From where come from Nick's beauty?

Nick Carter have a good looking, we can't hide that. But where it's come from?

Nick's great-grandmother, Teresa Spaulding, nabbed first prize in a beauty pageant back in 1931. It may not have been the Miss American contest on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, but Teresa's wavy hair, curvy proportions, and sparkling smile rivaled the best of the beauties in her day. On that afternoon at the competition at the old Rex Theater in Cory, Pennsylvania, Teresa sauntered past a line of judges in her swimsuit, wowed them all, and walked off with the crown. Miss Cory 1931, modestly quoted years afterwards about her accomplishment, "I was born under a locky star." Apparently she was she when people commented on and praised her physical attritudes.

Nick inherited more than her lucky star. He gets just as embarrased, and has been known to blush, when someone tells him how downright gorgeous he is. Onstage Nick preens in the "you're so vain" tradition of Mick Jagger. Lots of people, like Regis Philbin, have teased him about resembling Leonardo DiCaprio. Nick shrugs off such comparisons.

There's further evidence that beauty runs in the Carter genes. Nick's sister, Bj, repeated Great-grandma Teresa's feat, walking off the runsay with the Miss Tampa tiara. But in the Carter family, physical beauty doesn't count for much. A beautiful girl must also have a beautiful soul, and a tender, compassionate heart. It's what's on the inside that counts. Sounds familiar, I know. When you heart Nick talk about what he admires in a girl, his remarks always imply that beauty is only skin deep. Of course nci finds good-looking girls attractive. How else would you expect a red-blooded teenager to react? And yet, good looks aren't enough if goodness is missing. Miss Cory 1931 celebrated her eightieth birthday some years back, and when her large extended family gathered around to celebrate, they talked of the kind of beauty that doesn't fade. Beauty is in Nick's genes, but so is keeping it in perpective.
