“WHAT?” I yelled looking over at her. “you cant”
“yes I can. And I have to Bree. Theres no room for school in my
life right now. Maybe I’ll go back next year but for now I just cant”
“Eliese…you cant drop out”
“Brianna I don’t want ot hear it. I’ve got to go pick up my
brother” she said jumping down and walking away. I got down and ran after her.
“do you want a ride” I asked
“no that’s ok, I’ll walk. Call me later?”
“yeah…” I said quietly as she walked away. I went out to my car
and got in. I put my head on the stearing wheel and cried. A few minutes later
the phone started to ring. I reached over and answered it.
“Nick?” I asked knowing it was him.
“yeah” he replied “are you ok? You sound like your crying”
“that’s cause I am”
“why what happened?”
“Eliese lost her job last night and now shes dropping out of
school”
“oh no” he said “that really sucks”
“yeah” I said
“I was talking to AJ about 5 minutes ago. I think he really
likes her, so um do you think it would be alright if me and him came up there
for the weekend?”
“what?” I asked “why would you do that?”
“to hang with you and Eliese, and take your mind off things”
“this weekend?” I asked
“if that’s good with you”
“um sure if you want. I have Friday off too”
“ok so maybe we’ll come Thursday night”
“that’s tomorrow?”
“yeah”
“alright. I can pick you up form the airport if you want. And
uh…my parents and sister are going away for the weekend because its my moms
birthday, so if you want you and AJ can stay at my house”
“I can just picture the smirk on your face right now” he laughed
“what?” I asked defensively.
“you just asked us to stay at your house alone?”
“yeah, whats the big deal. Eliese is staying over because
they’re moving on Sunday”
“oh I’ll ask AJ” I heard him put down the phone. “AJ do you
wanna stay at Brianna’s house?” he asked him.
“alone?” he asked
“yep”
“Nick your so fuckin blonde” he said “Brianna? This is AJ” he
must have grabbed the phone from Nick.
“hi AJ”
“Nick went to have his hair dyed so I’ll talk for him” I heard
Nick telling him something in the backround. “no Nick, get those dirty thoughts
outta your head. They’re just friends, innocent friends”
“AJ shut the fuck up!” Nick laughed in the backround.
“well if you don’t mind, I have an calculus exam to study for
tomorrow, so call me then ok? And NOT when im in class. After 1:03”
“alrighty chicky bye bye” AJ said hanging up. I looked at the
phone strangely.
“what a weird guy” I laughed and then started my car.
I got home and picked up the phone dialing the fimiliar 7 digit
number.
“Hello?”
“Eliese its me” I said
“hey Bree” she sounded happy which was a good thing. “AJ just
called me. Oh my god I like him so much”
“really?” I asked
“did he mention anything about tomorrow night?”
“no why?”
“well him and Nick are coming up here tomorrow night”
“what?!” she yelled “they cant I look like shit”
“well after my exam tomorrow I’ll come pick you up and we’ll go
get out nails done and stuff and your hair if you want”
“ok fine, I cant belive you invited them up here im gonna kill
you”
“why?”
“because I don’t want them to know about my family”
“well im sure they’ll understand”
“so, has Nick called you?”
“obviously, I knew they’re coming up didn’t I?”
“oh yeah, so do you like him?”
“I’ve only talked to him like twice”
“oh well whatever, I have to go make dinner. Call me tomorrow
ok?”

the next
afternoon I picked Eliese up and headed to the mall. She was having like this
whole make over type thing because she was in the mood for a change. Me, I was
just having my nails done.
“did Nick call you?” she asked
“yeah, they’re getting in at like 6 and I have to pick them up.
Wanna come?”
“sure” she said “so im staying with you tonight right?”
“right, so are Nick and AJ”
“WHAT?” she screamed almost making me swerve off the road.
“jesus calm it down. They’re not gonna hurt you”
“right they’re gonna hate me!”
“ok whatever you want” I laughed “seriously though, they’re both
total sweeties, I was talking to them earlier. They said that it sucks whats
going on with your family and they wish they could help”
“what? How do they know?” she yelled I screamed at myself for
saying anything.
“um, I guess I told them”
“why” she asked “you bitch you know I hate it when people know”
“why would it make a difference?” I asked
“because when someone likes me, I want them to like me and not
just because they feel sorry for me”
“your right im sorry. Its just I was upset and it made me feel
better talking about it with someone. And only Nick knows not AJ”
“fine I’ll let you get away with that. But I SHOULD kill you”
“I know, sorry”
“if AJ and Nick werent coming tonight I would be ripped at you”
I laughed “I cant belive they’re coming” I yelled
After going to the mall I drove the 60 miles to logan airport in
boston.
“you know Bree, it’s a good thing you like to drive” she laughed
“I know” I laughed honking my horn a few times. “love it”
“well well here we are” she said taking off her seatbelt and
getting out. “how do I look?”
“great” I smiled
“ok lets go before I lose it” she said, we walked in and I read
what I had written on my hand earlier.
“gate 322” I said as we headed in that direction.

“I wonder if they’re really as cute as they sound” AJ said to
Nick.
“I think so” he laughed “they seem like cool girls”
“yeah, and Eliese has a hat like mine” he said taking off his
black cowboy hat and looking at it.
“how will we know its them” Nick asked
“you'll see” AJ laughed
I walked over to gate 322 and held up both my hands in the air.
“what are you doing?” Eliese asked as I started to clap. “your
causing a scene”
“AJ told me to” I laughed
~Nick and AJ~
“AJ what are you doing” Nick asked when AJ put his hands in the
air and started clapping.
“I told Brianna to do this when she gets here” he said “there
they are” he pointed to them.
Nick smiled when he saw them. He knew right away which one
Brianna was. For one she was a blonde, and second her voice went with her body.
She was tall and had blonde hair past her shoulders. She was dressed simply in
a pair of jeans and a concord high hockey team jacket with her name stitched
into the the sleeve, with the number 4 above it.
AJ saw Eliese and smiled. She was almost just as he had pictured
her. She had short black hair and dark eyes. She was just about his height. She
had a silver shirt on and black pants. He thought she looked like his type of
girl.
We walked up to them and smiled.
“hey girls” AJ smiled giving me a hug and then giving Eliese a
bigger hug.
“you know something?” Nick asked me. “your just how I pictured
you only taller and prettier” he smiled
“thanks” I laughed giving him a hug. “your much better looking
in person”
“thank you” he smiled
“shall we go?” I asked
“yep” they said. I noticed AJ take Elieses hand as we walked to
the car. They already had their stuff which wasn’t much, since they werent
staying long.
“whos car?” AJ asked as we walked up to it.
“mine” I replied unlocking the doors. “I won it about two months
ago”
“wow, you won this?” Nick asked
“yep” I laughed “but I liked my old car, it was a convertible”
“don’t let her fool you” Eliese smiled “it just didn’t have a
roof”
“fuck you” I laughed “my car ruled”
“whatever” she laughed the guys laughed and threw their stuff in
the trunk. “I wanna ride in the back with AJ!”
“fine” I said “Nick you get shotgun”
“goodie” he said like a little kid jumping in.
“so what are we gonna do when we get to your house?” AJ asked
when I pulled out.
A smirk appeared on my face. “hmmm…you’ll have to wait and see…”
