IDEA MAPPING Based on concepts from the Strategic Innovation course of the Stanford Strategic Decision and Risk Management program Idea maps are
similar to the Identity
Maps we made earlier in the school year. Idea maps provide an overview of
useful resources and creative opportunities for adding value to the lives of
people and organizations. The Inspiration
program has an Idea Mapping template (shown above) with the ÒNew IdeaÓ at the
center, and other links for useful resources and creative opportunities
provided. Idea maps usually start
with the main idea in the middle, however the maps can be re-arranged to
represent a sequence, pattern, or design strategy. The ÒMake SomeoneÕs
Day Ó Idea Map (below) was
re-arranged in a clockwise cycle to show the sequence of thinking. IDEA MAP MAKE SOMEONEÕS DAY The idea to ÒMake SomeoneÕs DayÓ is based on the Fish! Philosophy. Students will receive a copy of the Make
SomeoneÕs Day Idea Map (above) to use in the classroom.
