Traveling all around the world can be exciting, but eventually jet lag, strange hotel rooms and being thousands of miles away from friends and family can get to be, well, a bit of a drag. And while Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson love to performs for their fans, sometimes they can't wait to curl up in their very own beds back in Florida. The catch is actually falling asleep!
You see, hopscotching through time zones can do a number on your internal alarm clock. "I wake up at 3:00 in the morning and I think that it is 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I'm like, "I'm ready to go!" and then I'm like, "Dang! It's only 3 o'clock in the morning!" and I have to make myself go back to bed," 19-years-old AJ. tells BB.
But once the guys do drop off, they usually like to keep the covers pulled up over their heads for as long as possible. It turns out that on the road and in the recording studio almost every day is a workday for these dedicated dolls -- and every single one of the guys has told us how much they crave a good night's sleep. "I can sleep a good 12 hours, no problem." 24-year-old Howie shares.
But some things definitely don't change back at home. For instance, event though both Nick and AJ still live with their families while Kevin, Howie and Brian share their own parentless pad, they still see as much of each other as ever. "I live with Kevin and Howie. We have an apartment in Orlando, so when we are in Orlando and not traveling I spend a lot of time with them," 22-year-old Brian explains. "But I got Nick into playing basketball and AJ into playing basketball, so when it comes to hanging out, I would have to say I hang with AJ most of all, because we play a lot of ball, and Nick as well. So we are all basketball buddies."
Basketball isn't the only fun activity on the hit list for these high-energy hotties. AJ loves to play pool, Howie is up for any and all water sports and 24-year-old Kevin tells us, "I love to play my keyboards and write music."
And what's Nick up to at home base? Well he has his very own family sport -goofing around with his younger sibs. As the baby of the bad, Nick gets a kick out of being an oldest brother again. "I really don't mess with them", 17-year-old Nick says, "but my little brother I pick on sometimes."
