Chapter 3

After Nick and Jayme landed, Jayme spent most of her time unpacking while Nick got a feel of their surroundings. He came back to the hotel so that Jayme could go sightseeing with him.

"Hey babe come on you have to see the rest of this place." Nick told her grinning as he watched her put some clothes in the closet.

"No, I'm really tired I think I'll just sleep."

"You slept the entire way here."

"Yeah but I have also been working my ass off for this past tour, I'm tired and just wanna sleep. You can go do whatever you want but I'm sleeping." Jayme snapped.

Nick didn't wanna say anything about her attitude, he decided to just sleep with her and try to spend some time with her tomorrow. He stripped down to his boxers and crawled into bed next to her cupping her from behind. Kissing her neck he inhaled her scent. He loved her so much, nothing was going to break them up. What could possibly break them up, what did they have not going for them? Everything was perfect.

He turned her around to look at her and sighed when he saw a tear fall from her eye. Her eyes were closed and she wrapped her arms around his back hiding her face in his chest and hugging him tightly.

"I love you." She whispered.

"I know...I love you too."

"Don't leave okay?"

"I won't."

The two laid their holding each other until they fell asleep, each crying and repeating over and over that they loved each other.

The next morning Nick woke up jumping in the shower leaving Jayme asleep, he quickly dressed himself and ordered some breakfast, then attempted to wake Jayme up.

"Jayme baby wake up." He shook her gently. When she didn't budge he kissed her forehead and made his way to her lips, kissing her gently until he felt her respond he then moved away and made a face. "No more of that until you brush your teeth young lady."

"Shut up." She laughed.

"Its good to see you smile again."

"Its good to smile again."

Nick clapped his hands, "so I was thinking we could go sightseeing, get a bite to eat around lunch, spend the day at the beach and go out to dinner tonight. I have breakfast on the way."

"You have everything planned out don't you?"

"Yup, so you can't say no."

"I guess I can't." Jayme smiled jumping out of bed and heading for bathroom. "Be out in a minute."

"Okay." Nick smiled, he knew it....this trip was going to be great.

An hour later Jayme was dressed and ready to leave. The two ate breakfast in the room and then left. They went to antique stores, tourists stores, and all the beautiful sites they read about in a tour guide.

They had gotten really close throughout the day and spent lunch talking about so many different things and their opinions on everything, which is something they had never done.

They had gotten closer in one day then in their entire year as a couple, even Jayme began to think that this trip was for the best. She had worried so much for so long but it was all for nothing.

"I love you." Jayme told him softly as they walked back to their hotel.

Nick stopped and turned to look at her smiling at the smile on her face, "I know."

"You know I was expecting an 'I love you too."

Nick laughed and kissed her lips softly hugging her tightly, "I love you so much."

"I know." Jayme laughed.

"You know its hard in this business to find someone you love and can trust. I found that in you and I love you, I always will. When your in this business it so easy for people to be around you, living up on all the perks, its easy to be there through the good times. But when things get bad I know your gonna be here. I don't even have to ask you." Nick almost began to cry after confessing all of this to Jayme, watching as she smiled through her tears as well.

"I will always be there for you, but when I doubt us and when its not so easy for me, are you gonna be there?"

"Baby you don't even have to ask. I'm always here."

"Good." Jayme smiled. She had never been so happy to hear anything in her life. This trip was turning out to be just what Nick thought it would be....the best thing that ever happened to them.

******************************

The two spent the rest of the night holding each other, making sure the other knew that they would always be together. Everything was going perfect and they were both as happy as they could be.

So why was Jayme having that feeling in the pit of her stomach again? Why was she regretting this trip, she thought she had overcome that non sense? She loved Nick, and Nick loved her so what could possibly happen on this tip to mess things up?

She finally fell asleep in Nick's arms and slept uneasy all night. Her dreams filled with the fear of losing Nick. She woke up to Nick snoring at around 11:00 AM. She rolled her eyes and covered herself with the covers.

"UGH! Nick wake up." She shook him a little. "Wake up."

