The summer went by with Nick and Jess falling more and more in love. They had been writing a song together that Jess was going to perform on their last night together. It was a little funny song that they had a lot of fun writing. It was called, "Did I Shave My Legs For This." (AN: This is also a Deana Carter song) It was 4:30 and Jess was at the hotel with the guys getting ready to go.
"Baby, you ready yet?" Nick yelled.
"Coming!" As she stepped into the room where all the guys were they all started hooting and hollering. She blushed.
“Aw, quit it!” she said. Jess stayed as close as to Nick as possible because they knew this was going to be there last night together in a while. Although they both knew they were in love, they hadn’t had sex yet. Jess stopped it when it got too far, and Nick respected that.
As they got closer to the Club they began to act like this was just another ordinary night out. At 7:00, Jess went up to perform the song she and Nick had written. The guys were right in front and hooted for her as she got onstage.
“Alright, this is a new song written by my boyfriend and I, it’s a little different but I hope you like it.”
Flowers and wine
is what I thought I would find

After she finished the song, everyone cheered and gave a standing ovation. Jess returned to the guys and was greeted by a long kiss.
“That was hilarious!” Nick said. They all laughed and then Jess drug Nick to the dance floor. Just as they did, their song came on. They had picked Lonestar’s ‘Amazed’ because they knew it fit them well. Jess held onto Nick through the whole song and even after it was over. She had tears in her eyes when she finally looked at him again.
“Please don’t cry baby,” Nick said.
“I can’t help it, I love you too much to let you leave tomorrow.”
“Believe me, I don’t want to leave you either, especially with your dad, but I have to.”
“I know,” she said sniffing.
“Come on, let’s ditch the guys and go spend some time alone.” She smiled and nodded. She hugged them and kissed their cheeks and said goodbye to the guys, and her and Nick made their way back to her house.
On the way, Jess asked, “Can I use your cell to call the party dad’s at? To see if he is coming home or not.”
“Sure.” She dialed the number and a female answered.
“Hello?”
“Wendy?” asked Jess.
“Yes, Jessica sweetie is that you?”
“Yeah, Wends, how is my dad?”
“Drunk as always. He won’t be coming home tonight. You’ll be lucky if he gets back by tomorrow afternoon.”
“Thanks Wends, I gotta go.”
“Bye.” She hung up and said, “No problem with him being there.” They got to the house and went inside. They sat down in the living room and clicked on the TV.
“I’m gonna go get in some pjs. You can stay here or wait in my room.”
“I’ll wait in your room.” Jess grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom. She washed her face and changed into some pjs, brushed her teeth and hair and was done. When she came into the room she found Nick looking at a picture of them together. Jess then thought about him leaving again and started crying. She ran to him and he held her.
“I love you Jessica, I really do.” He said holding her head between his hands and kissed her.
“Show me,” she said.
“What?” He asked surprised.
“Show me how much you love me.” And he needed nothing more than that and kissed her. They couldn’t count the number of times they made love that night but finally fell asleep in each other’s arms.
The next morning, Jess woke up happy as ever. But her smile soon faded as she heard a car start outside. She ran to the window to see Nick in his truck. She could tell he was crying. Just then he jumped out of his truck as if he was coming back in to say goodbye. But he stopped himself and looked up at the sky. Jess could see how hard he had been crying. A tear fell down her cheek as she watched him drive away. She walked back to her bed and found a note where Nick had been. She opened it, crying harder this time.
Dear Jessica,
I know this isn’t the best way to say goodbye, but if I would have done it in person, I wouldn’t be able to leave. I don’t know when we will see each other again, but I am very sure we will. I love you. You are my first love and I will always remember you no matter what happens. Promise me you wont forget me, I wont forget you. I will think of you every day. I understand if you hate me for saying goodbye this way or making love to you and then leaving. I want you to know I did those things for a reason. The reason being I love you. I know this letter cant make up for the time we are apart but I hope it leaves you with the knowing that we will always be together, even when we are apart. You have touched me in ways no one has. ‘Baby, I’m amazed by you.’ Please don’t forget me.

By now Jess was in full tears and she just wanted to die. She couldn’t believe he was gone. But one thing she did know: They were in love and nothing could come between them. They would always be together...Always and Forever.
