STORY TITLE: Unnatural Enemies
REVIEW:
ACT 1: Now back from his trip in L.A., Peter lays in bed pondering about the events of the last few days. He ends up dozing off only to be reawakened minutes later by Dr. Strange inside his dream realm. Dr. Strange explains to Peter that while he was battling the Shade inside the Astral Plane earlier this year, he veered off the path and thus entered the food chain. Peter is perplexed about what that means and asks Dr. Strange to help him understand. Strange tells him to look inside his etymology book (on page 75) where he will find answers to his questions.

ACT 2: Peter wakes up and goes straight to his bookshelf and starts reading page 75 of his book. It reads as follows: "The spider wasp is the most efficient spider-killer in the insect kingdom. Its sting quickly subdues its prey by paralyzing the spider's central nervous system. But it does not kill the spider all at once. The spider wasp carries its prey to its nest, or if the spider is too large to carry in flight, the wasp simply drags it to the nest. In order to make the spider easier to drag, some spider wasps bite off the spider's legs, often drinking the blood that leaks from the wounds. The spider wasp places a single spider in each nest, which is often constructed after catching the prey."

ACT 3: Meanwhile, in a dark alley, a wormhole suddenly opens up out of nowhere. A shadowy figure emerges from the hole and kills an innocent homeless standing nearby. The hunt has begun...

ACT 4: Across town, Spider-Man is standing upon a rooftop when his spider-sense suddenly goes into overdrive. As he turns around, he comes face to face with some kind of spider wasp creature named Shathra. After only seconds of small talk, a fight begins between our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler and his huntress. The battle rages on throughout most of the city all the way down into the subway system where Spider-Man appears to beat his opponent when she is thrown in front of an approaching subway train. However, just before the train hits, Spider-Man hears her say, just loud enough for him to hear it: "she can smell...Parker".

ACT 5: Spider-Man heads back to his apartment, but stays in costume for hours, waiting for Shathra to show up but as the sun comes up, he realizes that perhaps she is gone for good. He gets dressed and leaves for school unaware that Shathra is watching him from afar...

ACT 6: Later that day at a local newspaper office, Shathra, wearing a human disguise, spreads a false rumor that she and Spider-Man were an item...and that she will tell them all about it.
