Chapter 26
After The Show
"Kat baby, I am so proud of you." JC said as they entered the 'official' after party being held at club New York hand in hand. Kait smiled and blushed. "2 awards! Thats great for new artists."
"Look whos talking Joshy. What about you?" It was JC's turn to turn pink in the cheeks. Kait just laughed and nudged his sides. "4 awards is like.. woah."
"Okay, so we both did well tonight. Thats setteld. Now lets go mingle." He led her through the crowd to Lenny Kravitz. JC knew how much she loved his music, and also that she has never met him before. Most everyone had changed into more comfortable outfits for the post-party. Kait had a pair of tight black leather pants and a pink tube top. JC was wearing a black muscle shirt under a leather jacket along with a pair of baggy jeans. Their stylists thought the two outfits would look cute with eachother, and they did. The two looked perfect for one another.
After being introduced with eachother and chatting for a bit, the couple ventured over to the bar. An old yet familiar song came on, and Kait leaned over to JC. "Do you remember this song?"
"Of course I do. How could I forget the song we first slow danced to?"
"I don't know, but if you did forget I would have had to kill you." JC rolled his eyes and pulled Kait to the dance floor. Once they began to dance, Kait began to play with the hairs at the nape of his neck. "What gets me is- this is an MTV party. Why are they playing S Club 7?"
"I don't know, but I'm glad they are." JC pulled Kait closer and enjoyed the rosy scent of her hair. "Kat.."
"Hmm?"
"Will you sing to me?"
"Of course I will Joshy." Kait cleared her throat and picked up from the first chorus.

Kait stopped singing and closed her eyes, resting her head on JC's shoulder. It was a picture perfect moment. Their bodys were so close, and moving in the same rythmic movement. Kait so safe in JC's arms, she just wanted to stay there for the rest of her life. Safe and with him. But sadly, the song ended and was replaced with a more up-tempo one.
"Excuse me while I visit the little girls room." Kait said softly.
"Alright.. want anything to drink?"
"I'm fine Joshy. I'll be back in 5." They shared a quick kiss on the lips then Kait split for the bathroom. Once in, the events of the night came back to her. Everything that had happened at the show, especially her encounter with AJ. I wish he knew what he meant by what he said. Kait thought deeply. I can't quite put my finger on.. WAIT! The notes, the ones we got the other day. Did he send them?
Kait mentally scolded herself. AJ would never do that. He knows better than to stoop that low! But then again.. you haven't talked to him in a while and you never know if he would. Would he?
