STORY TITLE:  Reborn - Part One
REVIEW:
It's not a good time to be The Sinister Sandman. With the power over his sandy form destabilized by a bite from the Venom symbiote, William Baker, a.k.a. the Sandman, his mind dispersed in the particles of Jones Beach, New York. Unable to reconstruct his personality, essential to actuating a body, his consciousness layed dormant. That was, until a cable music station showed up for its Spring Break festivities. The abundance of over-the-top pop starts provided Sandman with just what he needed to form a body. Spider-Man was able to overload his subconscious with many voices, freeing the stars and once again sending William Baker's mind into limbo. A victory for the wall-crawler to be sure, but can it be more than a matter of time before the powerful psyche of the Sandman finds a way to heal itself? And when it does, will it be the heroic or villainous Sandman that emerges?

ACT 1: Peter Parker is sitting in his apartment sowing up some badly torn Spider-Man costumes. Meanwhile at Jones Beach, the beach itself gives birth to a baby Sandman. A short time later, a full-grown Sandman emerges from the same beach and after scaring away a police officer, joins the baby Sandman. Back at his apartment, Peter has had it with his sewing so he switches to his Spider-Man costume and heads out.

ACT 2: After web-slinging for a while, Spidey hears a police bulletin about the Sandman having been spotted on Jones Beach. Wasting no time, he makes his way to Jones Beach. When he arrives there, he finds both Sandmen and tussles briefly with the adult one but they both stop when the adult Sandman reveals to Spider-Man that the baby is actually himself.

ACT 3: Meanwhile, in an another part of the beach, a deformed version of the Sandman emerges from the sand and begins killing police officers stationed nearby. Meanwhile at a local diner on the beach, Spider-Man is discussing with the two Sandmen, trying to figure out exactly what is going on. Suddenly, they hear a news bulletin about the deformed Sandman going on a rampage somewhere else on the beach. They head out to the beach to investigate.

ACT 4: A few minutes later, they arrive at the beach and find nothing. Spidey tries to find clues but finds none. He then comes up with the theory that since Sandman’s consciousness was spread all over the beach (back in Peter Parker Spider-Man #42-43), it is quite possible that different parts of his personality are manifesting themselves. As he finishes explaining his theory, a female Sandman suddenly emerges from the beach. To be continued.
