Take a look at my life and this world today
My path has led me to a punch in the face
I know what I need, I am just missin
The joy of life when I was a kid
GI Joe – you’re my hero
Papa Smurf – you help me when its rough
Bugs Bunny – how’d you get so funny
Thundercats – you make me feel so tough
So when life gets down and I get rattled
Its ok cuz knowing’s half the battle
So I admit I was a child of the eighty’s
Rat tails on the kids and mullets on the ladies
Don’t me started on the crap called new wave
The television helped get me through those days
My friend Alf was the new kid on the block
Zach Morris, I’m glad you weren’t a jock
Donatello taught me the karate chop
Saturday morning felt like it never stopped
So what do you want from me?
The eighty’s had some great tv
And when I feel alone at night
I dream I married Rainbow Brite
And transform into a better self
Remove my toys from off the shelf
Begin to play with all my toys
Just like when I was a little boy
