Why offer a specific
character education program?
At Haverford we believe the
value of character education aligns directly with our Strategic Plan, and that a Haverford
School graduate should demonstrate the Essential Qualities.
We believe a strong liberal
arts education is important for developing the Essential Qualities. The
addition of a character education program demonstrates the schoolÕs
commitment to more specifically and intentionally teach boys about the
Essential Qualities of a Haverford School graduate.
In each division we offer
age-appropriate character education programs to add value to our shared
vision. Within each division there are programs established for boys to
learn the value of using community-based social structures to raise issues
of concern and find solutions to common problems. These Òsocial structuresÓ
for solving problems align with ÒA Case for Boys
Education.Ó