"Hmmm, what. What time is it?" Nick woke up slowly, yawning and stretching.

"It's eleven so wake up already your snoring and getting on my nerves." Jayme snapped.

"God, what the hell is wrong with you, don't tell me your on the rag." Nick set up in the bed resting his head on the backboard.

Jayme jumped out of the bed taking the covers with her to cover her body, "you know what Nick Carter go to hell, NO I am NOT on my rag. Just didn't sleep well." She stormed to the bathroom but before closing the door she turned to look at him, "and I don't feel like doing anything today." With that said she slammed the door and turned the shower on so she couldn't hear what he was saying, or act as though she couldn't.

"What the hell was that?" Nick asked himself sitting up in bed and running his hands through his hair. What happened to last night when they were so happy and in love? What was wrong with her? Had he done something? He didn't have any answers to his questions.

He sat up and walked to the bathroom door listening as Jayme took a shower, he sighed and knocked on the door hearing her ask him what he wanted with an attitude he quietly opened the door to a crack and stuck his through he told her he needed to use the bathroom.

"Just hurry." She snapped.

Nick stepped in and stood there, he didn't really need to use the bathroom but he thought maybe if he tried talking to her he could figure out what was wrong. He took his boxers off and slowly opened the shower curtain and stepped in, he smiled when his hands came in contact with her skin, only to watch as she jumped at his touch turning around and looking shocked to see him, too shocked in fact.

"What the hell are you doing."

"I thought I'd keep you company, are you okay?"

"I would be fine if you weren't in here with me." She tried covering her naked body almost as if she were shy to be around him undressed.

Nick was taken aback by her sudden attitude around him, "baby what are you doing, I've seen you naked before." Nick could tell Jayme had begun crying but he couldn't see her tears due to all the water.

"Nick, please just get out." She sobbed.

Without saying anything a heartbroken, and embarrassed Nick stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel, he suddenly didn't think this trip was such a good idea.

"What the hell is going on." He has himself. But once again. He didn't have an answer for his own question. He only knew two things at the moment, one that Jayme was acting weird about something.

And two.....he wasn't gonna like it one bit.

The rest of the day was spent with Jayme sitting at the hotel watching soap operas and Nick sightseeing alone. He didn't even see much while his mind was still on Jayme, wondering what she was doing, if she missed him or was even thinking about him.

Finally he went back to the hotel finding Jayme asleep on the bed. She looked so uncomfortable like she had fallen asleep quickly, she looked so tired, even while sleeping, but what hurt him the most was that she looked so unhappy. And the worst part was that he didn't know why. He knew she didn't wanna come on this trip but after a while she had warmed up to it, they had a good time the first day, they bonded. He thought everything was fine. Maybe he had done something. He bent down next to her by the bed and brushed the hair from her face, he kissed her forehead and leaned back.

"I love you so much, you have to know that. No matter what I love you." He told her sleeping form.

Nothing he ever said was more true then when he confessed his love for her, he hoped she knew that. Even if she hated him she had to know he loved her.

He softly lifted her body and laid it on the bed more comfortably, she shifted slightly in her sleep and mumbled something Nick couldn't understand.

"You okay sweetie?" He asked softly.

She opened her eyes and looked at Nick for a moment, "hey," she said softly.

"Hey baby, feeling better?"

"I'm fine, just tired. What did you do all day?"

"Nothing, thought about you." He told her honestly.

"Don't say thinks like that."

"Like what?"

"Thinks that express your love for me."

"Why not?"

"Because I've been thinking maybe we aren't so great together."

"Jayme don't say that, please don't ever say that. What made you think this way? Yesterday went so great, I thought you were happy, what happened?"

"Nothing."

"Please don't shut me out Jayme, lets work this out. Please."

"Nick please just let me sleep."

"Promise we'll talk in the morning?"

"Maybe."

And that was all Nick could ask of her, she turned her back to him and began to go back to sleep. What the hell had happened? And could he make it any better?

He had a feeling the answer was no.
