Amy let a small gasp escape her throat, tears clouded her vision. She slowly
and quietly shut the door but the damage was done. She saw her worst
nightmare, downplayed before her eyes.
The couple was entangled on the floor, kissing each other passionately. And
although she didn't see they noticed her entrance.
She sat down beside the door. Put her head between her knees and sat crying.
"That was Amy." Em whispered in shock as she pulled away from the comforting
arms of Brian.
"Shit." He muttered under his breath. He sat up beside Em.
"You should talk to her. Tell her how you honestly feel. I don't care if you
don't want to be with me. But you got to be honest Brian. With her and with
me." Em advised. Her voice a little shaky.
"I can't lose you. I just got you back." He replied with passion. She
attempted a smile and let her head rest on his shoulder for a second before
sitting up again.
"You have to talk to her." Em encouraged. He nodded although he hated the
prospect. Amy was his best friend. And he did admit he fell for her. But he
wanted to really have something with Emily. He loved that whole week or so
they were together. And he couldn't go on unless he knew if it would work
between them or not.
"I'll be back." Brian promised and kissed her cheek. Em nodded and he left.
The door shutting behind him. Em laid on the cold hardwood floor.
Pain. So much pain.
It wasn't just her either. It was like a ripple. Dropping the rock into the
water and the effect was more than just a simple, quick, drop. It was
penetrating. It was unbearable at times.
~*In the Hall*~
"Amy." Brian announced. Amy looked up at him and glared. He hated the
thought that he had hurt her so much. He hated the fact that so many people,
in this house alone, experienced pain. He felt it too. He lost a best friend.
And now he might lose another.
"Go away." She ordered. Her voice weak and full of the pain and hate he knew
he caused.
"I need to talk to you." He shared. His voice wasn't strong either.
"I saw what's going on. I'm not blind." Amy voiced.
"I'm sorry." He softly soothed, sitting beside her.
"Are you? You USED me. Your no better than Nick!" She convicted. He felt
like a knife just slid through his heart.
"Amy, it wasn't like that. I love you, you should know that. It's just the
thing with Em & I ended so quickly. I'll never know if we could of made it,
unless I don't try. Let me try." Brian pleaded. She looked at him, they
locked eyes. The hate disappeared in her. She couldn't hate him, ever. And
she couldn't Em, one of her best friends. She exhaled deeply.
"I'll be waiting. I'll always wait for you." Amy whispered. Brian pulled
her into a hug. He knew she was being honest. And he admired her for it.
~*DOWNSTAIRS*~
"Shit! Amy's been up there a long time. Wonder what's happening?" Megs
wondered aloud.
"Well I'm sure those three have a lot to talk about." Lissa commented. Meg
nodded knowingly. They heard some of the shouting earlier.
"You guys hungry?" Kevin asked. Everyone nodded.
"Well I think Kristin & I will go pick up some food." Kevin offered.
"Yeah. Everyone should eat." Kristin agreed.
Then Kevin and Kristin left to pick up some food.
"This is weird." AJ shared.
"I know." Howie agreed.
AJ & Meg sat side by side on the couch. Lissa and Mark were sitting on the
floor and Howie was on the love seat. Kat sat beside Howie.
"I'm worried." Meg announced.
"Me too. Nick fucking scared me today." AJ shared.
Kat nodded.
"I'm scared too. I love him but what's happened to him?" She
asked.
"Shit!" AJ exclaimed as his cell rang. He answered it.
"Hello." He asked annoyed.
"It's Cate." Cate announced.
"How are you?" AJ asked.
"Better. Therapy's been fun. I just wanted to tell you I am going to stay
here for awhile." She shared.
"Who is it?" Meg asked. AJ mouthed 'Cate'.
"Let me talk to her." Encouraged Meg. AJ handed over the phone while Cate
told Megs about therapy and the cool people she met. And Megs told Cate about
today's events. The conversation ended on a good note. About possibly having
a BBQ later in the week.
"We're Back!" Kevin announced with Kristin by his side. Both carrying bags
from Burger King.
"Hey D, Your chick is out back with some girl." Kevin informed Howie. Who
just smiled and nodded as everyone else looked around confused.
