It was 2:00 am when there was a knock on mine the hotel room door. I was still half asleep as I groggily got up and walked to the door. I didn’t even bother putting on any clothes.
I opened the door, only to see a police officer there.
"Mr. Hanson?" he said.
"Yeah?" I said, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
"I have some bad news about your parents."
"Come in," I said. "Hold on a sec while I get my brother."
I quickly walked to Isaac’s room.
"Ike! Wake up!" I demanded.
"Wha_?" he said, waking up. He looked at the clock beside his bed. "Taylor, its 2:00 in the fucking morning."
"Ike, there’s a cop here. He says he has bad news about Mom and Dad."
Isaac leapt out of bed and threw on a pair of pants.
"Taylor, put on some pants," he said, eyeing my boxers.
"Right,"I said, and ran to my room to quickly change.
"Officer," Isaac said. "I’m Isaac Hanson."
"Officer Pasley," he said. "I’m afraid I’ve got bad news about your parents."
"What is it?" I asked.
"I’m afraid their cab was hit by a drunk driver this evening."
"What?" Isaac whispered.
"They’re ok though, right?" I asked.
Pasley looked down and sighed. "They were killed instantly," he whispered.
Isaac and I sat there in shock.
"We, uh, need someone to come down and identify the bodies."
Isaac nodded solemnly as a tear slid his cheek. "Now?" he asked.
"Whenever’s good for you," Pasley said.
Ike nodded. "Just let me get dressed.
Pasley nodded.
I sat there, still in shock, as Isaac left the room to get dressed. 2 minutes later he was back and he and Pasley left.
I never returned to my room. I just sat there on the couch all night. Isaac didn’t come home for a long time, not until around 6:00 am. He had to call our manager and publicist and everything.
"Taylor, what are you doing in here?" Zac asked as he entered the room at around 7:00.
"Zac," Taylor replied, a quaver in his voice. His eyes were red and puffy, with dark rings around them showing off his virtually sleepless night. "There was an accident last night."
