Yoko,
Jackamoko and Toto all go on wild adventures through jungles and mountains.
The Special Thing
Do you have a special thing you can do that nobody else can?
Jakamoko and Yoko each have a special thing that only they can do. Toto doesn't.
So, Toto leaves the other two to find out what it is that makes him special.
Seeing that Toto is upset about not having a special thing Yoko and Jakamoko go
after Toto to cheer him up. They find him behind a rock and Toto stands right up
on his tail in surprise. That's it!!!! That's Toto's special thing that no one
else can do. Toto has proved to himself that he's just as special as his friends
are.
The Scary Monster
Jakamoko is scared of snakes, Toto is scared of spiders and Yoko is afraid of
the dark. Between them, can they help each other to stop being scared?
With a little help from their friends and a happy song Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto
manage to overcome all their fears and carry on with their adventuring.
The Waterhole
The three friends are getting a bit thirsty because it's very hot. They see a
waterhole in the distance - yippee! But a big, scary crocodile is lurking under
the water and he doesn't want to share the water with anyone. After a number of
not-so-clever plans to get a drink, Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto cunningly disguise
themselves as a 'lady crocodile'; but will they manage to sneak past the
crocodile's snapping jaws?
The Patient
Toto wants to play ball with his two friends but they aren't in the mood. To
make matters worse, Toto's ball lands in a rock pool, where an angry squid
squirts him in the face with ink spots as he tries to get it back. Suddenly,
Toto has an idea. He'll pretend he's ill and get his friends' undivided
attention - after all, he is covered in ink spots! Can Toto be a good patient or
will his mischievous prank get the better of him?
The Whale
The three friends are on the beach, making pretty patterns in the sand with
shells, when Toto accidentally annoys some crabs. The crabs angrily throw him
into the sea!
As Toto sulks, he discovers a big whale, stranded on the beach. He calls his
friends for help. Jakamoko tries to push the whale back into the sea, but it's
too heavy and he too accidentally annoys the crabs. The crabs throw Jakamoko in
the sea! This gives Toto an idea - he annoys the crabs on purpose then blames
the whale, tricking the crabs into carrying the whale into the water. But even
the crabs join in with the celebration as the whale swims to freedom.
The Night
Toto pretends to scare his friends - he finds it very funny. Soon it's bedtime
and the three friends prepare for bed. Yoko sings a lullaby. Having played at
"scary monsters" all day, every noise they hear makes them afraid -
even of their own shadows! To distract them Yoko plays join-the-dots with the
stars until they aren't afraid any more and finally they all settle down to
sleep.
The Shell
Jakamoko finds a lovely shell in the sand... he blows into it and makes a
musical note. Yoko wants a go and so does Toto. All of them fight over the shell
until they are in the middle of a mad grab and snatch argument, ending in a
western style standoff. Will the trio learn to share the shell and save their
friendship?
The Very Sticky Thing
Toto joins two young crabs in a game of catch and gets their ‘very sticky’
ball, stuck to his hand. Trying to rid him of the very sticky thing, Toto gets
Yoko stuck to it!
Then Jakamoko gets it stuck to his nose. Yoko stabs it with her beak and shakes
her head to get rid of it. But it flies off and sticks to Toto’s poncho. And
so the cycle of sticking and un-sticking goes another round!
Eventually, Toto finally manages to separate himself from the ball. He
celebrates, dancing and jumping about. Then he rests against a tree -
unfortunately at the very spot the sticky thing has landed. And to make matters
worse, the tree is a ‘sticky thing’ tree and hundreds of pods drop down
covering Toto, Yoko and Jakamoko...
The Fly
Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto are sleeping when a fly interrupts them. They chase the
fly and end up catching it, but more through luck than skill! The three friends
celebrate and settle down to sleep again, but all they can hear is the sad
crying of the captured fly. What will they do next?
The Egg
The three friends discover an egg. They don't know what's inside until... a
little baby turtle hatches! They each play with their new friend Tee-tee the
baby turtle and want to be best friends with him. They are soon fighting over
who he likes best. Suddenly lots of baby turtles are born and the three friends
watch them all make their way to the sea. Then they realise that Tee-tee has
gone too. Will they ever see Tee-tee again?
The Bip
A game of tag gets out of hand in the wilderness. Poor Jakamoko is left being
"it" and no one will go near him. Sad that Jakamoko's feeling lonely,
Toto hits on a plan - he tricks a flock of birds to go near Jakamoko, one of
them becomes "it!" and they fly away taking the game with them.
