Chapter 8
***ZAC***

It was a week later and Snow and I had made our plans to meet at a park down the street from my house.

I was waiting anxiously, a baseball cap pulled down over my hair, waiting, when someone called my name.

I looked up. It was her. Snow. She looked even better in real life than in her picture.

"Snow?" I said uncertainly.

"Zac?" she replied.

"Yeah, that’s me!" I flashed her a smile to die for. She smiled back.

"So, I guess I was smart to believe you, huh?"

"If you’re a Hanson fan, then I’d say Hell Yeah!" I replied.

"So, now that we’ve met, what do you wanna do?" she asked, sitting down on a swing next to me.

"I dunno, wanna come over and play some video games?" I asked, not sure what else to suggest.

"Sure. I told my mum I was going to meet some friends to hang out."

"Oh," I said. "Hey! I love your accent. ‘Mum’" I mimicked her.

She laughed.

So we went over to my house.

"Hey Zac, who’s this?" Taylor asked as they entered the house.

"I found her at the park! Her name’s Snow! Can I keep her?"

Taylor laughed. "You’ll never forget that," he muttered as he left the room.

"What was that all about?" Snow asked, sounding confused.

"Inside joke, long story, had to be there!" I said, leading her into the family room. Surprisingly, no one was there.

"Pick a game, any game," I said gesturing to the giant pile of N64 and Playstation games.

"Oooh! Mortal Kombat 4!" she exclaimed, holding up the N64 game. "My favorite!"

I put the game in the system and put it on two player.

"Subzero!" I said, claiming a character.

"Katrina," Snow claimed her character. "Usually I’m Sonya, but I like Katrina’s outfit better."

I looked at what the video game chick was wearing. Very nice, I nodded in approval.

We began our game.

"Hey!" I exclaimed as she began uppercutting me over and over again. "Do something else!"

"Like this?" she replied, making her player whip out her weapon, her fans, and began hitting Subzero with them over and over again.

"I think we need a rule!" I exclaimed.

"Nope!" Snow said, grinning madly while kicking Subzero’s ass.

"Yes! No using the same move over and over again like that!"

"No! I can’t win any other way!" she said, pausing the game in mid uppercut.

"My point exactly," I said, smiling at her.

"I win!" she exclaimed, turning back to the game, un-pausing, and uppercutting 3 more times.

I threw down the controller in defeat. No point in arguing.

I decided then that Show was…what’s the word? Well, competitive and always had to win, but I liked her. I needed a good competitor! Ike and Tay were too easy, and the younger kids were way too easy! But Snow…she was good…too good…

"I’ll beat you," I told her.

"Sure!" she said with a laugh. "Maybe in another dimension or lifetime!"

"How’d you get so good?" I demanded.

"Live in Minnesota. Snow from October to March! April to May all wet. I’m inside a lot!"

"Oh."
