HISTORY: The daughter of a multimillionaire and his trophy supermodel wife, Tandy Bowen was born and raised in Shaker Oaks, Ohio. While Tandy was still quite young, her dad abandoned the family, leaving her to be raised by a mother who was too busy juggling her career and social life to pay much attention to her. Fed up with all those years of unhappiness and loneliness, Tandy move to New York to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional dancer.

Shortly after arriving in New York City, Tandy met Tyrone Johnson after he saved her from a purse-snatcher. They became close friends and so one night, their lives took a drastic turn. A pharmaceutical chemist known as Simon Marshall, who worked for the nefarious crime lord Silvermane, had them kidnapped along with several other teenagers, and began testing experimental drugs on them. Nearly everyone died except Tyrone and Tandy, who mysteriously developed super-powers, turning them into Cloak and Dagger.

After acquiring those super-powers, Cloak and Dagger decided to take justice into their own hands and went to war against Silvermane and other drug-dealing associations with mixed results. Around the same time they encountered Spider-Man for the first time and although they initially engaged into battle with him, they soon joined forces and fought side by side against evil in all its forms.
