Well, after more than a week of begging and groveling to my mother, we were on our way to Fullerton to see the Hollow play at a Youth concert. We got there early, at around 6:00 p.m. - which seems to be something we do a lot actually. :-) We were really confused though, we didn't know what to do since we were so early so we walked around looking for answers. We found a lady unloading plants so we decided to help her out. Soon after, Rob and Adam found us and we started talking with them outside in the parking lot. We gave them the brownies we had made before we left. Rob was on one of those Razor scooter things and almost ran over me and my friend Rocky! Never trust Rob on wheels. :-) He showed us some of his fashion options for the show and we decided that silver pants and a puffy white jacket looked the best. Soon after they had to go in. Rocky and I went over and bought our tickets. There was still no one in line so we hung out by the car in the parking lot and Rocky would keep trying to hit things with her hair rubber band (?). So at around 6:45 we decided to go sit at the entrance, we were the first ones in line. Soon after they let us in and we sat in the front row. Mom saved the seats while Rocky and I went to the merchandise booth and bought ourselves each a Sparklepop t-shirt and sticker. Sparklepop is the band that went on before the Hollow. We walked over to the Hollow's booth and signed their banner. Then we returned to our seats and waited for the show to begin.
A little after 7:30, Sparklepop came on stage and the show started. They were great! Sparklepop is an awesome band and I highly reccommend their music to anyone that likes, well, good music! :-) They sang some great songs off their album, some new songs, and a song called "Kiss Me" by Six Pence Non the richer (I think we all know that song!). While praying, they had an alter call and my mom was the only one who went up. I'm proud of my mommy! Then their set was over and the instruments and stuff was changed for the Hollow. While they were taking down the equiptment, Miranda, the lead singer came over and signed out stickers and t-shirts. She is a really nice lady! We had a great little chat with her. Soon after that, the Hollow came on and the church was rockin! We had the best seats- right in front of the speakers! Ha ha! My hearing is STILL muffled from that! We were all amazed by their incredible energy they had! All of the jumping and singing and everything, it wore me out just watching! But one thing is for sure, they sure know how to put on a killer show. The Hollow played many songs off of their album "Dear God" including "The World Might Say," "What Must I Do," "Don't Look Behind," "Little Girl" yay! and other songs like "500 Miles," and a cool song that was written to the tune of "Johnny B. Good." They played a song that Rob wrote for his new wife Christin that was really cute. Rob was doing the 'I say something and you repeat it' thing that we are all familiar with, and he came over to me so repeat what he was saying. But the thing is- I had no idea what he was saying cause I couldn't hear him over the speakers! So I muffled something close to what he said! Ha ha, but it was still great! :-) Something that was really cool, was when Rob took over the drums and Nick took the mic. He stood on the backs of the pews and sang in the middle of the crowd! He gave out drumsticks too. They went off stage once, but do you think that the Hollow would end a show just like that? No way, they came back out for an encore and rocked the joint once more.
After the show was over, Rocky, mom, and I went out to where the merchandise booths were and talked to the guys for maybe an hour or so. And we got our t-shirts and stickers signed by the rest of the members of Sparklepop. Before we left, I gave Dustin a sign that I had made the night before that read "Got the Hollow?." It was a cool sign, I wish I had taken a picture of it, oh well. I had a great time and it was definately a night I will never forget!
