Chapter 10
***ZAC***

"What’s up Zac?" Taylor asked me. I was sitting in the living room watching the TV without paying any attention to it.

"Huh?" I asked, jerking to attention.

"I said ‘What’s up, Zac?’," he repeated.

"Oh. Nothing," I answered.

"What’s wrong?"

"Huh? Nothing. Why do you ask?"

"Well, when you’re off in your own little world it usually means that something’s wrong. So what’s wrong?"

I sighed in defeat and told Tay what was up. "See, it’s like this. I like Snow. Like, more then a friend. But I don’t know if I should tell her. Maybe she’s just trying to use me like Alina did."

"Ok," Taylor said, thinking about it. "Do you think she likes you?"

"I don’t know. I think so."

"Why do you think so?"

"I’ve been to her website, but that’s just saying how she thinks I’m so hot," I told him, "but I don’t know if she just likes me for the whole fame thing or what."

"Have you talked to her about it?"

"Not really. Do you think I should?"

"Yeah. I mean, if you like her, maybe she really likes you."

"I guess. Maybe I’ll stop by her house or something."

"Yeah," Taylor agreed. "I’ll talk to you later." He left me alone.

Should I ask her out? I didn’t know. I mean, if I were just a normal 14 year old boy then the answer would’ve been a Hell yeah! But when you’ve got the whole professional musician thing going on, then it’s hard to tell who your real friends are. Who likes you for you, or who likes you for your fame. But I couldn’t live my life wondering, I made up my mind. I would go to her house today.

"I’m going to Snows!" I called as I walked out of the house. "I’ll be back later!"

I walked down the street and kept going until I got to Snow’s house.

I knocked on the door and suddenly the door was open and an Asian teenage girl rushed out. It was Sabrina.

"Um, hi?" he said as Snow’s mom came to the door.

"Zac, right?" she asked,

"Yeah."

"Snow’s upstairs. I’ll go get her. You can wait here."

"Ok." I sat down on the couch and waited for Snow. I noticed some pictures on top of the TV cabinet and went to look at them. There were pictures of all Snow, Sabrina, Samantha and Seth. And there were pictures of other family members.

"Hey, Zac," Snow said, coming up behind him, sounding very disappointed.

"Hey," I said. "What’s wrong?"

She sighed. "Let’s go outside."

"Ok." I said. We went outside and sat in the grass against a tree.

"We’re moving again," she said.

"What?" I asked, part in shock.

She nodded. "We’re going back to England."

"Why?"

"Dad’s job."

"But—but you just moved here."

"Yes. Back in like, August. But now we have to move again."

"Then I guess it doesn’t matter anymore what I was going to ask you," I said quietly.

"What were you going to ask me?" she asked, her eyes searching mine.

"Well," I said. "I was going to ask you if you wanted to go out."

She looked down at the grass, looking disappointed. "Yes, well, my answer would’ve been yes."

"Do you really have to move?" I asked.

She sniffled. "Yes."

"It’ll be ok," I told her, putting my arm around her shoulder. She leaned her head on me.

"They always do this," she said. "Every time I start to make friends, we end up having to move. I hate it!"

"It’ll be ok," I said again. "I can come visit you. And you can fly back to visit me. We can make it work. And you still have your old friends back there."

"I guess…"

"I know," I said, lifting her chin up. As if mechanically, our lips met and we were kissing.
