anything?” Nick asked “Shut up Nick, it’s starting” Kevin said.
“And we’re beginning the news with world shokking news for the BackstreetBoys fans. In an interview we had with them early this week, both Kevin Richardson and his cousin Brian Littrell admitted to have girfriends. Nick Carter said he is dating someone.” Judith looked at Nick “I didn’t knew you would tell them?” “Sory, but they kept asking me, they didn’t seem to believe that I wasn’t dating anyone, I didn’t mention your name though, didn’t say much about it.” he whispered after he got looks from the others who were trying to listen to what was said on the TV. “Lets take a look at the inerview.”
“So guys, you have realy made in the US, lots of girls throwing themselves at you, not being able to stay in one place for more than a few days, now being in the studio working on the next album. One would think you wouldn’t have times for a serious relationship.” Marcus, the interviewer, said. “Well, it is prety hecktic these days, but some of us do have some time for a relaionship.” A.J. told Marcus “Really? That’s news right? Who of you has a girlfriend.” “Well ... that would be me and Brian” Kevin said “Kevin, would you tell us about it, I’m sure you’re breaking a lot of hearts now.” Marcus siad almost smiling
“Well, I’ve been together with Elka, that’s her name, for almost 3 years. We met back in 96 over in Europe. She is from Belgium, she lives there with her dad and her sister and now she’s here in Orlando visiting for the summer.” Kevin had a big smile on his face “Well, from Belgium, isn’t it very hard, I mean, I suppose you guys don’t see each other that often.” “Well, no, being in the band does have it’s downsides to it when you’re trying to manage a relationship. But the first two yeas of the Backstreet Boys we’ve been in Europe most of the time so we saw each other on a monthly base. She tried to travel with us as much as possible, when she didn’t have school. And of course we called alot.”
“She still in school?” “Yeah, she just graduated from college last year, she studied potography. She will be doing an adotional year after this summer.” “Wauw, she seems quite a lady to me” Marcus smiled “That she is” Kevin chuckled shyly “So Brian, tell me about your girlfriend. “Well, her name is Leigh Anne, we’ve been together about 3 months. I met her while shooting the video for “As Long As You Love Me”, she swept me of my feet right away, but things didn’t work out from the start, because we were just gonna head on tour for 2 months, so the relationship would have no chance to grow into something nice. Then turns out she is acting in our next video “I’ll Never Break Your Heart” too. That was a more quiet period for us and we started going out. She’s really nice, she’s and actress and a model.” Brian smiled nervously
“Wauw, seems like both of you have great taste. An actress and a potographer...” Marcus whistled “So, the rest of you guys are still single?” Marcus looked at the rest of them. A.J. nodded and smiled “still single” Howie nodded too “same here” Then he looked at Nick, who turned red in the face. “Nick, you wanna get something of your chest?” Marcus smiled “Uhm, ok, I’m dating some one too.” he said real quiet “You’re dating some one?” Nick nodded “Wanna tell us about her?” Marcus asked smiling, by now all the guys were looking at Nick, quiet surprised he would tell them about Judith.
“Yeah ... well ... We’ve just started going out ... I ... she’s Elka’s sister ... I ... we’ve known each other for a long time ... we’ve been best friends for about two years. I realy hope this works out, because I care for her.” He blushed
The interview got cut there, the presenter from the news, Ulrika, cut in again. “Wel girls, you’ve heard it from the guys themselves, three out of five are taken. We’ll try to get features on the girls as soon as possible. This was the news, don’t forget to stay tuned for TRL with Carson Daily right after this.” .....
In Kevin’s livingroom everyone was sitting still and they looked the girls. Leigh Anne was smiling and gave Brian a reasuring smile and kissed him. I still felt quiet uncomfortable by the idea that thousands of girls would be upset right this very second. But I squeezed Kevins knee to let him know he did a good job on the interview. Judith punched Nick in the stumac and said “yeah Nick, they realy begged you for that information. I would like to know what you would have done if he realy made it hard on you. Wet your pants?” Everyone laughed at the display.
“Not fair, if you were sitting there you would’ve done the same thing” Nick pouted “Oh, you big baby!” Judith laughed “Hey, I’m sory ok, next time I’ll warn you upfront” Nick said not wanting her to make a fool of him in front of his friends. “You should, because now I won’t be able to get out on the streets without being killed by your fans. I’m telling you Nick, thise girls can be nasty” Judith said walking up the stairs to the guestroom. “Hey, don’t you be dissing our fans chica” A.J. yelled “Shut up A.J.” Judith yelled back Nick watched after her and looked at me, and asked “You think she’s mad at me?”
I smiled at him “I don’t think so, she just needs some time. Nick, never do something like that again, you should have asked her if she was ok with it before anouncing it to the world.” “Yeah Nick she’s right, you should have talked with her about this.” Brian nodded “Yeah, I guess so, but I didn’t plan on telling them about her. It just slipped out. Sory” Nick looked at his feet “You should be telling this to her not to us.” Leigh Anne said. “Yeah I will, but not now, I should go home leave her alone for a few hours, I’ll call her tonight.” He sighed and took his backpack and left the house. “That boy still has a lot to learn” A.J. laughed.
