Untitled
author unknown

I am the center of my universe
But I do not live here alone.
Each move I make creates a ripple in someone else's ocean
Each breath I take effects the air all around me
Each word I utter falls on someone else's ears
That which I touch is felt by another
That which I do will certainly affect another
That which I do not, will also affect another
We never know how far reaching something
we say or do really is until it returns to us
And it always does...
All things in life form a circle
Whether we see the circle or not.

Slow Dance
author unknown

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "How are you?", do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow"?
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die,
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

God Forgive Me When I Whine
author unknown

Today upon a bus I saw a lovely maiden
with golden hair;
I envied her, she seemed so happy,
and Oh, I wished I were so fair...
When, suddenly, she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle...
She had one foot and wore a crutch,
but as she passed, a smile...
Oh, God forgive me when I whine...
I have two feet...
the world is mine.

And when I stopped to buy some sweets,
the lad who served me had such charm;
He seemed to radiate such good cheer,
his manner was so kind and warm...
I said, "It's nice to deal with you,
such courtesy I seldom find."
He turned and said, "Oh, thank you sir!"
and then I saw that he was blind.

Oh, God forgive me when I whine...
I have two eyes...
the world is mine.
Then, walking down the street
I saw a child with eyes of blue...
He stood and watched the others play;
it seemed he knew not what to do...
I stopped a moment, then I said,
"Why don't you join the others dear?"
He looked ahead without a word...
and then I knew he could not hear...

Oh, God forgive me when I whine...
I have two ears...
the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd go,
with eyes to see the sunset glow,
with ears to hear what I should know ...
I'm blessed indeed ...
The world is mine...

Oh, God forgive me when I whine...

A Little Bit of Kindness
By Marian Jones

With a little bit of kindness
We can make someone happy today;
Cheering a heart that's sad
When we speak in a friendly way.

To offer a helping hand,
Is just what some may need;
So be forever watchful;
Willing to do a good deed.

When we reach out and touch another
With a heart that's full of care
We may change the world a little,
And still have love to spare.

Little Things
By Vickie Lambdin

A summer's breeze, a smiling child,
A daffodil that's growing wild,
A deep orange sunset in the West;
Those little things, I love the best.

A still dark night with fireflies,
The laughter in my mother's eyes,
A multicolored rainbow's end ...
Are little things that count, my friend.

A fuzzy warm puppy (licking my face),
Kisses with hugs and a loving embrace,
Rain pouring down on a roof made of tin,
Sitting under a shade (with a soft gentle wind);

Those little things make life worth living.
Being kind to a stranger, caring and giving,
Laughing and sharing your hopes and your dreams;
There is nothing more precious than those little things.

Forever And A Day
By Brenda Conley

I have a little Angel
That sits upon my knee
Singing songs, and coloring
He’s happy as can be
When I glance in the mirror
My eyes can surely see
How his lovely little face
Can look so much like me
He loves to play out in the mud
With all his little cars
Sometimes we go out side at night
To wish upon his star
Tucking him in bed
We always say a prayer
Adding everyone we know
To show God that we care
As I close his favorite book
About Winnie the Pooh and Tigger
I say, “I’ll always love you,
forever and a day.”
His reply, every time,
“I’ll Always Love You Bigger!”

A Grateful Heart
By Jil Lemming

A grateful heart is one who's lived
through trials along the way...
then found the strength to look ahead
and face a brand new day.
A grateful heart is one who knows
that sorrow does not last...
and morning brings a ray of hope
to chase away the past.
A grateful heart will always be
much stronger than the rest...
for they have weathered every storm
and conquered every test.

This is to Have Success
By Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and much
to win the respect
of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation
of honest critics and endure
the betrayal of false friends,
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others,
to leave the world
a bit better, whether
by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition,
to know even one life
has breathed easier
because you have lived.
That is to have succeeded ..
