Dear 5th graders,

 

    Please make sure to do the following:

 

1.    LOG-IN and check your E-MAIL for a message from Mr. Brown

2.    SAVE the Decisions LCS worksheet to your 5th grade folder.

3.    OPEN the Decisions LCS worksheet.

4.    Join the Greeting Circle. Sit quietly and THINK about the following:

a.     What does the Greeting Circle look and sound like?

b.    What is the POWER of the Greeting Circle?

c.     Be prepared to “CATCH A PASS” and answer the questions above.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Mr. B. has graded the Hunger Essays. Students will get Hunger Essays back at the beginning of the next class. Students who still need to finish their Hunger Essay must complete the assignment for homework and turn in the essay by the next class meeting.

Target audience: Students grades 5-10

Purpose: LCS scenarios allow students to discuss values and practice making good decisions.

Game type: We will play a whole-class team game.

Reading: Be prepared to “catch a pass” to read Journal entries and notes from your worksheet.

Decisions LCS worksheet: Use thinking points with personal notes to guide your decisions.

Majority rule: Students vote by raising hands for what they believe is the best possible choice.

Decisions: We will base our decisions on the majority rule (the choice with the most votes.)
