WRITER:  Zeb Wells
PENCILLER:  Francisco Herrera
COVER BY:  Francisco Herrera and Wayne Faucher
INKER:  Wayne Faucher
STORY TITLE:  Just Another Manic Monday - Part Two - Everybody's Working for the Weekend
REVIEW:
When his childhood friend, Flash Thompson is left comatose after a particularly nasty battle with the Green Goblin, Spider-Man is forced to ponder his place in the world. Is he truly helping people by engaging in battle after battle with the same villains? Has this life-or-death struggle become nothing more than a game?

Similar questions confront Hydro-Man and The Shocker when they find themselves "let go" by the unscrupulous Hammer Industries. The Shocker, also wondering how he got caught up in this senseless cycle of super-violence, tries to convince Hydro-Man to help him make one last score. One that will finally make his years as a second-rate villain profitable, and most importantly, one that will fly under the radar of a certain wall-crawler. Hydro-Man, not prepared to give up his vendetta against Spider-Man, instead suggests The Shocker set up a score that will attract attention.

The Shocker should have plenty of time to escape with the loot, while Hydro-Man takes care of our hero.

ACT 1: The story opens up with Hydro-Man and the Shocker getting ready to go into the New York Federal Bank to steal some money by having Hydro-Man fill himself up with as much water as he can hold. They then head to the bank and Hydro-Man flushes most of the employees out of the building by releasing all the water absorbed in his body. Meanwhile nearby, Spider-Man has just saved some kid from being mugged when a huge tidal wave of water, coming from the NY Federal Bank, alerts him that something is just not quite right.

ACT 2: Back in the bank, Hydro-Man pressurizes the safety boxes by filling them with water then the Shocker shocks him, turning him into steam, which causes the safety boxes to open. At that moment, Spider-Man shows up and confronts the two miscreants. The Shocker blasts him with his new and improved vibro-shock gauntlets, which catches Spidey off-guard and sends him crashing down on the floor. Spidey stands back up and readies himself to take down the Shocker when Hydro-Man suddenly reappears and grabs him from behind. Spidey sets himself free from Hydro-Man with all his might while the Shocker rakes up a few more bags of money and gets ready to leave. Spidey tries to stop him so the Shocker blasts him again. Accidentally, he simultaneously blasts Hydro-Man into steam once again. The Shocker tries to run away again but Spidey snags him with a webline and holds on. Hydro-Man collects himself and traps Spidey in a ball of water but Spidey refuses to let go of the Shocker. This ticks off the Shocker big time and he blasts Hydro-Man into steam for the third time, which causes Spidey to release his web-line due to the extreme electrical shock that ends up ripping through his body. As Spidey tries to regain his strength and while Hydro-Man collects himself, the Shocker starts to run away, blasting right through police officers that have arrived on the scene. Spidey follows the Shocker and a half-collected Hydro-Man outside the building where the Shocker tries to blast Spidey into smithereens by using his vibro-shock gauntlets at maximum level. However, his gauntlets suddenly start overloading and all of a sudden, they blow up right in his face, accidentally rendering Hydro-Man into steam for the fourth time in a row. As the dust settles, Spidey searches for the Shocker, whom he finds sitting in a pile of rubble, bruised and battered. Spidey grabs the Shocker, hands him over to the police and web-slings away. The End.
