Chapter 1

Chapter 1

*~4 Years Later~*

Haley stood in the airport waiting for Justin. He had called her two days ago to tell her that he was coming back to Tennessee for almost two months. He said he need a break from all the fame and fans. She still couldn't believe all that happened to him during the past four years. He and his group had sold millions of records, received many awards, and got millions of fans.

"Oh my God, Haley, is that you?" someone asked from behind her.

Haley spun around to face Justin. She grinned, jumped on him, and gave him a hug, "I missed you so much!"

Justin put her down to get a look at her. Her brown hair was now cut up to her shoulder, she had gotten rid of her glasses, she had grown about two inches, and had lost a lot of weight. She was skinny before, but now she was really thin.

"Wow, you look great," he complimented.

"Thanks, you do, too." Haley said, returning the compliment.

Justin had definitely changed, he looked like an adult now. He grew at least a foot, cut his hair, and everything else about him was different.

"Come on, let's go get your bags," she said.

They walked down the hall to the baggage claim and waited for Justin's bags. They got them ten minutes later and headed to the escalator to get out of the airport. They walked past the cars in the crowded parking lot until they reached Haley's car.

"Niiiiice..." Justin said, impressed as he looked at the car, a silver BMW, "Can I drive?"

Haley laughed and pulled out her keys, "Whatever makes you happy."

Justin grinned and hopped into the driver's seat. Haley laughed and climbed in next to him.

"I was thinking we can drop my bags off at home and then we can go grab a bite to eat. How does that sound?" he asked.

"Well...I guess that's okay," she said, hesitating a little.

"You guess it's okay? What's wrong?" Justin asked.

"Nothing, never mind. It sounds fine," she replied.

Justin backed out of the parking space and went down the ramps to the exit. He pulled out onto the highway, looking at his surroundings.

"Wow, they haven't changed anything," he said, surprised.

"Well, you've only been gone four years." Haley pointed out.

Justin laughed and turned his attention back to the street signs. He smiled as they drove by the movie theater, pizza place, and basketball court where he used to hang out with his friends. He turned the corner onto his old street. As they drove down the street, Haley filled him in on what his old friends were up to. They pulled up in front of Justin's house. His parents had moved back into the same house a year ago when they thought Justin was ready to be by himself.

Justin and Haley opened their doors and climbed out.

"Man, I really miss this place." Justin said in a depressed tone as they began to unload his bags.

"Tennessee misses you, too." Haley joked, trying to cheer him up.

They shut the trunk and started walking up the path to his house. With his free hand, he rang the doorbell. A second later, his mother swung open the door.

"Justin, honey, I'm so glad you could come home," his mother, Lynn, cried happily.

"Me, too, Mom," he said and leaned over to give her a kiss.

"Come in and put your bags down." Lynn said and moved out of their way.

"Hi, Mrs. Harless." Haley said and as Justin made their way past her and up the stairs to his room.

Justin dropped his bags so he could open the door and flung it open. It was set up the exact same way he had left it, Janet Jackson posters and all. He was surprised his mother didn't redecorate to turn it into a guest room.

"Just drop them anywhere," he instructed.

Haley dropped the bags and sat down on the bed, "It's exactly the same. Isn't that kinda freaky?"

"Yeah," Justin agreed, "but she has good intentions. Nothing strange like stalker movies or something like that."

They both laughed, Justin would have been mad if the room was changed anyway.

"So where do you want to eat?" he asked, now settling down.

"I don't care, where ever you wanna go," she said.

"What about The Shack?" he suggested.

"Okay." Haley agreed.

They walked down the stairs and out the door to her car.

"I drive again!" Justin shouted and got into the driver's seat.

"What?! No! This is my car! Get out!" she ordered.

Justin stuck out his tongue and locked the doors.

"Justin! Come on!"

He folded his arms and shook his head.

"All right, all right. You win," she gave in.

When Justin unlocked the doors, she climbed in, "You are such a stubborn brat,"

"Hi-ya! My name is Mandy and I'll be your waitress for today!" said an overly perky redhead.

"Okay, cool man. I'll have a double cheeseburger with large fries and a large drink, please." Justin said and looked over at Haley.

"And what can I get you?" Mandy asked.

"Just a salad and diet coke." Haley replied meekly.

"Okee dokee, I'll bring your food to you shortly," she said and walked off.

Justin stared at Haley in disbelief, "A SALAD and DIET coke? What happened to the girl who I could scarf down two double cheeseburgers and a couple orders of large fries with?"

"That girl needed to lose some weight."

He was about to say something but he knew better than to argue with a girl about her weight.

"Okay, whatever you say, man."
