Chapter 9 written by Jessica

“Thank you Orlando!” Jessica said to the screaming audience. “Once again we’re Fantasy and we really do appreciate seeing all you out here to support pediatric cancer. This is a cause that’s close to my heart because I have a little cousin who has cancer. So I’m so glad to see all you out here today supporting little kids with cancer,” Jessica said and the audience clapped.

“This last song we are going to perform for you is gonna be our first single of our self-titled debut album. The single is coming out in two weeks so look out for it. It’s called ‘Love me Right’,” Angie said and the music started.

From the sides of the stage, the guys watched the Angie and Jessica perform. They were amazed at how good the girls were. It looked as if they had been performing their whole life. Nick watched Angie dance and smiled brightly. The two of them had become inseparable for the past two weeks. Every minute they had free they would spend together. Nick never thought that he could love someone like he loved Angie. When he was with her he felt complete and extremely happy. AJ and Jessica were having a great time too. The two would be together almost every night. They either went out or hung out at each other’s houses. A couple of nights they fell asleep, happy to have the other near. Jessica couldn’t believe what she was felling, it was like nothing she had ever felt before. AJ made her fell so good inside. Every time they kissed she felt butterflies in her stomach and her head felt light. She really loved being with him.

Jessica and Angie finished their song and walked off stage. Angie was immediately greeted with a kiss from Nick.

“You were great,” he said to her.

“Thanks, it was a lot of fun,” Angie said smiling. Jessica looked over at AJ who was looking around nervously.

“What’s wrong hun?” she asked him.

“Huh?” he said looking at her. “Oh, nothing. You were great out there,” he said trying to change the subject.

“Thanks,” Jessica said slowly. She could tell something was wrong but knew he wouldn’t tell her. She looked over to Brian to see if he knew anything. “What’s wrong with AJ?” she asked quietly so that AJ wouldn’t hear her.

"I don’t know he’s been acting really weird since we got here,” Brian replied. “So you have a cousin that has cancer?”

“Yeah she’s the sweetest thing. In fact, I think I’m gonna call her right now,” She said and turned to AJ. “I’ll be right back,” she said giving him a quick kiss.

“Where you going?”

“To call my cousin,” Jessica said and walked to the dressing room. She found her cell phone and dialed her aunt’s number.

“Hello,” she heard her aunt say.

“Hey Aunt Patty, its Jessica!”

“Jess, hi! How are you?”

“Good and yourself?”

“I’m great. So what you up too?”

“We just finished our first gig!”

“Really? How’d it go?”

“Great. It was a whole lot of fun. Hey can I talk to Chrissy?”

“Sure,” Patty said and gave the phone to Chrissy.

“Hey Jessica!” Chrissy said happily.

“Hey Chrissy, how are you?”

“I’m great. I miss you.”

“Well I miss you too.”

“Where are you?”

“Backstage at the concert we just did.”

“No way!”

“Yeah.”

“Who else is performing there?”

“A lot of people.”

“The Backstreet Boys?” Chrissy asked excitedly.

“Yup.”

“Oh my God! Have you met them?”

“Yeah, they’re good friends of mine.”

“You’re good friends with the Backstreet Boys?”

“Yeah, when me and Angie met them we didn’t know they were the Backstreet Boys.”

“You didn’t know who the greatest guys in the world are?”

“No,” Jessica giggled.

“Wow! I want to meet them.”

“My mom promised you would and I’m gonna keep that promise.”

“Really!?!”

“Yup.”

“YIPPIE!!!!” Chrissy screamed happily. “I want Brian to sing to me.”

“Is he your favorite?”

“Yeah, he’s so cute!” she squealed and Jessica giggled. “Who do you like the best?”

“I’d have to say that AJ is my personal favorite.”

“Really? He reminds me of you, your both crazy.”

“Yeah he’s pretty cool,” Jessica said laughing.

“Hey Jess, do you miss your mom?”

“Yeah,” Jessica said sadly. “I miss her everyday.”

“Remember Jess, just smile,” Chrissy said remembering the song Jessica would always sing to her. “Will you sing me our song?” she asked.

