Summary
A telephone call to a mostly deserted office sets the series in motion. An MI5 informant is calling with the news that twenty bombs entered Liverpool but have since disappeared. Section C, an anti-terrorist unit led by Tom Quinn, has just taken on the case when one of the bombs kills a family planning doctor. British anti-abortionists are being trained by American Mary Cane. Before Mary Cane can be arrested, they need to find the rest of the terrorists.

The Good
Nice introductory scenes for each of the characters. We are introduced to Tom's dilemma over whether to tell his girlfriend, Ellie, about his real identity. We discover Zoe's problems about where to live and Danny's insecurities about being the youngest member of the team.
The villain for this episode, Mary Cane, is brilliant. Also noteworthy is one of the terrorists, Rachael. A lovely scene with Zoe and the cat.

The Bad
For a first episode, this is a little too confusing. The first time they appear, both Danny and Tom are using aliases. The first time I watched it, I picked up Tom's real name but not Danny's. A slower introduction to these characters would have been helpful.
The plot also moves a bit fast. While a fast moving plot is part of Spooks’ appeal, it takes time to adjust to.
