He looked under the covers and saw that he wasn't wearing anything. He turned around to take a look at who it was next to him. Praying within that perhaps Maya had changed her perfume, but he saw the truth. It was Shantel. No..... how.... I didn't..... I couldn't of. Oh my god. I can't believe... man, my head is killing me. Shit, I slept with Shantel. He jumped out of bed, causing Shantel to wake.
"Good morning, Nick."
"What happened?"
"What are you talking about?"
How did I get here? Why am I in this room with you?"
"Don't you remember?"
"NO. NOW TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!", he yelled losing his control to panic.
"Calm down. Have a seat and I'll tell you."
"I'm not even going to think about touching that bed with you in it."
"Suit yourself. Well, yesterday night you came out of the party and the next thing I now we were in this room and well I think you can figure out the rest."
"Are you saying that you... and.... me.... together?"
"You betcha."
"Are you crazy? Why didn't you stop me? I was drunk. What is your problem?? You know I have a girlfriend.... oh shit... Maya..."
Nick quickly ran out of the room in his boxers and entered the guestroom to find her packing away things.
"So Nick, did you have fun yesterday with Shantel?"
"My god, Maya I am so, truly sorry. Baby, you gotta believe me. I was drunk, I didn't know what I was doing. I don't even remember a thing."
"You know what Nick? I don't believe you and I will never forgive you for this. How could do somthing like that after all these years and all the times you said you loved me? You played me for a fool, didn't you? I bet you and her were together the whole time."
"No, I swear. It's not what you think. I hate her. Remember today morning. I told you no one would come between-"
"Go tell your new girlfriend, Nick. I'm sure she'd love to hear your empty vows. I'm leaving you and I'm moving out of our.. no, I mean, your house when I get back."
"Maya you can't leave. I'm telling you I was drunk. Don't do this. Please believe me. I didn't do anything. You know, I can't live without you. I need you, angel. Please, baby, please give me another chance."
"Give you another chance? What kind of a sick bastard are you? You just slept with another woman and you expect me to forgive you? Leave me alone. I don't wanna see you anymore."
With that she stormed out of the room, stomped her way down the stairs, and got in her rented car and drove off towards the airport, leaving Nick standing alone on the corner, losing the love of his life, and there wasn't one thing he could do about it.