“Sure,” Jessica said and started singing.

"Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile.”

“Thanks Jess,” Chrissy said.

“No prob, now let me talk to your mom.”

“Ok, I love you.”

“Love you too Chrissy. Bye.”

“Bye,” Chrissy said and handed the phone to her mom.

“She misses you so much,” Aunt Patty said.

“I miss her too. How is she doing?”

“The doctors said she is doing better.”

“That’s great.”

“Yeah, well, I better get going and get dinner on the table.”

“Ok, I’ll talk to you later.”

“Alright, bye.”

“Bye,” Jessica said and hung up the phone. She smiled to herself and walked out of the dressing room to find the others. The guys and Angie were standing together in a corner.

“Hey guys,” Jessica said happily to them and then noticed AJ was missing. “Where’s my man?”

“I think he’s still in the dressing room changing,” Brian answered. “We’ve got to go on five minutes, he needs to get his butt out here. Would you mind go getting him?”

“Sure, be right back,” Jessica said and walked to the guys dressing room. She opened the door and her mouth dropped to the floor. AJ was standing in front of her locked in a kiss with a dark hared woman. Jessica shut the door and ran to her dressing room. She couldn’t believe what she just saw. He was so great to her and made her think that he really cared for her. She felt like such a fool for believing him. After she gathered all her stuff together, she wrote a note for Angie and left. On the way home tears started to form in her eyes as she thought about him. As soon as she walked in the door of the house her cat walked up to her.

“Hey Angel baby,” she said picking up her cat. She carried the cat to the couch and laid down.

“I can’t fucking believe him!” she said out loud. “I actually thought I could fall in love with him. I should of known better than to believe him crap. This whole time he was also with some other chick. She probably fucks her because I wouldn’t. I am such a fool for thinking that he actually cared about me. I don’t think I’m ever gonna really fall in love.” She sighed deeply and looked at her cat. “At least I can always count on you,” she said petting her cat. She closed her eyes and cried herself to sleep.

“So you’re coming back to my place with me?” Nick asked Angie as he held her close.

“I don’t know,” she replied.

“Please,” he pleaded with a big smile.

“Why are you so anxious to get me to your place?” she asked devilishly.

“Well…” he said and started to kiss her neck. Angie giggled as she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned to see AJ with a concerned look on his face.

“Have you seen Jessica?” he asked worried.

“Not since before you guys went on. Why?” Angie asked.

“I can’t find her anywhere.”

“She might have went home. The whole concert thing probably reminded her of her mother.”

“I already called the house, but there was no answer.”

“I have no idea where she is, sorry,” Angie said and turned back to Nick.

“Well, I’m gonna go look for her some more,” AJ said and walked away.

“Now where were we?” Nick said and kissed her neck again. “So you coming with me?”

“I suppose,” Angie said and gave him a kiss. “I’m gonna go get my stuff. I’ll be right back.” She gave him one last kiss and walked to her dressing room. She got her stuff together and changed her clothes. A letter on the table caught her attention and she picked it up to read it.

Angie,
I went home to take a nap. Just thought I’d tell you so you don’t worry. Oh, and if you don’t mind could you give a message to AJ? Tell hi that its over and I never want to see him again. I’ll explain to you later.
Thanks
Jessica

Angie read the letter again to make sure what she read was right. Her face filed with anger as she stormed out the room. She was so glad to see Jessica happy again, and now she was probably heart broken. Jessica was her best friend and Angie didn’t want to see her get hurt. She found AJ in a group of people and pushed him forcefully aside.

“What the fuck did you do to her?” Angie yelled at him.

“What the hell are you talking about?” he asked her confused.

“She left this note,” she said and threw the note at him. He read the note and his eyes widened. Angie crossed her arm and gave him a nasty look. “So what the fuck did you do to her?” she asked angrily.

“Nothing,” he replied.

“Then why the hell would she tell you its over like that?” she yelled.

“I don’t know,” he yelled back.

“What’s going on here/” Nick asked coming up behind Angie.

“That’s what I’m trying to find out,” Angie said still staring at AJ.

