Menace Revealed! That's right, arachnophiles, the veil has been lifted on the peppery profligate who's waged a war of terror on the New York City mayoral race, and it's Lily Hollister! Yes, Harry Osborn's girlfriend (whose rejection of Osborn's proposal may have severed that arrangement) and daughter to mayoral candidate Bill Hollister has secretly been transformed into this new gray goblin and taken several lives in the process not to mention given Spider-Man a severe beating and leaving him in police custody at a Hollister campaign rally. Returning to campaign headquarters, Menace transforms back into Lily just as Harry Osborn enters her office, catching her in the act.

REVIEW:
Flashback to Lily Hollister's earlier life. Her father is hard on her because she has no plans for her future. On the otherh and, her mother is very protective of her (very Mother Goose-like). In present time, Menace has Spider-Man in a chokehold. He has the opportunity to kill him, but he does not. He knows Bill Hollister has a greater chance of winning the mayoral race if Spider-Man is arrested by the police than he has if he's dead. Menace lets go and Spidey falls to the ground, unconscious. Menace flies away, laughing hysterically. Soon, he reaches a brownstone and enters through a window, making his way into the office of none other than Bill Hollister. There, he suddenly leans over the desk, seemingly writhing in pain. A transformation begins; when it's over, Menace is revealed to be none other than LILY HOLLISTER! Lily picks up the phone and calls her dads assistant, telling him to put another poll out in the field, as she feels something big is about to happen. As she hangs up the phone, she hears her name spoken to her from behind. She turns around and comes face-to-face with Harry Osborn.
Harry is so stunned that he's unable to speak. Lily thus chooses to talk, telling Harry that she knows what he's thinking about right there and then she assumes hes wondering if she only dated him because he was the Green Goblin and if she really loves him. She draws closer to him, putting her hand on his face. Rage boiling inside him, Harry backslaps her, telling her to get off him. Unfazed, Lily offers he own backslap in retaliation, sending Harry falling to the ground. One of her dad's aide knocks on the door, asking if everything is all right. She opens the door a crack and tells him she threw something heavy after reading another annoying op-ed piece; he buys her lies and leaves. Having gotten back to his feet, Harry tells Lily that she's sick. She rhetorically asks if he was sick and if his father was too. Before he can say anything, she goes on saying that she knows all about his family history; including everything about he and his father sharing the identity of the Green Goblin over the years. She shows him his journal, which she found in the closet and says that she was worried about him, assumingly after she read it. She thought he was under a lot of stress, back then, to get the Coffee Bean up and running, and she then started thinking that he might be doing drugs again when his behavior drastically changed. She was concerned and decided to find out what was on the other side of the back wall of the closet in their room; that is when she discovered his journal. She tells Harry that his journal contains a lot of whining. Harry tells Lily that she's sick and needs help. Lily replies that her father didn't care much for her either but she doesn't go around constantly complaining about it. Harry asks that she not bring his father into this. Pointing to Menace's glider, she says that it's too late for that. Harry tells Lily that she did not become Menace because of his father, nor did she because of hers. Lily surprisingly responds that she does not blame her father for what happened to her. She is taking full responsibility for that; something he should try someday. She knows her father loves Carlie Cooper more than he loves her, but she still doesn't blame him for every little thing. As she transforms half her face into that of Menace, she tells Harry that she did become Menace because of his father. Feeling sick to his stomach, Harry grabs hold of a garbage can and loses his lunch, so to speak. Sticking his head out of the garbage can, he tells Lily that he's going to kill his father for bringing her into this. Lily responds that it is not entirely Norman's fault; in fact, she's not even sure he knows about it. When Harry asks what she means by that, she answers that that she discovered a secret room in Norman's office and goes on saying something about one of his books entitled the "Rise of the Norman Empire". Harry has no clue what she's talking about, or if he does, he is concealing it very well. Before explaining what happened next, she tells Harry she kissed Peter (Parker) when they were cleaning up the office after the confrontation between Spider-Man and the Thunderbolts (in Amazing Spider-Man #573). She had to do this to prevent Peter from activating the secret entrance to Normans' equally secret room hidden behind the bookshelf the so-called trigger to activating the secret door was the "Rise of the Norman Empire" book. Harry asks Lily how she figured out how to open the room. Lily replies that it was written right in his journal, amidst all of his whining. A bulb lights up in Harry's head he suddenly realizes why she insisted on coming with him down to Oscorp a few weeks prior it was so she could access the room. She admits to have hoped to find something that would give her dad a reason to run for mayor; she evidently found a lot more than she expected. She figured that any evidence pointing to Norman Osborn being the Green Goblin would do fine and, since her father is an attorney, there would be enough proof in that secret room to indict Norman in at least half a dozen different ongoing criminal conspiracies. While gathering evidence, however, she accidentally knocked vials containing some kind of experimental goblin formula. Said formula was absorbed through her skin and she ended up transforming into Menace; contrary to the previous goblin incarnations, she did not need to wear a mask her face morphed into that of a goblin. It was then she realized that she had found more than just a reason for her dad to run for mayor; she had found something that would help him win the election. She tells Harry that she's extremely hurt that he thinks she's gone mad. Harry tries to talk her into stopping what she's doing but she refuses to listen to him. She thinks Harry is a weak person and she's not. While Harry couldn't control being the Green Goblin, she can control her alter ego. Having said that, she transforms into Menace, right in front of his eyes. Harry asks Lily if she thinks attacking her own father's campaign rallies is a normal thing to do (as opposed to a crazy thing). She explains that there'S actually a method to her madness. She initially set out to drive Parfrey (Lisa) and Crowne (Randall) out of the race, to open up a spot for her dad, but after Parfrey died a death she blames on Spider-Man she realized how valuable sympathy is as a political tool. So she became staging attacks on her dad, which gave him a boost in the polls after each attack. These attacks were exactly what her father needed to establish his platform as a law and order candidate, enemy of the criminals. With two days of the election left, she is confident that it has worked and that he'll win. Having said that, she transforms back into her human self and tells Harry that she's surprised he did not notice she was wearing his engagement ring. She shows him the ring on her finger and proceeds to hug him, telling him she accepts his proposal. She then admits that there are things the two of them have to work through but they can do all that, once the election is over. With that said, she tells Harry she has to go, as the press is about to report that Spider-Man has been arrested and she really doesnt want to miss that. As she walks out, she tells Harry that she loves him and cannot wait to be Mrs. Osborn; she also suggests he lock the door behind him as he may be hard-pressed to explain the goblin glider. Harry is left wondering what to do now.
Election day the Oscorp Building Harry Osborn activates the secret entrance to this father's goblin room and makes his way inside. He grabs a vial of goblin formula, puts on his goblin gloves and grabs a gun. He then jumps on the goblin glider.
To be continued.
