“I learn to let go of the illusion that we can possess I learn to let go, and I remember happiness, I remember…”
Megs was deeply disturbed by all she heard. She quickly turned to the nearest wall to cover her up. She sinked down to a sitting position while letting a tear escape. Unable to move she sat motionless afraid and confused.
Lissa wasn’t having a great time either. She was still waiting for the confused man in front of her to issue some form of response. It was tearing her apart. He had to say something soon or she would collapse with grief.
AJ as if reading her mind, soon answered, “Lissa, I love you too but not that way, as a friend. I’m sorry but you know that right now I am with Megs.” AJ proclaimed. Lissa’s heart split in two but she knew that this was one of the things he might say before she told him her feelings. Sensing her pain, he pulled her into a hug but she pulled herself out of it.
“I’m sorry, I got to go. Don’t take it personally.” She spat as she walked out of the kitchen. She just knew she had to get out of here.
Megs felt even more torn as Lissa left. She had no idea that Lissa had felt that way and even though she liked AJ a lot she wasn’t one to ditch her friends…ever. AJ heard her muffled cry as he trailed out of the kitchen a bit to see if he could locate Lissa. He turned around and saw her and felt his heart break in two. He wanted to wipe her tears away and hold her forever but she obviously needed more than that.
Megs felt bad being this pathetic in front of AJ. But she hurt too much to hide and if she hurt this much, she couldn’t possibly conceive the pain Lissa must have. AJ sat beside her and cradled her in his arms until he too began to cry. So they sat there crying in each other’s arms.
Lissa ran out the door bumping into Em on her way out.
“Whoa chica, what’s the rush?” She asked her crying friend.
“I got to leave…I can’t stay here right now.” She quickly explained.
“Then I am going with you.” Em announced, “Let me leave a note for Cate, she’ll alert everyone.” She added before setting to her task. They swiftly were in the car and on the road.
“So, what’s wrong?” Em asked grabbing her friends hand as she drove. Lissa was too choked up to speak for awhile but finally said, “Can we talk about it some where else?” Em nodded and pulled off to a rest stop/ park. They then walked to a picnic table and it was there that Lissa told her friend all that was said between them.
“Oh, hunnie, it’ll all be alright.” She foretold.
“I just can’t really see them together right now, and I seriously doubt that I’ll be staying at Cate and Amy’s house very long.” She shared. Em nodded. She wanted to be here for her friend in her time of need, no matter what she missed at the house she had began to call home.
“C’mon let’s get a hotel.” She said. They ended up spending the night in a Double Tree Inn.
“Where’s Em?” Brian asked Cate as he pulled up a chair at the kitchen table.
“Well, see there had been some certain developments that have caused her to leave for a few days. All she left was a note. It’ll all be okay, don’t worry.”
“Is she okay?” He asked worried. She nodded and smiled, “Yeah she is just helping a friend.” Cate shared. She then shut up as AJ entered the room with her new beau Nick. Brian shrugged and rejoined the living room to play video games with Amers.
“So, J, Is Megs okay?” Cate asked. He nodded, “She’s sleeping like a baby, I am going to join her.” He announced before leaving.
“Well Mr. Carter I guess that means we are alone then huh?” She asked. He smiled and bit his lip seductively. They quickly embraced and kissed.
“Maybe we should move this upstairs.” She commented. He nodded. They slowly and lovingly moved up there. They didn’t do anything too drastic but it was fun and new and meaningful nonetheless.
“So Amy, how is one more round?” Brian asked.
“As much as I love this game, I’m thirsty let’s take a break.” She proclaimed. They went into the kitchen where she poured them both some vodka (EN: Are you thinking what I am thinking? *giggles*) she then smiled.
“So Brian, what’s up with you lately?” she asked sipping her drink. He shrugged and smiled.
“Well I have something I want you to know.” She announced.
“What?” He asked intrigued.
“I’ll tell you later.” She said. They played video games again and drank about 2 bottles of vodka. Brian had really no reason too continue drinking he just did. They were both so out of it. Amers wouldn’t have done it if she wasn’t and either would Brian but slowly and sure enough something happened.
“I dare you to take off your umm…thingy…shirt, yeah your shirt.” She said.
“Only if you uh… do.” He said and they both giggled. Every article of clothing she tore off so did he, until they were both naked. They walked towards each other slowly and as if some magnet drove it began to kiss. Which ultimately led to sex and sleeping on the couch with one blanket sprawled over them.