“I’m telling you I didn’t do anything to hurt her,” AJ said angrily.

“Then what is this all about?” she said holding up the letter. Nick read the letter and looked over at AJ.

“What happened?” Nick asked confused.

“I have no clue,” AJ said. “Trust me, I care about her so much. I would never do anything to hurt her, honest,” he pleaded.

“Then why is she mad ad you?” Angie asked a little more calm now.

“I don’t know… unless she…” he said suddenly thinking of something. “Oh son of a bitch!” he screamed hitting the wall.

“What?” Nick asked worried.

“Guess who showed up here today?” AJ asked Nick.

“Amber?” Nick asked and AJ nodded his head. “What did she do?”

“Who’s Amber?” Angie asked confused.

“My ex-girlfriend,” AJ answered. “We went out for two months and she was getting really weird on me so I broke up with her. She didn’t take it to well and still insists we are still going out.”

“What did she do this time?” Nick asked.

“I was in the dressing room and she came in and was talking about how she should come over later tonight,” AJ explained. “I told her that we were over and that I was seeing someone right now. She didn’t believe me and told me I was her one true love. Then she grabbed me and kissed me.”

“Jessica must of saw it,” Angie stated.

“I hoped no one saw, but I guess she must have walked in. Damn it!” AJ yelled. “Just when things were going my way that bitch has to screw them up.” There was a short silence and Angie walked over to him.

“She’ll understand, I’m sure,” Angie said trying to comfort him.

“I sure hope so,” AJ said softly. “I need to go talk to her.”

“No, no,” Angie said stopping him. “She’ll be too upset right now. Give her till tomorrow. She’ll be a little more cooled down by then.”

“God, I fell so bad,” AJ said as he put hid head in his hands.

“Don’t worry, it was all a mistake, she’ll understand.”

“I sure do hope so. She’s my word right now, I care about her so much.”

“Well then you better not let her go,” Angie said sweetly. “I’m gonna go home and see if she’s ok. I won’t tell her what happened but I will make sure she talks to you.”

“Thanks Angie,” AJ said and walked away.

“What about me?” Nick whined. Angie turned to Nick and gave him a sweet kiss.

“You’re gonna have to live without me for one night.”

“But I don’t wanna,” he whined again.

“Would you like some cheese with that wine?” Angie teased.

“I want to hold you in my arms all night,” he said and sweetly kissed her lips.

“I’m sorry baby, but I don’t want to leave Jessica alone tonight.”

“Fine,” he said and kissed her again.

“You can give me a ride home though.”

“Ok, go get your stuff.”

Angie walked back into her dressing room and got her stuff. She walked back out to where Nick was waiting.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Yup, let’s go,” she said and they walked out to the car. A little later they arrived at the house. Nick walked Angie to the door and pulled her body towards his.

“I’m gonna miss you,” Nick said looking into her eyes.

“Why? I’ll probably see you tomorrow,” Angie asked.

“Every moment I’m without you it feels like an eternity.”

Angie smiled at him and gave him a sweet kiss. “I know what you mean,” she said and kissed him again. They stood there wrapped up in each other’s arms.

“I better get going,” Nick said and gave her one final goodnight kiss. “Bye.”

“Bye,” Angie said as she watched him walk away. She smiled and walked into the house. Looking around she found Jessica asleep on the couch. Her smile faded as she saw the dried tears on her best friend’s face

“Poor baby,” Angie said out loud and went to bed.

Jessica woke up the next morning still on the couch. Her neck ached and she rubbed it to try the sooth the pain. She looked up to see Angie in the kitchen making coffee.

“Oh my God you’re home!” Jessica said surprising Angie and she jumped.

“You scared the shit out of me,” Angie said as Jessica got off the couch.

“What are you doing here?” Jessica asked.

“I kind of live here.”

“Yeah, but you’re usually with Nick.”

“I wanted to see how you are doing.”

“I’m fine,” Jessica lied.

“What happened?” Angie asked like she didn’t know.

“I saw AJ kissing some chick,” Jessica replied nonchalantly as she pored herself a cup of coffee.

“Oh, are you ok?”

