Lance solomly entered the dark cementary.
The had just recently put up her headstone, only two weeks
after her burial. He never meant for this to happen.
He cared so much, even if it didn't show at times.

~How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace.
When I stand here taking every breath with you.
You're the only one, who really knew me at all.~

Cold. The bitterness of her death was as chilling
as the cool autumn air. Who would have thought she
would have killed herself? She had everything she could
ever want. But the note she left said much different.
Much different.

~How could you just walk away from me?
When all I can do is watch you leave.
Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain,
And even shared the tears.
You're the only one, who really knew me at all.~

He was broken up by all of it. The other four had
noticed a drastic change in their deep voiced member. He
seemed as if he didn't care anymore. The dark circles under
his eyes were due to sleepless nights. nights were he would
lay awake and wonder about his life. Was it really
worth it? Living the famous life? He felt so lost without her.

~So take a look at me now.
Oh theres just an empty space.
And theres nothing left here, to remind me
Just the memory of your face.

So take a look at me now.
See theres just an empty space
And you coming back to me, is Against the odds.
And thats what I've got to face.~

What killed him the most was what she had said.
It feels as if you don't love me anymore Lance.
She wrote him. And your the only person who did
love me. Why should I live when I'm not loved?

But he did love her. He loved her so much.
It was just hard to tell her since he was always
working with the group. He just wished he could have
said goodbye.

~I wish I could just make you turn around.
Turn around and see me cry.
Theres so much I need to say to you.
So many reasons why.
You're the only one, who really knew me at all.~

Tears streamed down his face as he read the words
on the paper. It had taken him so long to get it perfect.
But now he would read them, and he prayed she could hear.

"Hey Lacey, its me. I just wanted to tell you how
sorry I am. I know *NSync took me time with
you away. But you have to understand it was my dream.
I never meant to put it in front of you. I love you.
I love you so much, I was gonna ask you to marry me
when I got back from tour. But, we can't now."

~So take a look at me now
Oh theres just an empty space
And theres nothing left here, to remind me
Just the memory of your face.

So take a look at me now.
See theres just an empty space.
But to wait for you, is all I can do
And thats what I've got to face.~

Lance placed the ring on the base of the stone.
Slowly, he ran his fingers over the engraved letters.
LACEY STEVENS
JULY 21, 1979 - APRIL 5, 1999
LIVE LIFE FULLY, AND THE END WILL NEVER COME

"Well Lace, I have to go now. Just, remember
I will always love you and nobody else."

~Take a good look at me now
Cause I'll still be standing here.
And you coming back to me, is against all odds
Thats the chance I've got to take.~

Lance walked away from her grave, leaving the
diamond at the stone. What he didn't see, was
the glisten from the ring. A tiny sparkle in the
dark night, a sign from heaven.

~Take a look at me now~
