Chapter 2 written by Angie

“Ewww,” Angie screamed. “ That’s the third cockroach I’ve seen! I can’t wait ‘til tomorrow when we get out of this place.”

“Hey it’s only one night and it’s better than sleeping in car.” Jessica said as she stepped on the cockroach.

“Yeah and just to think, two days from now we’ll be in sunny, hot, Orlando!” Angie said smiling.

“Yeah, poolside!” Jessica said as they gave each other a hug.

“Did you hear that noise?” Angie asked Jessica as they looked at each other.

“I just don’t want to know,” she said a little scared. “Let’s go to bed.” They both got in the queen size bed and pulled the covers over their heads.

“I smell food!” Angie said lifting the blanket off her head and sitting up to see what smelled so good.

“One sausage McMuffin and hash brown to go.” Jessica said setting the food on the table.

“Mickey D’s!” Angie said excitedly. She got up and threw her long blonde hair up in a messy bun. “Why are you up so early?” Angie asked.

“I just can’t wait to get to Orlando. I need a new start.”

“Tell me about it!” Angie said looking down at the little engagement ring. “I won’t be unhappy if I never see any of those people again.” A tear rolled down her cheek as she thought of the asshole that hurt her so bad. To think she actually though of marrying him.

“Me either.” Jessica said looking down at her coffee. “Come on and eat before your food gets cold Ang.” Angie quickly whipped away her tears and sat down. “What’s the first thing we’re going to do once we get to Orlando?” Jessica asked as she took a bite of her sandwich.

“Probably pee, it’ll be a long car ride.” Angie said with a smirk.

“Ha ha” Jessica said without smiling. “I think we should get settled and go to Disney World.”

“Sounds great, I’ve never been there.” Angie said smiling.

“Me either, that’s why I think it would be fun. Let’s do it!” Jess said.

“Cool. Let’s hurry and get on the road so we can get there early.”

They finished their breakfast and immediately got packed. They hit the road less than an hour later and headed towards their new life.

“One, two, three…. Florida!” they screamed as they passed the Florida border.

“Only one hour to Orlando!” Jessica screamed to Angie. They both yelled out the window in excitement as the lime green Volkswagen cruised down the freeway.

“Jessica, you just won the super bowl! What are you going to do next?” Angie screamed with excitement.

“I’m going to Disney World! AHHHHHH!” They turned on the radio and sang to the music. Candy by Mandy Moore came on and they both squealed with excitement as they screamed out the lyrics.

“I’m missing you like candy, missing you like candy. So baby come to me and show me who you are baby…” they both screamed in unison. They were having so much fun, listening to music, that they barely noticed that they had arrived in Orlando. They pulled into the driveway of the house that they had purchased a month before. They jumped out of the car and went inside their new house. It was so clean and new and it was perfect for just the two of them. The moving van wasn’t getting there until the next day so the rest of the day was theirs.

“So what should we do?” Angie asked as she sat on the couch.

“Bullshit, get your lazy ass up, we’re going to Disney World!” They both jumped up and down as they hugged each other.

“I’m so happy we’re finally here,” Angie said giving Jessica a smile.

“Me too,” she said as she gave Angie another hug. “You do know that the longer we sit here, the more crowded the lines for Pirates of the Caribbean gets.”

“Fine, let’s go,” Angie said as she grabbed the car keys. They got into the car and headed down the road again.

“Do you have any fucking idea where you’re going?” Jessica asked Angie all of a sudden.

“Well, umm kinda. We’ll figure it out.”

They got on the highway and turned up the radio again. A Song For Mama came on the radio. Jessica looked out the window. She would always tell her mom that this was her song when she was a kid. She looked down at the pendant around her neck. It was a gold locket with a picture of her and her mother inside. She missed her childhood with her mom. They were so close when she was little. She wished she had her life back to do over so she can fix the things in the past. She jumped as she felt Angie tap her on the shoulder.

“Are you alright?” Angie asked shaking her shoulder.

“Oh… umm… yeah,” she said as she shook the thoughts from her mind.

