The Chubby Frog (Kaloula pulchra) hra
Description:
The Chubby Frog otherwise none as the Asian Painted Frog is a terrestrial burrower spending most of the time underground. Only coming out for an occasional swim or when it is going to eat. These frogs get to be about 7-8 cm long.
Habitat:
These frogs need a well planted terrarium. A substrate of moss, non fertilized dirt and orchid bark should be good because remember these frogs are burrowers. I recommend a 5-10 gallon tank for one frog. Chubby Frogs are tolerant of a range of temperatures. The daytime temp should be 75F-85F and 65F-75F at night. Mist the enclosure twice a day.
Diet:
These frogs are very hardy eating crickets, earthworms, moths, mealworms, wax worms, small grasshoppers and night crawlers. If you have live plants in the terrarium then i wouldn't suggest not feeding grasshoppers because they eat the plants, this happened to me once. Remember to dust insect once a week. Feed insects about every other day.