“Yeah, it’s my fault anyway. I mean, I should of known better than to think I could fall in love with him.”

“Jess, don’t blame this on yourself.”

“I just can’t believe I believed all his crap. All this time he was with some other bitch behind my back.”

“Why don’t you talk to him? I’m sure he has a reasonable explanation for all this.”

“I doubt it.”

“You care for him don’t you?” Angie asked.

“A lot, more that I’ve ever cared for a guy before.”

“Then I’d give him a chance to explain,” Angie suggested. Jessica thought for a minute and then made her way to her room. As she got dressed she heard the doorbell ring. She ignored it and finished getting dressed.

Back in the front room, Angie went and answered the front door.

“Hey AJ,” Angie greeted. He looked extremely tired and upset. “You ok?” she asked.

“I don’t know. Do you think she’s gonna talk to me?” he asked hopeful.

“There’s no harm in trying,” she said and pointed to Jessica’s room. “She’s in her room.”

AJ smiled at Angie and walked to Jessica’s room. He took in a deep breath and knocked on the door.

“Yeah,” Jessica yelled from inside. Aj opened the door slowly and walked inside, shutting the door behind him. Jessica was looking through her closet and AJ stared at her. He thought she was so beautiful and didn’t want to let go of her. Jessica turned around and saw him standing there.

“What do you want?” she asked angrily.

“I wanted to explain everything to you,” he said.

“What is there to explain? You just used me as one of your little hootchies and I caught you before you could hurt me even more,” She said as she put some clothes away in her closet.

“No baby, you have it all wrong. She means nothing to me, I swear.”

“Who the fuck is she?” Jessica yelled and sat on the bed. AJ walked over to the bed and sat next to her.

“She’s my ex,” he explained. “She still think we are together even though I have told her many times that we are not. She was at the show and told me that I was her one true love. I told her to get away and that I was seeing someone. She wouldn’t leave and she kissed me. I meant nothing by it, I swear. I care about you too much to hurt you.”

“Why should I believe you?” Jessica asked as she got up and started walking towards the door.

“Because I love you,” AJ blurted out

Jessica stopped dead in her tracks, not able to move. ‘He loves me?’ she asked herself. She turned around and looked at him.

“What did you say?” she asked still not sure she heard him right. AJ stood up and walked towards her.

“Ever since the first time I saw you I knew you were something special,” he began. “When we first kissed I felt something that I have never felt before. After that every moment I was without you I wanted to be with you. And when I’m with you I don’t want to leave. You’re the most amazing woman I have ever met. You’re sweet, funny, crazy, smart, sexy, everything I’ve ever wanted in a girl.” He took her hands and looked into her eyes. “I love you.”

A single tear dripped down her face as his words ran through her head.

“You love me?” she managed to choke out.

“With all my heart,” AJ said as he whipped the tears from her face. “I really want to make this work, please forgive me.”

Jessica looked at him and could see the sincerity in his eyes. She smiled and leaned forward to give him a sweet kiss.

“Thanks,” AJ said as he pulled her close. They stood there in silence, wrapped up in each other’s arms for what seemed like forever.

“Jess, I gotta know something,” AJ said breaking the silence.

“What’s that?” Jessica asked looking up at him.

“Do you feel the same way?” he asked.

“AJ, I… I don’t know,” she said breaking away from his embrace. “I’m not even sure what love is. I can’t really tell you I love you if I don’t know what it is. I’ve never been in love before and I need to do a lot of sole searching before I am. What I do know is that I care for you a lot. After I saw you kissing that girl I was so upset I cried.” She stopped for a second and walked over to her bed. “I’ve never cried over a guy before. I’ve never felt like this for a guy before. Frankly, I’m a little scared. I’m worried I might get hurt.” Jessica looked down as the ground and breathed in deeply. AJ walked up to her and lifted her chin so he could see into her eyes.

“I’m never gonna hurt you,” he said softly.

“I know it’s just…”

AJ silenced her with a kiss “Its ok, I understand. Just telling that you care for me is good enough,” Aj said. Jessica smiled at him and gave him a sweet kiss.

“Thanks for understanding,” she said and kissed him again.
