*NSYNC DAY

Liv and Lux Celebrate “Celebrity” (07.24.01)

The day had finally arrived…the anticipated release of “Celebrity.” Lux and I had this planned for weeks; the “two of us” (heh!) were gonna celebrate the day EF-style, running a muck in Detroit and “Playing NSYNC.”

I drove to Lucky’s house, and being that it was my first time going there, I was positive that I was gonna get lost. Sure enough, I did…MAPQUEST SUCKS! I pulled into the parking lot of the Coney Island and ended up calling her. She and her mom (through a fit of laughter) guided me all the way to the house, where Lux was standing in the middle of the street waving at me.

After a quick stop at the ATM so we could get some money, we happily drove along, boppin’ our heads to the brand-spankin’ new music. We’re like Will and Kris in “Night at the Roxberry.” Just imagine two chics doing the “Pop” choreography, or the hand gestures from “Two of Us.” LMAO

We ended up at TGIFridays for lunch, and we waltzed into the restaurant with our “dates,” Bonzai Buddy (my action figure) and Lil Busta (Lux’s Chris beanie bear). The waitress was really cool about seating us and our men. While we ate, we reminisced about our Detroit PopOdyssey and how the both us missoutpeace repeatedly. [kicks self again] Lux busted out the pictures and we discussed the *NJEF scrapbook, the special project we came up with. [We’ll divulge into this more later.]

After spending two hours provoking stares from other people, we bopped back to my house so I could get my discount card for the “shopping” portion of our day. We ended up staying for an hour and a half because the guys were on the cult via satellite. Plus, Lucky was drooling over my concert pictures.

Lux told me how crunk she thinks my mom is. I had left the room, and I guess she and my mom were talking and watching the TV. Car.son-of-a-bitch was being a bastard and my mom said something along the lines of “Where’s *NSYNC already?” lol

Okay, so the guys were being interviewed, and Lux and I were gaping at the screen. Um, hello? [drool] They talked about the album…poor Chris was sick - probably hung-over from the release party the night before - but it was sexified all the same.

I couldn’t take my eyes off JC, though. Man, that hair…lol I’m such a dork that I noticed his sunglasses…but anyway, the TRL audience was asking questions and the subject of song writing came up. It was hilarious when Joey was like, “JC’s getting gray hair!” And then he ran his fingers through Josh’s hair. I was jealous! lol And JC goes, “Yup, this one’s from ‘Two of Us,’ this one’s from ‘The Game is Over.’” Cuteness…

So after we watched, we went to the hospital, because my dad works there and he had my discount card. The receptionist in the lobby couldn’t get a hold of my dad’s floor, so Lux and I jumped onto the elevator up to psych. We did the Joey dance as the doors were closing. lmao We got up to lucky floor number seven, and I buzzed the desk, looking for my dad. He came out a little while later and gave me my card…but not before inviting us to stay awhile. “Do you wanna visit the nuts?” Lux thought that was THE funniest thing she’d heard, and said, “No, thanks, I think we’ve got that covered.”

Finally, we were off to Target. We went through the store, looking at all sorts of NSYNC ish and taking pictures of Buddy and Busta with the merchandise. [Lux has those pics, so we’ll hook those up here later.] Afterward, we made a quick stop at the mall because I wanted to see if they had the “Celebrity” import, and I had a craving for an orange cream cooler. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the import and in my disappointment, I skipped the orange cream cooler.

Then Lux and I went to Verizon Wireless…because I REALLY wanted that *NSYNC display in the window. But when we got there, it was already…GONE! I was TICKED…I had called up there EVERYDAY asking for it, and they gave it to somebody else. Pssh, with Verizon. I looked at my watch and said, “We have 20 minutes…we can make it to the Rochester store.”

We got there JUST as they locked the door. We were tapping on the window trying to get someone to let us in. There was this one guy, the asshole, who was laughing at us and saying “You’re too late!” Bastard. So anyway, we looked at the display and saw that someone had already claimed it. Lucky took down the phone number and told me to call and pretend I was the person to pick it up. [Which I did try…but the chic that had originally claimed it had already picked it up.]

So we went about our jaded business of preparing the scrapbook. After a quick stop at the craft store, we ended up at my house where we began the process. We watched the tape of “The Road to Celebrity,” while we brainstormed ideas. Once we had come up with the basic layout, Lux had to leave…but our crazy adventures would continue on our next assignment: NSYNC night at the WNBA Detroit Shock game. Scared yet? lol
