Chapter 35
“Nick, stop it,” Kay said as he tried to put his arms around her.
“What? It’s not like I’m going to kiss you or anything,” he said innocently.
“Then why did you corner me when I was in the kitchen earlier?”
“Your hair smelled real good. I just wanted to get a better whiff of it.”
”I haven’t washed my hair in 3 days, it’s quite funky.”
“I know, but you’re only doing that to repel me.”
“Just stop it, okay? I don’t want you.”
“Are you sure?” he said as he edged a little closer.
“Positively sure.”
“Then prove it,” he said softly right before he turned toward her to slam his mouth onto hers. He pressed his body into hers, pushing her onto her back.
Her hands pushed against his chest, but he only wrapped his arms around hers tighter. She tried to pull her head to the side, but he followed. She felt one of his hands move down her side and slightly squeezed her leg as he made her more aware of how much he wanted her. Miraculously, she got one of her hands free from its trap and threaded her fingers through his hair.
Thinking she had surrendered to his sensuous attack, Nick allowed her other hand to move to his neck. He let himself get dragged through the long tunnel of pleasure.
Suddenly, she tightened her hold on his hair and yanked it hard and pushed at his neck. He was thrown back to his original sitting position.
“Nick, I mean it. Stay away from me. I love Alex and always will. Stop trying to ruin our relationship as friends to keep him and I apart. Look, he’s going to be back tomorrow morning and I’m going back to his place tonight. I’ve got to start straightening things out, okay?”
“Are we still going to be friends after this?”
“I honestly don’t know, but most likely yes. I think it’s just the curse.”
“Me, too. But the feelings are so strong.”
“I know,” she said as she got up. “Walking me to the door?”
“Yeah.” He opened the door and let her out. “Hey, one last hug? You know for old time sake.”
“Gladly.” They stood in the doorway for a good amount of time, not knowing if this would change their relationship with each other and for her, with Alex as well.
