Weekly Review of Patient: Raymond Brown
Date: November 3, 1998
Inital Date of Commitment: September 5, 1998
Comments:
"Damn it! Seal off area 3, priority 1. Raymond's escaped again...."
It happens more and more each night...more than it used to.
Raymond is a patient of mine in the mental ward of the New Hope
Research facility. When he was brought here, he suffered from chronic
instability....multiple personality complex, mistaken identity, delusions
of granduer...
"There he is! Team 2, Raymond is heading your way."
...but now things are different. He used to be so calm. Even though he
had these disabilities, he still functioned like a normal human being. Now,
I don't even know what's going on with him. He's different. He's changed.
He sleeps in the daytime, waking only at night...and each night he wakes
he screams this horrible deathly scream....like the sound of someone dying
each and every night. Then, silence.
"Sir, we have Raymond locked down in area 1 on the 3rd floor."
These escape attempts have gotten progressively worse. He tries and tries to
get away...like he's fleeing for his life....like he's going somewhere, trying
to get to or away from some place. Where is he trying to go to? What is he trying to hide?
"Team 2, please take Mr. Brown to his room....I'll be there shortly."
I've been a doctor here now for almost 3 years. I graduated from one of the
most prestigious schools of Psychology, and have had millions of hours of
under my belt...but for some reason, this Mr. Raymond Brown is somewhat
of a puzzle to me. I've referred him to my superior, my professor in college,
and even HE is at a loss of words to describe Mr. Brown's condition. All I can
do now is watch him, and maybe find some weakness in his armor...something
that will explain his radical change in behavior...
