"Yes?" he said behind the newspaper.
"Well, you know how Christmas vacation is coming up..."
"Go ask your mother."
"But you don't even know what I'm going to ask you."
"I don't want to be any part of an argument."
"This is not an argument."
"Ah. But there will be one."
Kay stomped off to look for her mom. "Mom, you know how Christmas is coming up. Do you mind if some friends stayed here?"
"Who are these friends?"
"My employers from the summer."
"How long are they staying?"
"Um...I don't know."
"How can you not know? Anyway are they men?"
"Yeah."
"No."
"But..."
"Because they are men?"
"Yes."
Starting to get mad at her mother, "I thought you said you weren't sexist."
"I'm not."
"Well, one of is my boyfriend, and we got drunk one night and we screwed each other."
Lanie slapped her and quietly said, "Get out."
Kay smiled and said, "Thank you." She went up into her room packed her FILA bag again, grabbed her wallet and walked out of the home, she grew up in, with her father still reading the paper. As far as he was concern, he only had one daughter, Wing Yee.
