Adia ran quickly down her hallway, panting and screaming. She was trying desperately to find shelter, cover, something. Her legs were heavy but she forced them to move. Sobbing she ducked into one of the classrooms. There was nothing there. Nothing to hide in.

Quickly she turned to leave the room, but the door had been shut. She ran to it, tugging violently. Frantically she pleaded and cried for it to open. The door stayed in place. She spun around quickly and this time there were people in there with her. Not breathing people; bodies.

All of them dead or dying. They covered the floor, their blood everywhere. Their dilated eyes staring back at her. She fought back the urge to vomit, eyes scanning the room once again. A new object had appeared. A table. A lone table in the far corner. It was her only chance.

Cringing, she began crossing over the sea of bodies. Trying to be quiet she held her breath, hoping nobody would hear and find her. She tiptoed her way across what looked like a battlefield. Finally she made it. She crouched down and buried herself underneath of the table. Shaking with fear she tried to continue to hold her breath.

Suddenly the door opened. Adia closed her eyes tightly praying it wasn’t one of them. She heard a quick, evil laughter. The sobs caught in her throat. She knew this laugh, it was them. Footsteps drew closer to her and she began praying for her life. Opening her eyes she openly sobbed when she stared directly into a black pair of men’s Sketchers. She watched slowly as the man crouched down to meet her eye level.

His eyes flashed with a sick sparkle. “Please?” She cried out to him. “I don’t’ want to die!” She was screaming at the top of her lungs. Her body shaking from the sobbing, tears pouring down her face.

He slowly brought a sawed off shotgun to her head. Her eyes closed shut in one last final prayer. “I think it’s time to say goodbye-…”

Adia woke up screaming as loud as she could. Sweat pouring off her face. Or was it tears? She couldn’t tell the difference anymore. Her body was numb. ‘Another dream.’ She told herself. Sitting all the way up she began to rock herself. These dreams had been happening ever since… Well ever since ‘tragedy’, as the papers liked to call it. ‘Tragedy my ass. The was a massacre.’ She began crying again. Remembering all that had happened that day.

Knowing this couldn’t be helping, she quickly shook the thoughts out of her head. She turned her light back on before lying down, knowing she wouldn’t be getting anymore sleep that night.
