Brian ran into the room to find a very confused Nick.
"Hey, Brian. Didn't you hear a crash from the house?"
"Yep, I sure did. But I sure didn't hear it coming from here. Nick that sound was from outside. Wha's wrong with you man?
"Oh... Well, now you tell me. I'm going to go check on Nicole anyway."
"Okay, I'll be down here and this time I promise that I won't scare you."
Nick just rolled his eyes and went upstairs.
He found Nicole sitting up staring into space.
"Hey Nicole."
"Oh, hi Nick. I didn't see you come in."
"What are you doing anyway?"
"Oh well, I heard a scream that sounded like yours and I was trying to decide if whether or not I should come down. But now that you're here, you can fill me in."
"Well, that was nice. Anyway, Brian scared me in the hallway. And for the record, I only screamed to satify him."
"Then why did you say he scared you in the hallway?"
"You know what? You're too smart. So I think you should rest that pretty little head of yours and take a nap."
"Do I have to? Oh ok. Goodnight. Wait actually, good afternoon. Oh whatever. You know what I mean."
Nick chuckled as he tucked Nicole in. He leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"What was that for?", Nicole asked, hoping it meant something.
"Oh, you're mom told me to give you a kiss for her. By the way, they're coming home on Febraury 25 with my family."
"Oh ok. Nick, come here."
She leaned up a bit and gave him a soft kiss on his lips.
"What was that for?", Nick asked, hoping it meant something.
"Oh that was because you're being a great best friend."
"Oh. Well, in that case I'll be a better one.", Nick said smiling as he left the room.
Nicole chuckled before she turned the light off and went to sleep.
