Britain, 1270
As twilight broke, deep in the lush greens of Revelworth forest, two silhouettes swayed to an ancient music that only they could hear. As the night grew old and the shadowy ghosts of trees loomed upon the couple, their slow dancing turned into passionate embraces. Even the cast shadows of the moon couldn't mask the look of love in both of the their eyes. The twinkle of happiness and the sparkle of joy would not be overshadowed by the billions of stars that hung on the midnight blue of the sky.
With one swoop, the man swept the maiden off her feet and rocked her gently in his arms. Slowly then, he lowered his lips while the maiden lifted her own to meet his luscious reds. They kissed tenderly at first, then surrendered to their overflowing emotion and seized passion for all it's being. Breathless, the maiden hung onto the strong neck of the man, rested her head on his lean shoulders so that her long velvet black hair tickled his arms as a breeze swish swashed it back and forth. In turn, he kneeled and placed her on the ground, beneath the shade of a sturdy oak tree. And then he clasped her hands onto his and spoke. He spoke of a life filled with love and promised her that his heart would be hers forever.
Hearing the words uttered by her love, the maiden's face lit up making the moon envious of her smiles brightness. Heat crept up her neck and stained her cheeks pink. He smiled and kissed the flowerlike blossoms while she leaned and whispered in his ears, "Yes."
**Yes! She said yes.** Tristan thought in realization. The sweetest word he'd yet heard in all his life. This celestial nymph before him said one word but meant the world. He came out of his reverie when she laughed. He then realized that he was jumping all around and could hear the echoes his shouting made. When he finally looked back at her, he found her gazing at him with open, honest, innocent eyes. A pair of silvery whites tainted with light blue flecks that danced in laughter and filled his heart with so much happiness.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Arianna Michel asked, directing the question to a pair of gold-green eyes. A pair of sun-kissed, green meadows that stared deeply onto her own. **This is the man who will be my forever. He is my soul, he is my love ..** "And you are my heart, my life," his lips uttered as if reading her thoughts. He approached her and then plopped himself beside her. Tears welled up in Arianna's eyes but she wouldn't let him see her cry. Yet a stubborn drop escaped and touched his hand. He tasted it then planted small kisses on her eyes. Arianna's heart burst and the tears flowed like ..
"Tiny drops of diamond from your lovely eyes," Tristan whispered. Arianna covered her silvery blues with her hands but he removed them and held them to his heart.
"What makes my heart beat so?" He closed her eyes then ran his thumb on her lids and said, "Those tinted blue, silver lined clouds floating in the depths of your eyes."
Arianna entranced, leaned closer to Tristan and kissed his nose.
"Your eyes reminds me of spring grasses in the morning drenched in golden rays," she replied. Tristan smiled at her.
"Oh I know that smile." Arianna said.
"What smile?" Tristan replied with a hint of laughter.
"Your I-know-something-you-don't smile. Come on, what are you hiding?" Arianna crawled towards him, pinned him down then intimately searched his pockets.
"Aha! What's this?" She triumphantly exclaimed while her hand was still in his left pocket.
"That's me, darling," Tristan quipped, humor laced his words.
"Oh!" Arianna shyly looked down hiding her stained pink cheeks.
"Growing blossoms on your cheeks again, my love?" Tristan couldn't resist asking.
Arianna heard some rustling and when she looked up, she found Tristan on one knee, holding a small velvet red pouch. She cocked her head to one side and nervously asked,
"Now, what are you doing? I already said yes remember?"
Tristan didn't answer back but instead he gently opened the pouch and reached in to reveal two silver wedding bands. Wide-eyed, Arianna looked at Tristan then at the rings, and back at Tristan again. Tristan took her left hand and slipped her finger through the ring. When Arianna held her hand up to take a closer look, she saw an inscription. She positioned herself so that the moon was behind her so she could read what was inscribed on the ring.
She gasped, looked at Methos and softly read, "Yours Forever."
This beautiful moment was interrupted by the sound of hooves. Tristan sensed someone like him closed by. He looked at Arianna calmly, careful not to alarm her of the situation.
"Don't go and stay low. I'll be back."
"But can't I come with you?" She replied hurriedly.
"No!" he blurted out.
"No," he continued more softly.
"It's okay, I'll be back before you even start missing me." Tristan took her in his arms and held her tightly, not wanting to let go. She looked up and gave him a halfhearted smile.
"I'm missing you right now."
With that, he let go, picked up his sword and ran towards the sound of horses.
