I finished my makeup and pulled my hair up into a bun. Joey had invited me, Desiree, and Lynn to watch him and his group, Nsync, rehearse. Desiree and Lynn wanted to go because they liked Justin and JC. I had no idea why I was going.
I grabbed my keys off my dresser and ran down the stairs and out the door. I got in the car and drove to Lynn's house. She was sitting on the porch, waiting for me. When I pulled into her driveway, she took one last look in her mirror and put it in her pocket book, then got in my car.
"Woah, makeup. You never wear that stuff. Are you trying to look pretty for JC? It isn't working, sorry babe." I joked.
"Very funny." Lynn said sarcastically.
"Yeah, I know." I said and pulled out of the driveway and drove to Desiree's.
When we got there, I beeped the horn and she came out of her house.
"Hi guys," she said when she got in the car, "Sam, you never told me what happened between you and Joey."
"He said 'no', okay?!" I said, still mad.
"Okay, okay. Calm down," she said.
"I've never actually met JC, so do you think you can introduce us?" Lynn asked, changing the subject.
"Sure. I've told him a lot about you, so it shouldn't be too hard for you two to get talking." I said.
"Uh oh..." she said as a concerned look spread across her face, "What did you tell him?"
"Nothing bad, take it easy." I answered.
Half an hour later, we pulled up in front of the old ware house they rehearsed in. We opened the doors and climbed out. I could tell we all thought they would be rehearsing in a much better place, this place was old and falling apart.
"They're here!" Chris cried and ran down the stairs to meet us.
He picked up Desiree, hugging her and spinning her around. Then he put her down and looked at her, "Who are you anyway?"
I laughed, "This is Desiree, and this is Lynn."
"Oh, okay. Cool." He said and shook their hands, "The other guys are waiting, follow me."
We followed Chris up the stairs and into the ware house. Justin was sitting on a crate in the middle of the room, JC was sitting on an arm chair in the corner, and Lance and Joey were sitting on a couch against the wall.
"Come on, Lynn, I'll introduce you to JC." I said, grabbing her hand and pulling her over to JC.
"JC, I'd like you to meet Lynn. Lynn, this is JC"
JC looked up and smiled, "Hi, nice to meet you."
"Okay, good. You two have met, now I can move on. Have fun." I said quickly and started walking away.
"Samantha!" Lynn cried.
I laughed and headed towards Desiree. I just loved playing match maker, too bad I couldn't get one for myself. I lead her over to Justin.
"Hey Justin. What's up?" I asked.
"Nothing, we're just taking a break," he replied.
"I wanted you to meet someone. This is Desiree." I said, pointing behind me.
Justin stood up and held out his hand, "Hi, I'm Justin."
Desiree grinned and shook his hand. She kept staring at him and looked like she was going to faint, she was still holding his hand.
"How are you?" he asked.
Desiree was still in another world.
"Hello? Are you okay?" Justin questioned.
"What?", she asked, snapping back to reality, "Oh, I'm fine. Sorry."
I turned around and walked away so they could get to know each other. I headed over to where Chris and Lance were talking.
"Samantha, wait!" Joey called.
I turned around and watched him run over to me, "Yeah?"
"I need to apologize."
"For what?"
"For being so rude to you the other day. I didn't mean anything by it," he apologized.
"That's okay. You're a senior, you can't ruin your reputation by having me around." I retorted.
Joey stared at me blankly as I walked away. Chris called all the guys over so they could rehearse again and I took a seat on the couch with Des and Lynn. Two hours later, I was getting bored so I decided it was time to go.
"Come on, guys. We should get going." I said.
"Do we have to leave yet?" Lynn asked as she and Des got up.
I was about to say yes but JC interrupted, "If she wants to stay, I can drive her home later. I have my car here."
Lynn nodded eagerly and Desiree and I left.
"What did you do that for? I wanted to stay!" Desiree cried as we got in my car.
"Because I don't want to be around Joey anymore." I said.
"Your attitude has changed since a few days ago."
"Yeah, but he was nice to me then." I replied.
"He's still nice to you now."
I looked over my shoulder and backed out onto the highway. Desiree and I didn't say anything to each other for most of the ride home. The silence was killing me, I leaned over and turned on the radio. A few minutes later, we arrived at her house. She opened her door and climbed out.
"Thanks for introducing me to Justin. He's really nice." Desiree said, turning back around to look at me.
"Sure. Anytime." I said.
"Call you later. Bye."
