“Hey Meg, phone’s for you!” Meg heard Cate yell as she quickly climbed off the seat she was sharing with Aj and walked into the kitchen to take the call. Hmmm, wonder who this could be, she thought to herself.
“Hello?” she heard as soon as she picked up the phone and a shot of nervousness ran through her, it was Cale.
“Umm hi.” She replied in almost a whisper hoping no one would hear her.
“What’s up Cale?”
“Well girl, Evan and I were just wondering if we were all still on for swing dancing?” He questioned Megs.
“Well ummm, Cale we need to talk about that. Look, I’m really sorry about last night. I led you on, I have a boyfriend. A wonderful boyfriend and I can’t betray him...” Megs answered, smiling, while watching Aj watch tv.
“Oh…well…I’m, I’m sorry I guess.” Cale replied.
“Oh no, it’s me who should be sorry! I really shouldn’t have done that. I’d just had too much to drink and I don’t know what I was thinking, but I did have fun and I know Em did too.” Meg told Cale.
“Well…Evan wants to know if Em has a boyfriend too..” Cale asked Meg as Evan held his breath.
“Yes… I’m sorry she does. I just don’t know what she’ll do about that. I think she wants to keep the swing dancing date.” Meg told Cale.
“Actually Cale, look, I’ll go talk to her and I’ll call you guys back later ok?”
“Sure Meg….and Meg?”
“Yeah Cale?”
“Thanks for being honest.” he sincerely told her as Meg smiled.
“Thanks for understanding. I’ll call you guys later. bye” Meg answered as she hung up.
Cate sat in the hallway between the living room and kitchen, amazed at what she’d just heard. Megs and Em were with other guys? she thought to herself. I knew that had a lot to drink but I didn’t think they’d do that…I knew I should’ve been around them more often. God what’ll happen now?
“Cate? Baby what are you doing sitting in the hallway?” Nick asked as Cate looked up from where she’d been sitting.
“Oh nothing, Megs had a phone call so I decided to leave her alone in the kitchen and I just sat down here. But she’s done now so I guess I can get up huh?” she replied laughing.
“Yeah I think so babe!” Nick laughed as he grabbed Cate’s hands and pulled her up to him.
“Now how bout we go somewhere where we can be alone?” Nick whispered with a suggestive smile.
Brian and Em were sitting in Brian’s room lying on his bed watching TV in each others arms. The show they were watching cut to a commercial for the movie “Center Stage” as Em’s mind wandered back to the night before and dancing with Evan. She’d been so content, so happy. Here was this guy, this sweet, cute, gentle guy and he liked her. Yet there was Brian…Brian who is sweet, cute, gentle, but Brian who cheated on her with one of her best friends. Brian who tore her heart apart yet she was back for more. Suddenly, Em knew what she had to do…
”Brian, we need to talk about something…you see…” * knock knock * Dammit! I was interrupted!
“Hold on Bri, lemme get that.” Em told him while sitting up and opening the door only to find Megs standing there. Megs suddenly grabbed Em’s arm and pulled her out of the room, closing the door in the process.
“We need to talk.” Meg told her.
“I know, but I was just about to tell Brian something Meg! Can we talk later.” Em asked with pleading eyes.
“No Em, now. I told Cale about Aj and I told him I was sorry that I led him on and he understood. Evan wanted to know about you though and I couldn’t tell him anything for you. So…what are you gonna do Em?” Meg inquired of her best friend.
“Well….Meg the thing I was just about to tell Brian…well I was just about to break up with him for Evan…”
Amy woke up that morning lying in Josh’s arms in his bed. She smiled, feeling loved and safe for the first time in a while. (MN:No they didn’t have sex you bad bad bad minded people! LOL!) She snuggled up closer to him and sighed, feeling very content. She felt a small movement in Josh and turned her head to see his eyes flutter open.
“Good Morning beautiful.” he whispered before kissing her on the forehead. Amy’s smile got wider as she whispered good morning back to him.
“Have fun last night?” She asked him.
“Mmm hmmm…but only because I was with you.” he told her. Amy felt her heart swell as she wrapped Josh’s arms tighter around herself, content at knowing she was finally happy.
