ANDREA PARKER

Andrea Parker's first dream she pursued was that of ballet dancing. It prompted her to leave home to become one, and her confidence assured her she could be anything she wanted to be, which later included acting.
Parker is from Southern California and is the oldest of four children. She began to study ballet at age six. Instead of spending summers swimming or playing like most kids, she spent them with youth ballet programs in San Francisco, New York, and Cleveland. Her rigerous study proved not to be in vain when she joined the San Francisco Ballet at age 15 and was there for a three-year tenure. "Dancing had a lot to do with my self-assurance and goal-setting," says the 5-foot-10-inch Parker. "Rather than going to play with your friend, you learn at a young age to put on your pointe shoes and practice."
Andrea returned to Souther California and began a career as a contemporary dancer. She appeared in commercials, videos, and even fashion shows. She bartended for five years to afford acting classes, which resulted in a role in the Los Angeles play Fine Line. This got her a manager who arranged other auditions. She landed her first speaking role in the memorable, emmy-winning episode of Seinfeld called The Contest.
Other guest-starring roles after that included Dream On, Coach, Dave's World, Can't Hurry Love, Ellen, Married...With Children and Murder She Wrote. Then she recieved recurring roles in some popular television series. Andrea landed recurring roles in The Adventures of Brisco Country, Jr., JAG and ER. Her television movies included NBC's Ed McBain's 87th Precinct and Victim of Love. Then came time for her biggest role yet. She read the pilot script for The Pretender and almost immediately knew she was desitined for the role of Miss Parker.
"It was kind of strange," says Parker. "As soon as I saw the role of 'Miss Parker' I said, 'Hey, my name's all over this script.' I knew I had to make it mine. There was just too much synchronicity for it not to happen. We're both alike in that we go after what we want, but I would never dream of treating people the way she does."
While not chasing Jarod, Parker hones her skills at, yes, precision stunt-driving, and of course testing her marksmeanship at the gun range. She likes to ride horses, read and spend time with her family. She is active in My Good Friend Foundation, a pediatric cancer charity organization. Her birthday is March 8.

PATRICK BAUCHAU

Patrick Bauchau first established his acting career in numerous European art films. Now he is on the hit show The Pretender and has acted in mainstream features, such as Clear and Present Danger.
"When you are in a blockbuster movies, you tend to execute a pre-established program and seem to be part of a giant battleship," Bauchau remarked, "In the art films, it's more of a guerrilla style and less structured. In some ways, TV and art movies have more in comon, because you discover what's to be done, and then you can be more creative."

Patrick began his life in Brussels and was raised in Belgium, England, and Switzerland. He has three brothers. His father was a writer, but was serving as an officer in the Belgian underground when Patrick was born near the end of World War II. His mother, on the other hand, was Russian who ran a publishing company and a finishing school in Swizterland. Patrick studied at the presitgious Oxford University, where he recieved a degree in modern languages. He is multilingual; in addition to English he speaks French, German, Spanish, and Italian.

Bauchau, early-on, decided his calling was acting. He began acting at the end of the French New Wave cinematic era, and he was influenced greatly by writer-director Eric Rohmer, whom he considers his mentor. Rohmer worked with Patrick when he appeared in his first movie, La Collectioneuse in the late 1960s. Bauchau got more practice at the craft of acting in such European films as Lisbon Story and The State of Things, Entre Nous, and the James Bond flick A View to a Kill. Later he did American features such as Choose Me, The Rapture, Blood Ties, The New Age, The Three Wise Men, and The Interview. He completed his more recent film, The Last Muskaterr, during his season hiatus. Patrick's television credits include Kindred: The Embraced (a regualar cast member playing godfather of the immortals), Earth 2, Fortune Hunter and TV movies such as And the Band Played On, Tom Clancy's Op Center, Day of Reckoning, Columbo, and Murder: A Self-Portrait. He also co-starred in the Canadian series Mount Royal.

He has this to say about his role in The Pretender where he plays a scientist in charge of programming extremely gifted children, often becoming an unintentional parent: "Sydney is fond of jarod and wants him to reach his full potential. This causes problems for the peopole who run the Cenre when Jarod escapes, because he's so protective of him, like a surrogate son. I find my character to be a professional man who runs his program on the edge and could be seen as a guilty party to what's gone on before."

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys carpentry, gardening, collecting Oriental art, and practicing yoga. He has one adult daughter, Camille. He and his wife, Mijanou (a screenwriter), live in Los Angeles. Bauchau's birthday is December 6th.