The Visit
The three friends are juggling with coconut husks when Papabobo, an elderly
relative of Jakamoko's arrives and Jakamoko feels a bit silly. Jakamoko wants to
prove to Papabobo how responsible he is but his friends don't seem to want to
help him. But is Papabobo quite as serious as Jakamoko thinks he is?
The Naughty Noise
Despite receiving a lesson from Yoko, Toto can't sing very well. When Jakamoko
and Yoko sing together it sounds lovely. Toto starts feeling left out and tries
to ruin their fun. Yoko and Jakamoko run and hide from Toto and sing alone. Toto
doesn't like it...
The New Best Friend
Yoko finds a new friend, a beautiful Chameleon, more interesting than Toto and
Jakamoko. Toto is jealous and befriends a Monkey called DooDa. Jakamoko selects
a Tortoise as his best friend just because he's lonely.
In the end they all realise that their situation is silly - they are best
friends! They make friends again and leave their three "new best
friends" together to get acquainted. Each trio runs off happily into the
wilderness, singing their own special songs!
The Girlfriend
Toto falls in love with a monkey called Coco and tries to win her heart by
singing to her and giving her flowers. Yoko and Jakamoko think the love-struck
monkey is being really silly and tease Toto for being all gooey and romantic.
Then the handsome ape, Jojo, arrives on the scene, who sings like Barry White
and poor Toto doesn't stand a chance...
The Cave
The spectacular secrets of a crystal cave are revealed to Yoko, Jakamoko and
Toto by a firefly that needs help. The firefly's friends need rescuing as they
have been trapped in the dark cave by a rockfall. Can Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto
save them in time?
The Other Side
Our three friends are desperate to cross a ravine to get some food. Yoko tries
flying a rope across, but it is too heavy for her. Toto tries flying on homemade
wings but that doesn't work either. Finally Jakamoko knocks down a tree to make
bridge. But "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" and
things don't turn out quite how they expected them to.
The Longest Day
Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto don't want the day to end and have to stop playing
'peek-a-boo', so they chase the sun to catch every last moment of daylight. They
chase and chase and chase until darkness finally takes over and they must go to
sleep. They are woken the next morning with a "BOO!" as the sun rises.
Another day has begun and their games can start all over again!
The Lesson
Yoko teaches Bibi, a baby bird, to fly and soon Bibi is confidently doing
daredevil stunts and aerobatics. But Bibi puts lives in danger by not flying
safely and passes on bad habits to others. Ultimately Yoko proves she is the
best at flying and rescues them all. Yoko's grateful pupils thank her for saving
them by painting a picture of her in the sky.
The Song
Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto go on tour performing a song and dance routine - but not
everyone thinks they are as good as they do! A troop of trumpeting elephants is
far better than they are. Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto learn that "if you can't
beat them, join them" and everyone plays together in the best concert the
wilderness has ever seen...
The Meal
It's hot and dry in the wilderness and our three friends are very hungry. They
try to get honey from a bee hive, pick a prickly pear from a cactus and catch a
fish from the lake, but each time they fail to get their meal. Just when they
are about to give up, Toto throws a stone into the water. The fish they were
chasing bats it back out and on the rebound it knocks honey from the beehive and
the prickly pear fruit from the cactus, right down in front of the three
friends. The three friends get their meal after all.
The Windy Day
A windy day tests the strength of our three friends. They each make separate
shelters against the storm - one of hay, one of twigs and one of stone - but
each house is blown away on the wind. Our three friends soon discover that they
are stronger together than apart in the battle against the elements - and that a
windy day can actually be fun!
The Hiccups
Toto laughs so much at a prank he's played on Jakamoko that he gets the hiccups.
This drives Yoko and Jakamoko mad after a while and so - they MUST find a
cure... Yoko and Jakamoko soon discover that 'hiccups' are contagious!
The Copycat
Yoko, Jakamoko and Toto make fun of an elderly jaguar with a limp but when the
jaguar decides to teach his young friends a lesson and the tables are turned on
them, they don't like being picked on...
The New King
Toto is carried off into the wilderness by Big and Little Monkey who think he's
a celebrity and treat him like a king. They even give him a crown! Toto enjoys
all the attention, but when Yoko and Jakamoko arrive he soon learns that
friendships mean much more than fame...
The Other Monkey
Toto, Yoko and Jakamoko are collecting berries; only Toto keeps eating
everything they pick! Then Toto behaves badly and spits berries over them,
laughs and messes about. Yoko and Jakamoko decide to teach Toto a lesson and see
how he likes being on the receiving end of such silly pranks. Jakamoko pretends
to have lost his memory and pretending he's Toto, repeats every bit of bad
behaviour Toto has shown. Toto gets in a real tizz and begs Jakamoko to return
to his normal sensible self.