“Well we’re here! I told you I’d find it!” she said smiling. Jessica tucked the locket into her shirt and got out of the car. The minute they got there they headed for the rides. They rode them all day. Right after they rode The Pirates of the Caribbean, they decided to grab a bite to eat.

“What do you want?” Angie asked looking over the menu.

“I think I’m going to grab something over there,” she said pointing to the Sushi bar across the way.

“Sushi at Disney World?” Angie screamed out as Jessica began to walk away.

“Let’s just scream out California!” Jessica laughed and kept walking toward the concession stand.

“Oh great, now I’m all by myself,” she mumbled to herself. She was just about to walk to the cashier, when someone bumped into her, pushing her to the ground.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!”

“Oh that’s okay,” Angie said turning to see a very handsome blonde guy standing in front of her. He had the most amazing blue eyes she had ever seen. They were crystal blue and sparkled in the sun.

“Here, let me help you up,” the stranger said as he extended his hand. Angie reached up and grabbed his hand. She brushed off the back of her jeans and fixed her messed up hair. “Are you alright,” the guy asked concerned.

“I’m fine, don’t worry about it,” Angie said reassuringly.

“No, I’m like the clumsiest person in the world! Let me buy you a drink or something.” Angie was shocked, she had no idea what to say.

“Well…umm….no it’s okay, really,” she said remembering all her troubles with men. It was way too early too even think about guys.

“Oh…okay,” the blonde stranger said a little disappointed.

“I’d better get my food,” Angie said turning towards the cashier.

“Okay, well I’m sorry again,” he said. Angie ordered her food and turned to find Jessica right behind her.

“Oh you scared the shit out of me,” she said startled.

“Who was that you were talking to?” Jessica asked curiously.

“Oh just some guy,” she replied.

“Oh, he’s pretty cute!” she said checking him out.

“Jess stop, I can’t do this shit again,” Angie said almost on the verge of tears.

“Oh Ang, loosen up!”

“Come on, let’s just go ride some more rides,” Angie said beginning to walk towards Space Mountain. They went on a few more rides and soon it became dark. They decided that since they had been riding rides all day, that they should do some shopping.

They were just about to walk into a store when Jessica blurted out “Ohmigod Ang, isn’t that the cute guy you were talking to today” she asked pointing to a group of three guys.

“Jessica please don’t start anything! I’m not ready to get with any guys right now!” she said upset.

“Damn, it’s not like I’m telling you to marry the guy, I just want to talk to them!” Jessica said angrily.

“Okay, fine! But don’t try to hook me up or anything,” Angie said reluctantly.

“Okay, come on!” she said grabbing Angie’s hand and dragging her. “Oh and you might want to take your engagement ring off!”

“No I don’t want to,” she said stopping Jessica. “I’m not ready to give it up!”

“Dude, I’m not telling you to throw it away! Just put it on your other hand,” she said annoyed. “Now come on!” Jessica pulled Angie’s hand leading her to the group. “Forget about hooking you up, look at his friends, maybe I’ll hook myself up!” Jessica said noticing the guy with the tattoos and red tinted hair. “Break me off a piece of that!” They walked over by the group as if they were just “walking” by when Jessica pushed Angie into the blonde guy.

“Oh I’m sorry,” Angie said giving Jessica an evil look.

“Oh hi! Don’t I know you from somewhere?” the stranger asked smiling.

“Oh yeah, hi!” Angie said nervously.

“Two times in one day, that has to mean something,” he said looking down at Angie. Angie turned blushing. Jessica looked at Angie and she turned to introduce her and her friend.

“Oh…I’m Angie and this is my friend Jessica,” she said shyly.

“Hi,” Jessica blurted out.

“Oh, I’m Nick and these are my friends A.J. and Brian,” he said pointing to his friends. Jessica looked over at A.J.

“Hello,” she said in her goofy voice towards A.J.

“Hey!” he said smiling. Angie rolled her eyes knowing exactly what was on her mind.

“Hey, how about you taking me up on the drink?” Nick asked Angie.

“Well….” She thought for a second and then replied, “ sure what the hell!” Angie and Jessica and their three new friends walked towards the nearest stand. Angie took a deep breath and smiled at her new life in Orlando.
